Chapter 40: Chapter 40: First Attendance

Hearing the punishment, a few of his classmates gsaped while Adonis just sighed.

He might be the first student ever to receive punishment on his very first day at the Academy.

"Madam, isn’t this punishment too severe? You cannot punish me just because I praised you from the bottom of my heart."

He admitted it was partly his fault for looking at her as though he already owned her. Still, she was being far too unreasonable by wanting to ban him for one week from her lessons.

Isabella looked indifferent as she replied,

"Who said I took offense at your compliment? Rather, I feel glad a student thinks of me that way. But your punishment has nothing to do with it. I have already made that clear."

"Still so stubborn." Adonis sighed once again.

"Very well, madam."

He stepped forward, and right before everyone’s eyes, his skin and muscles became enhanced by a layer of dense Ether.

Seeing this, everyone’s eyes bulged. That included Isabella too.

"What? So fast! He did it on his first try!" a noble faction female student muttered in shock.

"And he didn’t even need to summon his Sword Soul," another added, equally surprised.

"Damn. Here I thought he would be punished. What a loss," a noble boy murmured.

"At least he’s in the teacher’s bad books. She is definitely fuming on the inside," another added with a chuckle.

Indeed, Isabella was really fuming on the inside.

"May I take my seat, Madam?" Adonis asked playfully.

"Yes, you may," she replied through gritted teeth.

While passing through Isabella, he gave his mental Command to Vexa.

"Vexa, analyze her!"

"Already done, master. Here, take a look:"

Has a deeply hidden fetish. She fantasizes about being pinned down, stripped of all clothes, and thoroughly dominated in bed while still being worshipped and praised. Her cold exterior is a shield. Once cracked, she melts completely.

Vexa’s playful voice echoed in his head right after:

<She’s a tough one, Master~ But the colder the ice, the sweeter it melts. Good luck!>

"SS-tier physique and Sword Soul? Why would I miss that? Once conquered, she will be a boon to my growth," he smirked inwardly as he went over to the commoners’ faction.

His classmates were once again baffled.

"I thought he was a noble, but it seems we have another commoner seed among us," one noble faction student mocked.

"Yeah. Good riddance. He is too arrogant. How dare he lays his greedy eyes on our goddess. She only belongs to Prince Malvis."

His flattery was indicated to a blonde-haired handsome boy, who shook his head response.

From the looks of things, he was the leader of the noble faction of this class.

"No. You’re all wrong," he said to his subordinates.

His subordinates’ gleeful faces paused at his statement.

"Why is that, Prince Malvis? Do you suspect that arrogant prick is not a commoner?" one asked.

The blonde-haired noble was surprisingly Prince Malvis Magnus, the seventh Prince of Fernis.

Alrhough... it was not too surprising considering only the elites and top-tier talents enrolled in the Nova Class.

Prince Malvis crossed his arms and replied,

"He is a Kingsbane. If my guess is right, he is related to that Kingsbane family in some way."

Most nobles didn’t know Duke Kingsbane had a null child, so that was his assumption.

His subordinates’ eyes widened. Some even unconsciously swallowed their saliva as if they recalled a legend.

"Duke Kingsbane? The Lion of the North?"

"Yes."

"Then why is he going to the commoner faction? Shouldn’t he be joining us?"

"Maybe there’s more to the story than we know. For now, let’s observe," Prince Malvis replied again.

Adonis reached the commoners’ faction seats with an easy, almost carefree stride.

The tension from the front of the class seemed to slide right off him like water on oil. He stopped in the middle of their row, flashed a bright, disarming grin, and raised both hands in a friendly wave.

"Hey everyone, my name is Adonis Kingsbane. Just got here, already in trouble, but hey, at least the view’s nice, right?"

Hearing him, a few nervous chuckles rippled through the group. Most of the commoner students still looked stunned by his Body Fortification display, but his casual tone made him approachable.

Adonis then turned first to a cluster of girls sitting near the aisle. One of them, a petite brunette with freckles and wide hazel eyes, blushed the moment his gaze landed on her.

"You’ve got the prettiest smile in the room, my lady. Mind if I sit near you so I can borrow some of that sunshine?" he flirted openly, trying to gaze their reactions.

The girl squeaked, face turning tomato-red, while her friends giggled behind their hands.

Another girl, taller with short-cropped black hair and a no-nonsense air, rolled her eyes but couldn’t quite hide her own small smile.

"Such a funny guy," she thought.

Unable to hear her internal thoughts, Adonis moved on, offering handshakes to the boys.

He gripped each one firmly, meeting their eyes with pretending warmth.

"Good to meet you, classmate. You look like the type who knows every shortcut in the library. Save me a seat there sometime?" he said to a lanky boy with glasses.

The boy blinked, then grinned despite himself. "Uh, sure, man."

He worked his way down the row like that, quick compliments for the girls, solid handshakes and easy banter for the boys, until the entire commoner section felt noticeably looser, lighter.

Even the ones who had been glaring suspiciously at the "arrogant noble-looking null" started to relax.

Theur assumption of Adonjs being just an arrogant prick changef.

But all of sudden, his footsteps slowed.

His senses, sharpened by the Chaotic Harem Body and 1 month of constant training, caught it instantly.

From the back corner, he sensed a hidden terryfying pressure, like a coiled dragon pretending to sleep.

Adonis turned his head.

There, leaning against the wall with arms crossed and one boot propped on an empty chair, sat Rai Calder.

He was the commoner prodigy hadn’t moved an inch since the lesson began.

His storm-gray just eyes locked onto Adonis without breaking contact.

No smile. No hostility.

Just pure, unfiltered evaluation, like a wolf sizing up another predator that wandered into its territory.

The atmosphere between them thickened.

Adonis felt it: A true rival. For the first time.
