Star Gate-Chapter 1125: Massacre (I)
Chapter 1125: Massacre (I)
In the distance.
Zheng Gong looked on lividly. Yuan Shuo had kept up a fearsome barrage from beginning to end, his fists shattering mountain and sea. They never stopped and didn’t tire, even though the skeleton that was Yuan Shuo was starting to fall apart.
The old man continued to punch without pause!
The domain of the five elements enveloped the four sides, leaving Zheng Gong without any room for retreat. In contrast to Han Jiang, he did not use speed to evade Yuan Shuo’s attacks. Instead, he met his opponent in direct combat again and again.
As a Saint, as the young lord of one of the eight families, his sense of honor did not permit him to dodge his opponent’s attacks when he fought a weakling. Yuan Shuo was not the Li Hao who’d killed a Saint. This old man did not possess the strength to kill a Saint.
Zheng Gong met fist with fist. Yuan Shuo’s right fist was nearly been obliterated. The boxing intent that he now utilized was converted from his aura.
The collision of the two punches annihilated the rest of Yuan Shuo’s right fist, damage crept up the arm and turned bone into ash.
He did not seem to feel any pain. Li Hao had not triumphed yet! He could neither retreat nor die before his discipline won!
Zheng Gong was growing infuriated; a large seal manifested in his hand—the city lord seal. He saw some of his people dying and was enraged by it. As the highest ranked leader of the city, his status was greater than Han Jiang’s.
He would be hard pressed to explain himself if the losses were too great!
A bunch of weaklings had killed multiple director generals and division leaders—more than a dozen troop leaders were dead! That was the equivalent of losing an entire division, and more than that. How could he justify himself?
Yuan Shuo was proving inordinately hard to kill and even Li Hao was able to withstand Han Jiang’s attacks. While Zheng Gong knew that Yuan Shuo was certain to die if the battle dragged on and neither could Li Hao endure for long, why would he permit prolonged hostilities?
A cold light flashed through his eyes. In that case, he would use the city lord seal to kill Yuan Shuo!
If one had sufficient authorization over the seal, it could be utilized to kill invaders. However, each utilization consumed resources and required time to restore it. In these times, the seal lacked its previous capability of communicating with the outside world and the supreme.
These days, whoever controlled the seal could kill their personal enemies! How interesting would it be to employ the supreme’s contingencies to kill these people?
To think of the deed was to take action. The city lord seal hovered in the air as a small row of text appeared toward the bottom. ‘Boundless’ and ‘suppression’...
This was the seal of the Boundless city lord.
Zheng Gong snorted and spat a mouthful of blood at the seal. The text writhed, coming alive and summoning a faint shadow over the treasure.
“Supreme!” Wang Ye howled with tears of blood when he saw the sight. “The seal’s wielder has betrayed New Martial! How can methods used to annihilate demons be used against us?!”
In this moment, he was certain that the Zhengs were the traitors. In that case, how could he accept that the turncoats were utilizing methods to obliterate demons against them?!
Wang Ye had a city lord seal as well, but it was yet to recover after he used it to kill the white tree. He howled and threw his seal out, smashing it at the Boundless seal. He spat out numerous mouthfuls of blood and melded them into the seal!
They’d previously discussed that if the city lord seal materialized, Li Hao should use Stellaris against it. But where would he find the opportunity to do so at present? Plans did not keep up with actual circumstances in the battlefield!
The young man still needed to utilize Stellaris’ immense capabilities for defense and to kill his own opponent. If he redirected it to stop the Boundless seal... that might be precisely Han Jiang’s goal!
Li Hao would most likely die once he threw down Stellaris to save Yuan Shuo from the city lord seal. And yet, Battle Heaven’s city lord seal was noticeably weaker than it once was.
The shadow over the Boundless seal was about to solidify and take action against Yuan Shuo. Pain crossed Li Hao’s face, he could see what was about to happen, but he’d finally captured the rhythm of Han Jiang’s trajectory.
He had two choices in front of him. He could throw out Stellaris—he would die in return and his teacher die a little later. Or, he could ignore his teacher’s plight and continue searching for the optimal battle timing to kill Han Jiang.
In that case, his teacher was guaranteed to die!
How should he choose?
Li Hao didn’t. He couldn’t throw out Stellaris. If he did in the face of such a strong enemy, that would spell the doom of his entire army! He stood a chance of killing Han Jiang if he did not relinquish his sword.
Teacher, I’m sorry!
Li Hao roared and didn’t send Stellaris to help Yuan Shuo. All of his dao meridians broke once more, five hundred open acupoints spontaneously grew to seven hundred. All of them sparkled with aureate radiance and assembled into a sword-shaped dao meridian!
The sword dao ability materialized!
The young man could sense it, he was going to kill Han Jiang with one blow...
......
Wang Ye’s city lord seal could not stop the Boundless city seal. He raged impotently, completely helpless. Supreme Zhang had left certain measures inside the city lord seal, granting the greatest degree of autonomous rule possible to those beneath him. Since this was a minor world, there was no weapon spirit left in the seal.
Therefore, the seal could not exercise any judgment. It could only follow Zheng Gong’s orders. Yuan Shuo... was done for.
On the ground, the Evenround Martial students dispatched a Gold Armor. The nine of them working together only brought forth strength of seventh or eighth level Mountain and Sea, but they were able to eliminate a Gold Armor nonetheless.
Jiang Yingli’s eyes widened when she saw the scene playing out overhead. The methods of the supreme! The city lord seal!
“It’s time for us!” she growled.
The nine students looked at each other and shouted at the same time, “Imperial command—suppress!”
They connected to the core origin dao within the Hao Cosmos; it shook as they summoned various supernatural characters. ‘Jiang’, ‘Chen’, ‘Shen’, ‘Wu’... These were the surnames of exalted emperor families! Of course, they were the descendants of such exalted beings!
They utilized the last vestiges of imperial bloodline left in the core origin dao to raise a protest. During New Martial, exalted emperors and the Human King worked in tandem to rule the world. The Human King might ignore the emperors even if a large sum opposed him, but Supreme Zhang should be willing to listen to them.
The manifestation of numerous supernatural characters made it seem like the exalted emperors themselves were gathering. They hovered in the air, clashing with the shadow over the city lord seal.
The shadow hesitated—nine exalted emperors objected to its actions!
When combined with the Battle Heaven city lord seal... the supreme’s shadow paused in its movements to attack Yuan Shuo.
“How dare they! Kill those people!” Zheng Gong flew into a rage. Nine descendants of New Martial exalted emperors?
He recognized them in a general sense, but wasn’t too familiar with them since they’d changed to new physical bodies. He only knew Wang Ye. The rest of the group weren’t readily identifiable.
And yet, they obstructed the city lord seal!
Damn it!
Jiang Yingli and the rest shook like a leaf while they manipulated the characters to block the city lord seal. It was very difficult to maintain their bodies. They’d revived too late and were yet to recover to their peak. At the moment, they were just Mountain and Sea.
A Gold Armor entered their line of vision and charged them at the head of other Silver Armors.
“You are a mere side branch of the Zheng family!” Jiang Yingli spat out with a mouthful of blood. “Even the direct lineal branch would have to bow and scrape before me! Zheng Gong, you’ve got some nerve, you runt!
“Your old man would have to kneel and call me auntie if he was here!”
She spoke truly, but there was no use in fighting words when one’s strength was insufficient to back them up. After a few more insults, she looked at her fellow students.
“We can always recreate physical bodies,” she forced out through grit teeth. “But these traitors have completely shamed Tranquil Star! Show them what we’ve got!”
The group looked at each other and shattered their bodies without a second thought. Waves of mental strength gathered as a weapon floated in front of each of them. The mallet of the Jiangs, the broadsword of the Shens, the dagger without a hilt of the Wus...
All of these weapons were forged out of the previous puppet bodies. They were extremely formidable!
The group looked at each other through their mental strength and assembled into a massive formation. It turned into a circle that shrouded the powerhouses rushing at them from all sides.
“How dare these swine stab us in the back! Execute them!!”
They were just cultivators of the Mountain and Sea level, but they erupted with an inexplicably strong presence in this moment. Such was the martial prowess of exalted emperors!
The nine were one as they exploded with unmatched presence that ultimately fashioned itself into a gigantic mallet. It smashed into the Gold Armor with finality and broke the soldier into pieces!
His armor was in pieces and his body was no better. All that was left of the Gold Armor was mental strength. He looked around, dazed. A red light in his eyes seemed to fade somewhat. When he looked at the mallet and then at his surroundings... he laughed in a ghastly fashion.
Descendants of exalted emperors!
He suddenly understood past events. I... see!
But such enlightenment did not matter anymore. The mallet swung down. The Gold Armor’s mental strength and did not strike back. It permitted the weapon to crush him.
BOOM!
The mallet obliterated him from existence.
“Division leader!” howled the Silver Armors. However, the mallet sailed through the air, aimed at them.
Bam bam bam!
The Silver Armors immediately vaporized without even leaving behind traces of mental strength. The mallet in the air dimmed and faint ripples of mental strength wafted out of it.
Jiang Yingli’s shadow looked in Li Hao’s direction, sighing to herself as she and her comrades darted into their weapons. They may not have another chance to resurrect if Li Hao lost this battle.
Core origin dao was severed and apart from Li Hao, no one else was that familiar with the new martial dao. Even if someone found their weapons later, they might not be able to connect the students to the new martial dao and facilitate their revival.
The students’ final stand wrenched some of the situation around. While they weren’t strong, they’d swiftly killed two Gold Armors and multiple Silver Armors. The city lord seal had been obstructed and Yuan Shuo gained another chance of dragging out the fight.
