Elena wanted to give Aurelia the upper hand so then she could try to get a good counter to end the match, but Aurelia already had that in her head.

Aurelia stepped forward, her arms and sword glowed faintly as her power surged due to one of her enchantment and she struck.

The second strike cracked the blood shield, forcing Elena to slide backward and Aurelia charge in to finish her off but this was what Elena was waiting for.

Elena clicked her tongue and lifted her hand.

A sharp spear of blood formed and shot forward but Aurelia barely raised her small shield in time to block the attack. The spear hit hard, sending her skidding across the ground.

She dug her boots in and stopped herself, breathing hard, the attack was sure to shatter her shield if it wasn't for the enchantment on it.

"Fast…" Aurelia muttered as a smile formed on her face, either Elena spells had gotten even faster, or she was holding back during her last match.

Elena didn't give her time to recover as she cast another spell.

[Blood Bind]

Thin blood threads shot towards Aurelia at breathtaking speed, it was so fast she couldn't react fast enough to stop it, and the blood wrapped around Aurelia's legs.

The moment they wrapped around her legs they tightened instantly. Aurelia gritted her teeth as she knew Elena would fire off another spell.

Aurelia body moved faster as she forced herself free, cutting the bindings with one clean swing. The blood snapped apart, splashing onto the ground.

Enchantment spells were different from normal spells because they had a time limit. Instead of lasting until the user mana ran out, they faded after a set duration. A full-body enchantment usually lasted longer than simple buffs like increasing strength or agility.

For example, Aurelia's [Enhanced Agility] greatly increase her speed, but only for about ten seconds. Because of this, it couldn't be used too early. It had to be activated during the battle at the right moment, otherwise the effect would be wasted.

Enchantment magic could also be used to weaken an opponent. Just as it could buff the user, it could apply debuffs, but there was a condition. The caster had to touch their opponent for the enchantment to take effect, which made it much harder to use in a real fight.

Because of these limits, enchantment magic relied heavily on timing, positioning, and close-range combat rather than raw power but they are few enchantment spells that are considered power than regular spells.

After stopping Elena's attack, Aurelia charged forward with her enhanced agility easily closing the distance between them but Elena raised both hands and without looking at Aurelia she cast her spell.

A wall of blood surged forward from her body like a crashing tide. Aurelia immediately halted crossing her arms and shield.

The impact hit her like a hammer. She was pushed few feets back, her boots scraping, but she stayed standing then she dashed forward.

The crowd gasped as they watched two potentially powerful mages go head to head, both the Queen and Elena's mother was satisfied with the battle, the Queen still wanted Aurelia to win, but for Elena's mother, even if she loses, she did her best.

Aurelia leapt forward, sword raised high, then she brought it down with full force.

Elena reacted fast, her Mana was slowly draining away but she kept at it and created another barrier.

[Blood Barrier]

But this time, Aurelia already knew she would defend and twisted mid-swing. Her sword smashed the barrier.

*CRACK!*

The blood barrier shattered after the crack and Elena stumbled backward, she was shocked at the force behind Aurelia strike and she immediately jumped backwards trying to create space again.

Aurelia didn't miss the chance and dashed forward.

She closed the gap in a blink and slashed across Elena's side. Elena managed to create a barrier at the last second but it wasn't enough as Aurelia's sword tore through the barrier and slammed into her side.

She screamed as pain shot through her body, even though her barrier and the mages' barrier absorbed most of the damage it was still painful.

She rolled away and slammed her hand on the ground, she knew, if one of those strike hit her again, it was game over.

Sharp spikes erupted from the ground to stop Aurelia's approach causing her to jumped backwards.

"You'll find that your victory would not come that easy," Elena said, breathing hard as she stood up from the ground.

Aurelia wiped sweat from her face, a smile forming on her face as she cracked her neck.

Both girls stood still for a moment, breathing heavy, each of them thinking about their next move.

Then they moved at the same time, Aurelia dashing forward while Elena cast a spell.

This was one of her fastest spells, she had other but this was fast and didn't require much Mana to cast so it was a good option, but Aurelia deflected it with her shield and spun, slashing upward.

Elena blocked with hardened blood just enough to withstand the attack, but the force pushed her back again.

Everyone watching knew the fight could end at any second but they still had no idea who would win.

Aurelia rolled her shoulder, tightening her grip on her sword.

She could feel her buffs draining her Mana bit by bit, yet she didn't cancel them. This was not a fight she could afford to slow down and the next moment proved it.

Elena raised both hands again but this time was different, blood dripped from her fingertips and she cast a different spell.
