Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Sell Out

Inside the dungeon, the destruction was far worse.

The chaotic blast created a massive crater across the frozen battlefield.

Everything within hundreds of meters had been obliterated.

Adonis and Valentina barely escaped the blast.

The moment the explosion occured, Valentina grabbed him and dove downward.

She smashed through the ice floor and dragged him into a deep cavity beneath the battlefield.

Both of them crouched behind a thick frozen wall while the explosion roared above them.

Chunks of ice and debris rained down around them like a collapsing avalanche.

Several seconds later, everything became quiet.

Slowly, Valentina lifted her head.

"Is it over?"

Adonis gave a nodd. "I think so."

They climbed back up through the broken ice.

The sight that greeted them was terrifying.

The entire battlefield had transformed into a gigantic crater.

Nothing remained of the Frost Giant King.

Not even fragments of its body.

Only a cluster of glowing items remained at the center of the destruction.

Valentina let out weak sjgh.

"That was...truly Impressive."

Adonis walked toward the loot calmly.

[ Boss Defeated: Frost Giant King ]

[ Experience Gained + 10,000 ]

[ Multiple Rare Drops Detected ]

The glowing items slowly revealed themselves.

Adonis crouched and began appraising them one by one.

The first item was a massive crystalline core the size of a fist.

[ Frost Monarch Ether Core ]

Grade: A

Description: A condensed energy core formed from the heart of the Frost Giant King. Contains enormous quantities of Ether and cold affinity energy.

Valentina’s eyes widened.

"A grade Ether Core?"

Adonis nodded. "Yes. It’s worth a fortune."

The next item appeared to be a heavy weapon.

The giant club carved from deep blue crystal and reinforced with ancient runic steel.

[ Glacier Titan War Club ]

Grade: C+

Attack Power: 110

Description: A weapon wielded by the Frost Giant King. Each strike releases waves of freezing shockwaves capable of slowing enemies down.

Valentina tapped the weapon with her boot.

"Now who’s going to carry this thing."

Adonis chuckled, "Haha, don’t worry. I have a spatial artifact."

The third drop was a set of thick armor plates.

They shimmered with icy frost energy.

[ Armor of the Frozen Tyrant ]

[ Grade: C ]

[ Defense Bonus: +120 ]

Special Effect: Reduces ice damage by 70 percent and increases resistance to freezing environments.

The fourth item was smaller.

It was a delicate pendant made of pale blue crystal.

[ Frozen Altar Relic ]

Grade:C+

Description: A relic formed from the altar itself. When worn, increases Ether regeneration inside ice based environments.

Adonis placed it inside his spatial pendant carefully.

Then something else caught his attention.

Adonis picked it up.

[ Ancient Frost Rune ]

Grade: Special Material

Description: A fragment of ancient ice magic used in crafting legendary weapons and artifacts.

Valentina crossed her arms. "Not bad. This thing can easily catch an old master’s eyes."

Adonis agreed.

"Yes. They’ll go mad."

He stood up and looked around the ruined battlefield.

Valentina stretched her wings slightly, looking toward the deeper tunnel behind the shattered altar.

"So. What now?"

"We’ll return to the Academy before people come investigating the dungeon."

"Mmhm, that’s for the best, Adonis. Besides, we already spent 3 days here. I am missing daylight now."

Afterward, both of them took the exit.

Outside, a chaotic situation greeted them. People were literally panicking outside the dungeon.

The divers were exiting from their respective dimensions one after another.

Many officials of the Order of the Gates were seen entering the perimeter, likely to investigate the cause of the commotion.

But it was very unlikely they would find out anything, since everything was already over.

Feeling completely reassured, Adonis took Valentina out of the perimeter.

From there, they decided to head to the market to sell some things and give each other their share.

It wasn’t like Adonis was lacking gold, but it was better to sell useless things than occupy precious space.

However, what he forgot to calculate was that the people who came to investigate the gate were not normal at all.

And they had some pretty interesting means.

---

The market district was as lively as ever.

Even at this late hour, the streets were filled with people. Swordmasters, merchants, craftsmen, and wandering buyers moved through the lantern lit alleys like restless ants.

Wooden stalls displayed monster hides, gleaming weapons, potion bottles, enchanted rings, and countless strange curiosities taken from the depths of dungeons.

Adonis and Valentina walked calmly through the crowd.

Valentina’s crimson hair drew more than a few glances, but most people quickly looked away when they noticed the faint killing aura lingering around both of them.

Eventually, Adonis stopped in front of a stone shop tucked between two larger buildings.

"Grondar’s Dungeon Materials."

Valentina tilted her head.

"Is this the place?"

Adonis nodded.

"Yes. The Dwarves rarely cheat customers. And they value reputation more than profit."

He pushed the door open..

Inside the shop, shelves were stacked from floor to ceiling with materials. Crystal cores, monster claws, magical herbs, and various weapon parts filled every corner of the room.

Behind the counter stood a short figure.

A dwarf.

He was barely taller than Valentina’s waist, but his shoulders were wide and thick like carved stone. His beard was braided into three separate strands, and a large pair of magnifying goggles rested on his forehead.

The dwarf looked up from the crystal he was examining.

"Hmm?"

His sharp eyes quickly scanned the two newcomers.

"Swordmasters, eh?"

Adonis stepped forward and placed a small pouch on the counter.

"We’re looking to sell some materials."

The dwarf rubbed his beard thoughtfully.

"Depends on what ya got."

Adonis opened the pouch, and a faint blue glow spilled across the wooden counter.

Seeing it, the dwarf’s eyes widened slightly.

"Well now..."

He leaned forward and picked up the first item.

The Frost Monarch Ether Core.

He held it under a small inspection lamp.

"Hah!"

The dwarf looked amazed,

"C grade core from a Frost Giant King. Impressive."

He looked up at Adonis again.

"Did you two young Swordmasters somehow cleared the Frozen Altar boss?"

Valentina scoffed a little,

"Does it matter?"

The dwarf chuckled.

"No. This little dwarf was just curious."

He continued inspecting the rest of the items.

The Frost Rune shard.

Several griffin claws.

Bundles of Arctic wolf fur.

And a few smaller Ether cores they collected along the way.

The dwarf placed them neatly on the counter.

Then he folded his arms.

"Alright."

He began calculating quickly.

"Wolf materials. Griffin parts. A few mid grade cores."

His finger tapped the Frost Monarch Ether Core.

"And this beauty."

"I’ll give ya 40,000 gold for all of them."

Valentina’s eyebrow twitched.

"Just 40,000?"

The dwarf shrugged.

"It’s a fair price, little girl."

Adonis shook his head. "Too low."

The dwarf smirked. "Bold claim from a young lad."

Adonis leaned slightly closer to the counter.

"A grade Ether cores alone sell for 50,000 in the eastern district."

The dwarf’s beard twitched, and Adonis continued,

"But you’re only offering 40,000 for everything combined. That’s a very bad deal in my opinion. "

The dwarf scratched his beard again.

"Hmm."

Valentina added coldly, "We can always sell somewhere else."

The dwarf stared at the Frost Monarch core again.

Then he sighed. "Alright, alright."

He raised both hands.

"No need to run off."

He scribbled a new number on a parchment.

"60,000 gold."

Adonis still remained silent.

The dwarf grunted.

"Fine. 70,000. Final offer."

Only then Adonis smiled.

"Deal."

The dwarf pulled out a heavy chest from beneath the counter.

He counted the gold coins quickly before sliding the chest forward.

"Pleasure doing business."
