SSS-Ranked Skill in a New Filthy World-Chapter 121 Classes
Chapter 121: Chapter 121 Classes
"So when are you coming to visit? Our room’s right after the bathroom," Eve said with a smile.
"Alright, maybe in the evening," Roman replied. "But I can come at night if that’s better for you."
"Come at night," Lily said quickly, then turned her face away, a little shy. Roman chuckled.
More students began leaving the dorms, heading to the training ground. In no time, the whole area was crowded.
Roman noticed the girl he met here didn’t move. She was standing off to the side, just watching everyone.
Then, all the talking and noise suddenly stopped. Roman turned his head and saw why.
Clara had arrived, and she was heading toward the students; Clara was the instructor who showed them around.
She walked forward till she was in front of the students and then the girl he met began walking towards them.
"Good morning students, if this is all of you then allow me to introduce the second homeroom teacher, Miss Alder... I’ll be teaching one of the classes and she’ll be teaching the other"
"Welcome to the academy" She spoke.
’Shit... I’m fucking done’ Roman muttered as he looked at Eve, her jaws already dropped from her mouth as she stared at Alder.
She didn’t look anything like an instructor, though she looked a little older; Roman just assumed that’s how she looked. Besides, they were told to be there before the instructor, so he didn’t think any instructor would be at the training ground.
"Some students might be joining the class today; many C-ranks applied to join the academy; first, I want everyone to cast a spell, except the summoners, and form two lines; Alder and I will examine your ability," Clara spoke, and the students began forming two lines.
A few students stepped out of the way, including Reina, since she was a summoner; in total, there were 6 summoners.
Roman stayed near the back of the line, not all the way to the end, but far enough that he could watch what others were doing; he had Eve and her Lily behind him.
His heart was beating a little faster now, there was just no way he could pass out in front of everyone here.
Behind him, Eve was still staring at Alder in shock; in her case, she had no idea what could happen.
"She’s an instructor?" Eve whispered. "We’re so dead..."
Roman didn’t reply. He looked forward instead, watching as the first few students stepped up and cast simple spells—fireballs, water streams, wind bursts, light rune, tiny blood arrow, minor enchant, and the works.
Nothing too flashy, just enough to show they had control.
Alder and Clara stood a few feet apart, each one watching their own line. Sometimes, they nodded; other times, they said something quietly to the student before moving on.
Soon, Aurelia stepped up, and Roman discovered that she was an enchanter as she had her sword with her, while Ava was an elemental mage with both fire and ice attributes.
The line was getting smaller and smaller each time, and soon only two students were in front of Roman, and then Alder turned her head towards him.
Roman immediately looked away, Eve did the same immediately, only Lily didn’t look away and continued looking forward.
Alder had a small smile on her face as a student stepped up in front of her, and finally, it was Roman’s turn.
He stepped up but was stopped by Clara, "No need"
’Huh! Wait what...’
"No need," Roman muttered as he stepped aside; he was already getting nervous as he tried this morning, and it didn’t work, but Clara just told him no need.
Eve was next, and she was also an elemental mage, same as Lily; more than half of the students were elemental mages.
"Alright, there are 215 students here, so you’ll divide yourselves into two groups and you’ll be shown to your classroom, I want 107 on one side, and 108 on the other side"
Roman wasted no time in joining the other students who were already in front of Clara, some of the girls also left Alder’s side to join Clara as soon as she spoke.
"You there, count" Clara spoke to the student in front of her and she began counting the people on Clara’s side, there were 115 on that side"
"Seven people should join the other side" Clara spoke.
"Don’t worry, I’ll pick," Alder spoke, "You there, come along with your friend." Alder pointed to Eve, who was beyond shocked as she walked over to that side.
Alder didn’t mind Roman and simply picked the rest of the students till she had 107 students on her side and she began walking towards the main building.
After some minutes Clara also walked towards the main building with the students behind her.
The building itself looked big, even though it had only one floor.
It was wide and made from smooth, pale stone with large windows along the sides. At the entrance, there were two thick wooden doors, slightly open. It looked simple but was beautifully designed.
As they stepped inside, the hallway was wide, with bright lights glowing from the ceiling and polished floors.
As they walked further in, Clara stopped in front of a set of large double doors.
"This is the dueling ground," she said and pushed the doors open.
Inside was a huge room. The floor was smooth stone, marked with lines for matches and practice duels.
There were barriers set up around the space and magic shields that kept spells and attacks from escaping during fights.
There were also seats around the edges for students to sit and watch, this wasn’t like the training ground outside.
"This is where we’ll test your combat skills in the future; duels are an essential part of your life in the academy; this first week would be used to teach theory on magic, and the rest of the weeks would be practical and dueling," Clara spoke.
"Let’s move"
The students walked forward, and arrived at the classrooms; the first door they encountered had the sign Class 1 written at the top.
There were two large classrooms, one on the left and one on the right.
Each class had enough seats to fit more than a hundred students, with large windows, clean desks, and glowing crystals at the corners to light the room.
There were more doors further in, but that was for class 2 and 3 students.
Roman stepped in, and his eyes caught a seat at the edge of the room close to a window where he could see outside. He wasted no time in taking the seat; it was also at the back, not the very end.
The chairs were designed for two, and most of the girls sat at the front. Soon, all the seats were getting filled up, and someone sat beside Roman.
Roman turned to his side, and Ava was sitting there; he was a little surprised since there were clearly other seats she could have taken, but he didn’t mind.
The classroom settled down as Clara stood at the front. She waited a moment, scanning the room with a calm but sharp gaze. Once everyone had sat down she began.
"Today we’ll start with the basics—spell circles."
She raised her hand, palm facing forward. A soft blue light gathered at her fingertips, then slowly spread outward in the air like smoke taking shape.
In seconds, a glowing circle formed in front of her, perfect, detailed, and floating in the air for everyone to see.
"This is a standard spell circle. It’s what shapes and controls your mana when you cast a spell, to cast a spell you must have studied the spell circle, but for your first spell it’s different"
"The founder of magic awakening ceremony Infuses you with the knowledge of how the spell works, but to learn a new spell you have to learn the spell’s circle and use your magic to project it"
"When learning a new spell, it might prove difficult to learn at first, but in time, you’ll be so good, it’ll be like breathing, just like how I created this spell circle"
As Clara was explaining, one person among them had his eyes widened. Roman was sure Clara was talking about something, but he couldn’t see anything; she just had her right hand out and was talking about spell circles.
’What the hell is she talking about, I can’t see anything in her hands’
Ava, who was beside him, was so focused on what Clara was teaching, but suddenly, she stopped as she saw Roman.
"Roman, are you listening?" She asked and the whole class turned towards him.
"What are you doing? Concentrate Mana in your eyes," Ava whispered beside him.
’Oh shit, to see the circle I have to concentrate Mana in my eyes, that’s why I couldn’t see what she was doing, how do I concentrate Mana in my eyes’
"Yes, I’m listening," Roman spoke, moving his hand, and holding Ava.
"Infuse Mana in my body"
