Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Primordial Chaos Dragon’s Might

When all the dust died down, a horrific scene was witnessed by those who had survived.

The whole Arena had been annihilated, and what remained was just a deep, dark crater.

In the middle of the dark crater, a single figure shone like a beacon.

A figure looking like a divine angel, yet also a purple demon, wearing the face of Adonis Kingsbane emerged, flapping its golden wings.

He now had wings, claws, regal purplish horns, a tail like a devil’s, and purple scales gleaming like prismatic jewels.

In his Half Dragonification form, he looked primal and dangerous.

His form was a combination of Primordial gold and eternal purple, with the regality of a Primordial being.

Even the very space around him seemed to fluctuate because of his overwhelming power.

His sword had disappeared. In its place remained sharp claws that seemed capable of cutting through both spirits and flesh alike.

Some nobles were in awe because of his sheer presence and charm, while others trembled with fear.

Overall, to the spectators present, he was a living nightmare.

His previous Dragon Progenitor bloodline used to boost his power upto 200%, but this evolved Half-Dragon form granted him 1000% more raw power and chaos.

Also, the Crown of Bahamut doubled all power output, which successfully brought his total power to 2000%, twenty times his base.

As such, when he unleashed Chaos Ultima in this Half-Dragon form, the power output was this catastrophic.

Alina had been ruthlessly blasted away and buried beneath debris.

Meanwhile, some of the nobles who had moved closer to watch the duel with feverish excitement had been wiped from existence entirely.

Even the high and mighty spectators above had their skin burned by the heatwaves of the explosion.

They were now shaking with fear.

However, King Magnus and Queen Eleanora were completely unharmed, though the corner of the King’s lips held a trace of blood, signifying the damage he had suffered in the process of blocking that terrifying attack.

The explosion had happened too suddenly. He had been caught off guard. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Mariana was also safe, due to Claudia’s defensive Art, "Shield of Aegis."

"Are you okay, Princess?"

Mariana stood up calmly. "Yes. But is Adonis okay?"

"It appears so. But I do not know what he has become now."

Mariana looked at Adonis’s Half-Dragonification form and replied: "He has become the Destroyer of Worlds."

The title was enormously powerful, but it could not be fully denied either.

Adonis flapped his regal wings and rose upward, stopping right before King Magnus and the noble ministers.

"Do I need to prove myself any further?" Adonis asked, his voice devilishly deep, like the growl of an ancient beast.

King Magnus shook his head calmly. "No, you do not. I agree to take you as my Son-in-law. You are welcome to stay in our Palace for as long as you like, Adonis."

"HAHAHAHA!!" Adonis laughed out loud. "You still think I have not seen your true face, oh King?"

He snorted in disdain.

"You wanted me dead, and all of this was a carefully planned trap."

His gaze pierced deep into the King’s pupils.

"I can see greed in those eyes. This careful plan was not simply because you did not want me as your Son-in-law. The real reason is something else entirely. Could it be because of the Gratis Kingdom?"

At this, the King’s eyes narrowed, confirming Adonis’s suspicion.

"So it is true." Adonis confirmed, his eyes dark. "You are colluding with the same people who murdered my mother."

King Magnus did not deny it.

And this made Mariana furious.

"How could you do this, Father? You have deceived your own daughter. You have lied as a King. You have disgraced the whole Kingdom."

"Disgraced the whole Kingdom?" King Magnus spoke mockingly.

"Do you even know how this Kingdom is run, my dear daughter? It does not run on love, nor on kindness.

Do you even know how important our alliance with the Gratis Kingdom is?"

Mariana had no answers.

King Magnus continued, "The Dark Sea lies to the West, posing an imminent threat to our nation. Fernis, Gratis, and two other Kingdoms are in this alliance to hold off the hollow creatures lurking in the ocean depths. If the alliance is broken, our Kingdom will be the first to fall.

Everyone will die. Children, the elderly, merchants, soldiers, farmers. Every breathing soul within these walls and beyond them."

"That is what is at stake. That is what has always been at stake. And you stand there and call it disgrace."

"Still, it doesn’t give you the right to deceive your daughter. You have made me ashamed in front of my would be husband," Mariana replied sadly.

"This was a necessity, Mariana. You should try to understand," King replied.

"They had murdered his mother, Father. Yet, you colluded with those people. This is disgusting.

You looked me in the eye and handed me a duel dressed up as a test and called it a chance for the man I love.

Do not speak to me about necessity as though it cleans your hands."

A long silence followed.

Several ministers looked at the floor. Others looked at the King, waiting for the rebuttal that would settle this, the firm and kingly word that would remind everyone present of the hierarchy of this conversation.

It did not come.

King Magnus looked at his daughter across the space between them, the ruined arena below, the purple sky above, and something moved behind his eyes that was too brief and too buried to name clearly before it was gone again.

"Everything I have done," he said at last, "has been for this Kingdom."

"And everything I do now, is for myself," she replied.

She reached up to her collar.

Pinned there, as it had been since the day she was old enough to wear it, was the royal insignia of House Magnus.

It was a small thing by the measure of grand gestures, a silver crest no larger than a coin, but it carried the weight of bloodline and title and every expectation that had been placed on her shoulders since birth.

She unpinned it.

She looked at it for a moment in her palm, this small silver thing that had defined the first Chapter of her life, and then she set it down carefully on the stone railing before her.

She did not throw it. She did not crush it in her fist or hurl it at his feet. She simply set it down with the calm finality of someone closing a door they had no intention of reopening.

"Right this instance, I revoke my right as First Princess of the Fernis Kingdom," she said clearly, loudly enough for every minister and noble present to hear without question.

"I revoke the Magnus name."

The gasps that swept through the gathered crowd were immediate and uncontrolled:

"This is madness!"

"Princess Mariana has gone mad. How can he give up her noble status like that?

"Foolish. She is Very foolish."

King Magnus went very silent, while Queen Eleanora was in disbelief.

"Daughter, what are you doing? Take it back. Your father is deeply hurt." she said to Mariana.

"No mother. This person isn’t the same father I once had. He has become a devil," Maria replied, extremely cold.

"Mariana." King Magnus warned, "You do not understand what you are giving up."

"I understand perfectly," she said. "I have spent my entire life understanding what it means to carry your name. What it costs. What it asks of me."

She looked at him one final time.

"I am done paying that cost."

She turned away from the railing.

Turned away from the silver crest sitting on the stone.

Turned away from King Magnus, who stood with his vast starry aura coiled around him and said nothing more, because there was nothing left that he could say that she would receive.

She looked up at Adonis, hovering above with his golden wings spread and those burning eyes watching her with an expression that held no pity and no hesitation.

Just certainty. The same certainty he had carried into this arena from the very first step.

She straightened her back proudly.

"From today, my name is Mariana Adonis."
