Star Gate-Chapter 1674: Dao Chess (II)
Does this have something to do with the Skyward dao universe? Well well, things are getting very interesting. It’s a little too peaceful right now. There’s no chance to fish in troubled waters if the Skyward dao universe doesn’t open!
The Human King abruptly walked out of his hiding spot. Ponderously strong presences immediately locked onto him; a hush settled over Skyward. His unbridled, violent presence rushed through the world!
A cowed atmosphere draped over Skyward. Even the two battling seventh ranks paused at the sensation. This person was known by his name, just as a tree was known by its shadow!
The New Martial Human King was a master of an eighth rank world and had killed seventh ranks before. He was an incredibly young tyrant that’d risen with extreme swiftness. And here... he truly was.
Flare Sun paled with horror. Fog Mountain... you...
Fog Mountain’s eyes likewise widened. The Human King really had shown himself, and so quickly! Had he been here all this time?
The Human King’s presence flared imposingly, but he did not seek to ambush the onlookers. One successful ambush was a coincidence. Choosing to always employ ambushes meant courting death.
His appearance drew the attention of the entire world. Contrary to most cultivators who used the blade, he held his in his hand instead of wearing it on his back. He brandished it with a flourish that ripped through the firmament.
“Continue!” he chuckled. “Keep having fun! I won’t kill you guys today. I hear that there’s an exalted emperor here who’s sworn fealty to Red Moon. This king has no particular goal in mind right now—just one request. Hand over all the Red Moon exalted emperors around you! I’ll leave after hacking them apart. If not... I’ll cut into a seventh rank today for fun!”
Countless powerhouses blinked at his words. What... are you talking about? Hand them over? Hand who over? Are you going to kill more seventh ranks if we don’t?
A seventh rank master of the world rippled his great dao in response and said aloofly, “As strong as you are, Human King, this is Skyward and not New Martial! Who do you think you’re threatening?”
“That’s right! Your conflict with Red Moon has nothing to do with us! You are not an eighth rank. Even if you were, can you act so impudently just because of that?” Someone sent a probe at the Human King.
He chuckled and waved his blade around, sending a wave of incredible energy through the surroundings. The Human King locked onto several powerhouses hidden in the shadows and sneered contemptuously at them. “It’s a bit harder to kill eighth ranks, but you guys? So easy! What are you gonna do about it if you don’t like my words?”
He wasn’t afraid of trouble or provoking the heavyweights of the world! He seemed to see right through them and knew that they wouldn’t dare be the vanguard in a clash with him, nor did they want such a conflict.
“New Martial is not afraid of any enemy!” he sniffed dismissively. “There is nothing to being enemies with the entire world! In that case, there is no point in fighting you guys. I said before that those of Red Moon should die. There are certain to be Red Moon powerhouses here. Hand them over and avoid a war, otherwise...”
You’re being so ridiculous! cursed many exalted emperors. Find them yourself if you want to kill them, what does it have to do with us?! This guy is ludicrous!
He wants us to find the people he’s looking for and even deliver them for him to kill. The hell?!
Whoever does so will make an enemy out of Red Moon as well!
Even the two eighth ranks that’d extended their senses to the scene were at a loss. This one... was truly arrogant beyond words. Not even eighth ranks were as beyond the pale as him!
Meanwhile, Fog Mountain continued to fight. Flare Sun was extremely distracted and could only passively respond due to his attention being pulled in numerous directions.
Some seventh ranks began converging on the spot. They were partially here for the excitement and partially wanted to see if the Human King would actually make a move. Skyward had been quiet for a few months, but there seemed to be something fun developing again!
As for the potential danger within?
It was the same anywhere!
Seventh rank masters of the world would not be that timid, not to mention that the Human King was here alone. He would absolutely be mobbed by the crowd if he started randomly killing people.
......
A loud hubbub rose in the northern region, to the point where the chaos was disturbed from all of the seventh rank strength rising into the firmament. Li Hao and Void looked at each other wordlessly. Fog Mountain was really something!
They were near the southern gate and had wanted him to come meet them, not... start a fight. Why does this guy seem a bit perverted?
“The Exalted Fog Mountain Emperor... can really get things done,” transmitted a resigned Void. “Does this mean that the other powerful presence I can sense belongs to the New Martial Human King?”
“Probably.” Li Hao had once seen the man in memory form, so was relatively certain that it was the Human King.
“Then he is the person who I encountered when I teleported out!” sighed Void. “He’s very strong!”
Li Hao nodded. “Let’s go, everyone’s watching that side. This is going smoother than I expected! A fight between several seventh ranks is more popular than us, heh!”
“That’s true!”
The two laughed and the world of emptiness materialized. The dao of hiding operated to envelop it with a dao domain.
They immediately bypassed the exalted emperor on duty. Ever since the Empyrean Kings assigned to the gate were killed, the ones standing guard were now exalted emperors. But they were only first ranks!
They were supremely distracted at the moment, whereas both Void and Li Hao were utilizing their dao methods. The first ranks didn’t sense anything at all as the two slowly infiltrated the world barrier to slip into the world below. There was no need to utilize the transportation formation.
One of those watching the show from the barrier cracks sensed something. He looked in a certain direction and perceived a presence with a common origin. A small smile of understanding spread across his face.
Was it the Silver Moon king? How interesting!
And I was just wondering why Fang Ping is behaving abnormally and purposefully showing his face, as well as Fog Mountain picking a random fight... So it’s me who was slow on the uptake! That guy’s here! Fun!
From the looks of this, the Skyward dao universe has much to do with him. Perhaps it will open again very shortly. But what is he doing that for?
The middle-aged cultivator pondered deeply in thought. Aside from adding to the general confusion, there was no other purpose to opening the Skyward dao universe. No one could necessarily claim it if it opened now.
Confusion...
That had developed at Red Moon a while back. Did this have to do with the situation at Red Moon ? Did they wish to lure the Red Moon master here?
But... why?
He came to some conclusions after some thought, but wasn’t entirely certain as they were very bold and downright crazy. These guys didn’t have their sights set on Red Moon, did they? That major world had two seventh ranks in residence these days!
Not to mention, there were three dao universes nearby, one of which had two seventh ranks. That totaled six seventh ranks in Red Moon Region.
Although he wasn’t certain of his speculations, Li Zhu felt that changes might take place in Skyward soon. There might be more seventh and eighth ranks arriving in the days to come!
There weren’t many eighth ranks in the regions around Skyward. Only Light, Skycloud, Dragon, Red Moon, and Blazing Sun possessed one. Who knew how many would come once Skyward was thrown into disorder?
......
Bam!
A very faint sound rang out when Li Hao and Void darted out of the world barrier. The young man smiled as he looked around them. There was mayhem in the north!
“My Uncle Flare Sun is probably really nervous right now!” Void shrugged a helpless shoulder. Fog Mountain really knew how to pick his targets! And with the Human King showing his face as well, the situation was very dangerous!
“Do you think the Human King has an ulterior motive in mind since he’s stuck around here this entire time?” he transmitted to Li Hao. Was he here for the dao universe?
Not necessarily!
Then, why had he stayed? No one from Red Moon was here.
“He probably wants to adjust his plan according to the situation or... maybe has his sights set on your dad?”
“Eh?”
Li Hao was just guessing, but it was possible. “Your father is the master of Light,” he transmitted. “His power of utmost yang is pretty dense, right?”
“......” Void blinked and nodded, understanding something. Surely... not?
Actually, it did seem possible... This was a difficult call to make!
“I’ll let my father know of the possibility!” That was the only thing Void could do. As for persuading the Human King otherwise... Forget it, he was only familiar with the Sword Sovereign. He didn’t know the Human King, not to mention they had no preexisting relationship.
Li Hao didn’t say anything. New Martial’s continued absence in the chaos might be due to other pursuits that would resolve some of their current difficulties. If the supreme was ignoring even Red Moon, it might be because they were handling their own troubles.
None of that had anything to do with him.
“Let’s go to Demon Summit!”
“The Observatory leader is still there, no?”
“Who cares?”
The two grinned at each other and vanished, heading for Demon Summit. They didn’t care if the faction leader was there or not. If he was... A bunch of seventh ranks were already dead. One more exalted emperor could be added to the list of casualties. As for who killed him... the Human King, of course.
Why?
Because the Observatory leader had wanted to kill New Martial citizens before.
What does it have to do with us?
As for how the Human King could’ve killed Dragon when the former was in the northern region... C’mon, even the supreme had his replicas. Why would the Human King not have one?
The two exchanged looks again and grinned happily. It really didn’t matter if a sixth rank died in a place like this.
......
Thank goodness for him, Dragon was not in residence at the moment. He didn’t dare linger after the two Skycloud seventh ranks ran off. It wasn’t that he was afraid of someone coming for him, but that his superiors had gone off elsewhere.
As a Skycloud vassal, he needed to follow the seventh ranks wherever they went, no matter how terrified he might be. It was fine if he arrived later, he just needed to take a stand. If he brought all of Dragon Observatory to support his superiors despite his renowned timidity, it would be a good showing even if he was late.
This lip service served to benefit Li Hao.
