Chapter 80: Start of the Battle.

The moment the female vampire lunged, the air rippled with a sudden shift in pressure—an

oppressive weight that made the hairs on Ethan’s arms stand straight.

He barely had a second to react.

Clang!

Warlord’s Fang met her clawed strike in midair, the impact jarring up his arms like he’d

slammed into a boulder. His boots skidded back across the ancient stone, trailing dust.

If not for his quick reflexes, the curved claw aiming for his throat would’ve ended the fight before it

began.

"Tch—fast," Ethan muttered, eyes narrowing.

The vampire smiled, feral and bloodthirsty. But she didn’t get to strike again.

A steel axe flew through the air, spinning end over end before slamming into her shoulder with

a thud. She twisted just in time, the blade grazing instead of embedding, but it was enough.

Daniel charged in after the throw, shouting, "Now!"

Reyna was already in motion. "Let’s gut this corpse, don’t ya!"

She leapt high and brought her massive longsword down like a hammer. The vampire blocked

it with an arm braced in front of her, but the force of the blow sent her staggering back.

Ethan saw the opening. "Battle Focus—engage."

The world slowed around him.

He shot forward like a shadow streaking through moonlight, his blade gleaming with a smoky

aura. "Nightmare Veil."

A dark shimmer cloaked his body, bending the light around him. His figure blurred and wavered

—less human, more specter.

He weaved through the vampire’s next slash and came up beside her, his sword carving a wide

arc. "Abyss Rend!"

A wave of dark energy exploded from Warlord’s Fang, sweeping across the battlefield like a

crescent-shaped storm. It tore through the cracked floor and blasted into the vampire, sending

her tumbling through the air.

She crashed against a pillar, stone cracking with a thunderous groan. Dust billowed.

"She’s not as tough as I thought," Daniel said, gripping his axe tighter.

"Don’t get cocky," Ethan warned.

Reyna stomped forward, swinging her sword into a ready stance. "Let’s end her while she’s

down, don’t ya!"

The vampire groaned as she pushed herself up. Blood trickled from the corner of her lips.

Then she laughed. A low, chilling chuckle.

"Well, well..." she said, rising slowly to her feet. "You actually managed to wound me. It’s been

centuries since anyone made me bleed."

Ethan’s eyes narrowed. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"Time to stop playing," she whispered.

She brought her hand to her mouth—and bit down. Crimson ichor welled up. She drank deeply

from her own blood.

The moment it slid down her throat, the air changed.

The dungeon walls trembled.

The vampire’s form convulsed... then burst with power. Dark mist coiled around her body,

swirling like a cocoon before dispersing in a shockwave. Her figure emerged, transformed.

Her skin glowed pale, almost luminous. A tight, blood-red corset hugged her slender waist,

framing curves that seemed sculpted to distract and devastate.

Flowing crimson fabric trailed behind her like liquid fire. Black wings—sleek and leathery—spread wide from her back, casting long shadows.

Her eyes glowed like rubies, and the tips of her fangs peeked out as she smirked.

"Well, little boy..." Her voice dripped with hunger and amusement. "Shall we dance?"

"She’s gorgeous..." Daniel muttered, blinking hard.

"Snap out of it," Ethan snapped. "She’s trying to mess with our heads."

Reyna didn’t even flinch. She just rolled her neck and raised her sword. "Doesn’t matter if she’s

wearin’ a dress or not. I’ll carve her in half, don’t ya!"

The vampire tilted her head, grin widening. Then she vanished.

Ethan’s eyes widened. Where—

She reappeared mid-air above them, descending like a spear of death.

"Scatter!" Ethan roared.

All three dove aside as the vampire slammed into the ground with explosive force, shattering

the stone floor beneath her feet.

Daniel recovered first, hurling his axe again. She swatted it aside mid-spin.

Reyna followed with a leaping strike, blade glowing with raw force. The vampire caught it with

one clawed hand—caught it—and slammed Reyna back with a burst of strength.

Ethan surged forward, shadowstepping behind her.

[Shadowstep Cooldown: 10s]

He aimed for her back—only for her to pivot with inhuman grace and lash out with a kick.

Crack.

Ethan flew across the room and smashed into a stone pillar, breath torn from his lungs. He

staggered up, coughing blood.

"She’s faster now..." he growled.

The vampire walked calmly toward him, red eyes alight with cruel pleasure. "You awakened me.

You’ll regret that."

Ethan wiped his mouth and smirked, despite the pain. "You talk too much."

He raised his blade again.

Behind the vampire, Reyna was already charging back in. Daniel circled to flank.

But this time, the vampire twisted and raised a hand, gathering blood-red magic into a swirling

ball. She hurled it at Daniel, who threw up his aura in a glowing shield just in time.

The blast exploded, shaking the walls. Daniel skidded back, panting.

"That’s all you’ve got?!" he shouted, trying to steady himself.

The vampire licked blood from her lips. "Hardly."

Suddenly, she lunged for Reyna again, this time faking high and slashing low. Claws raked

across Reyna’s thigh, leaving crimson gashes.

Reyna hissed. "Bitch... I’ll break every bone in yer body, don’t ya..." She staggered but lunged

back in, driving her sword upward.

The vampire caught it between her palms. Sparks flew as steel shrieked against claw.

"Adorable. You think you’re warriors."

Ethan darted in again, aiming a thrust for her exposed flank. But she turned just enough that

the blade only nicked her side.

"Fast..." Ethan muttered. "But not perfect."

He grinned, even as blood dripped down his chin. "I’ll carve you into dust."

The vampire hissed. "I’d love to watch you try."

The fight had only just begun.

But Ethan could feel it in his bones. This wasn’t just a battle. This was a storm.

And he was going to survive it.
