Standing Next To You-Chapter 361: Visiting the sick Fei Chuan
Chapter 361: Visiting the sick Fei Chuan
Driver Wang picked up Bei Sangyun near the area where the Fei mansion was located. Because there were a lot of cars coming and going due to the event that would start tonight, Driver Wang’s car easily passed through the Fei family’s gate.
Bei Sangyun saw several workers carrying furniture and other items. She couldn’t help but ask, "Is there an event today?"
"Ah, yes. Today is the return of the First Young Master." Driver Wang did not need to explain further. Bei Sangyun understood the significance of his words.
Bei Sangyun nodded and did not ask any more questions. She had been particularly attentive to Fei Chuan’s family ever since her return. With the knowledge of her past life and the information she gathered from her spy, she could grasp the hierarchy and the situation of this family.
The car drove to the farthest corner of the Fei family’s premises and stopped in front of a two-story building. Unlike the grand buildings inside the gate, this one was small and humble.
It was far away from the bustling and lively scene she had witnessed earlier.
Bei Sangyun got out of the car. A maid immediately welcomed her.
She introduced herself as Maid Yan. Bei Sangyun had heard from Fei Chuan that there were only three people at his place. Because they were loyal and faithful to Fei Chuan, Bei Sangyun wanted to give a gift to the driver and Maid Yan.
After all, Fei Chuan’s people would be her people as well. As Zhong Cheng noted in the file she gave him, gaining a good impression and trust from the people Fei Chuan cared about would be crucial in maintaining a stable and lasting relationship.
Due to the lesson she learned yesterday after giving the exorbitant gift to Grandma Pei, Bei Sangyun prepared something modest but meaningful for them.
Maid Yan appreciated her gift very much. No one in the entire Fei household had thought of giving a mere maid like her a gift before. Her impression of Bei Sangyun rose significantly. Maid Yan enthusiastically gave her a tour around the house until they arrived at the kitchen.
Grandma Pei had just finished cooking. She was still wearing her apron.
"I am glad you were able to come. Have you eaten? I just finished making soup, and I also baked some pastries."
"Mhm. It smells appetizing, Grandma. Then let’s eat together."
"Oh, we already ate earlier. If you want, you can eat upstairs. The young master is still in the bedroom. We did not tell him you were coming." Grandma Pei handed her a tray and added an extra bowl.
"Here, bring it to him. He didn’t have much of an appetite earlier, so I made some nutritional soup that he can eat. Now that you’re here, I’m pretty sure he’ll eat more."
Bei Sangyun accepted the task, and with Maid Yan’s help, she arrived at Fei Chuan’s room.
She knocked on the door, and a hoarse voice sounded, "What is it?"
Bei Sangyun winked at Maid Yan.
Maid Yan gave an okay gesture. "It is me, Young Master. Madame Pei made soup for you. Please have it while it’s warm."
A while later, the door opened.
A red-faced Fei Chuan appeared behind the door. His hair was messy, and his eyes were sleepy. However, those sleepy eyes suddenly widened when he saw Bei Sangyun at the door.
"...Bei Sangyun... What are you doing here?"

Epilogue: Grandma Pei’s Gift
While desserts were being served, Bei Sangyun handed a big brown envelope to Grandma Pei.
Grandma Pei accepted it with confusion. "What is this?"
"It’s my gift for you, Grandma Pei."
"A gift?" Grandma Pei felt the envelope. It was thin; it seemed only a piece of paper could fit inside. Could it be a picture of her? Or a sketch of her and the Young Master?
Whatever kind of gift it was, Grandma Pei was happy. This young woman must have thought hard about what to give her. She didn’t need any gift, but she appreciated that Bei Sangyun had thought of her.
"Thank you, my dear." She opened the envelope, but instead of finding pictures as expected, she found just one piece of paper. She took it out and saw the words ’Transfer of Property’ with her name as the recipient.
Grandma Pei’s eyes bulged. "...10 hectares of land and a villa under my name?"
"Ah, yes. I heard from Fei Chuan that you want to plant and take care of a garden when you retire. The land is near a river, and the village nearby is very friendly and hospitable to their neighbors. It is surrounded by mountains, the air is fresh, and it’s just 10 minutes away from the city center. The area is already being developed, and in a few years, the land’s value will increase tenfold."
Grandma Pei’s jaw dropped. What kind of gift was this...? It was too precious!
"My dear, I don’t need land. You should have it instead. In the future, you and Young Master will have a rest house to visit when you want."
"Don’t worry, Grandma. Fei Chuan and I also have land near yours. We will help you take care of your garden when we visit."
Bei Sangyun had already planned her future with Fei Chuan. Once they returned to Grandma Pei, they would live on the land she had bought.
Away from the feuding families that had burdened them and the capital full of pretense and schemes, they would settle here and live comfortably. If they had children, they would raise them here too.
Grandma Pei was speechless.
A garden...? She only wanted to have a garden the size of a small room. Not ten hectares!
Faced with Bei Sangyun’s solemn attitude, Grandma Pei turned to Fei Chuan for help, but he too was taken aback.
It seemed he had no idea that his girlfriend had bought land and built a villa for their retirement plan.
Who would think of such things after less than a month in a relationship? Only Bei Sangyun could.
Fei Chuan felt his grandmother’s gaze and smiled helplessly at her. This was Bei Sangyun’s sincerity and from the looks of it, she won’t back down.
Since this was what Bei Sangyun wanted for their future, he could only support her.
And he didn’t think the idea was bad either.
