SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System-Chapter 157: Conqueror’s Will Vs Ruler’s Aura!
Unsheathing her sword, Elyndra tightly gripped the hilt of Regal Severance in her right hand, pointing it towards Ainsworth as she declared firmly, "Regardless, I want to spar with you, Ainsworth!"
When Ainsworth heard Elyndra’s declaration to spar with him, a thought popped up inside his mind, ’Spar with me? If it’s on the bed, then I accept!’
He only kept it as a thought as he dared not voice it to Elyndra. After all, while he had interactions with Elyndra and Mira before, they were mostly school-related stuff. So, he didn’t know what Elyndra’s view of him was, and he didn’t want her meager impression of him to even worsen.
Of course, if he had the SSS-rank Lustful Incubus class, he felt that he could have spoken it out without having to mind what others think. Since such an Awakener class was related to lust and whatnot, it was perfectly normal if his personality inclined to it.
Unfortunately, while he had Freedom of Speech (SSS), he knew that having the freedom to speak doesn’t mean he had to speak every time and abuse it.
’From what I have seen via the world records, Elyndra should be a Two-Star A-rank Awakener, literally only one star lower than the rank I received when I finished my First Otherworld Mission.’
’However, her main class is quite powerful, and it even has a special stat attribute that scales with her Rulership. If I let her rule all the territories I conquered using God-Level Conqueror, and made the Church of Evolution the state religion of her empire in the Otherworld, wouldn’t that make us too compatible?’
’I am not that interested in establishing an empire or managing a territory, which is why I have let my Apostles and High Priests deal with such matters. If I have Elyndra on my otherworld team, I can rest assured about letting her handle that work.’
Although Ainsworth was unaware that Elyndra had established the Valford Empire, named after both of them, he still could guess that Elyndra should have already established a vast empire and dominated an Otherworld, or else she wouldn’t have such a high Rulership stat attribute.
While he already knew her Awakener rank, he could determine that her combat power was way higher than her rank. With her power, it wouldn’t be impossible to defeat Monster Lord Skarnax if she went all out.
’Although I don’t know what her intentions are for requesting to spar with me, her power is already the greatest among those who completed their first Otherworld Mission, so it isn’t blind confidence.’
’I can easily defeat her as it’s not like I haven’t defeated SS-rank Monster Lords and Demon Lords, but I really want to get to know her more, and this spar will be an excellent opportunity to do so.’
With his SSS-rank Grand Archivist sub-class, he could easily see through her intentions and know what she wanted, but he didn’t like using it to peek into private information. He still had his own principles, and he only planned to use them against enemies and opponents.
Materializing two kitchen knives using Formless Sharp Blades (SSS) skill, Ainsworth held them in both hands as he planned to use the combat style brought by his God-Level Cooking talent rather than his God-Level Assassin talent.
The latter could easily be used to kill her in one blow, so he didn’t want to use it. After all, it wasn’t a fight to the death but merely a spar. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
After taking out his weapons, Ainsworth noticed that Elyndra hadn’t retracted her Ruler’s Aura despite him being clearly unaffected by it.
"Do you really want to spar with me? Not to brag, but I have become overpowered and only a few can defeat me."
Not wanting to lose to her in momentum, Ainsworth then released his God-Level Conqueror talent’s Conqueror’s Will.
The moment Ainsworth released his Conqueror’s Will, the Mission Center trembled.
A different kind of weight filled the mission center. If Elyndra’s Ruler’s Aura pressed down with the absolute authority of a sovereign demanding submission, Ainsworth’s Conqueror’s Will surged outward like an endless tide, not demanding submission but making submission feel inevitable.
The very air thickened as ancient war banners, unseen yet felt, seemed to unfurl behind him. The rhythm of marching armies and the clash of steel resounded faintly in the minds of all present, as if entire civilizations knelt in reverence across infinite realities.
It was not the domination of a tyrant. It was the proclamation of a ruler who had seized thrones, toppled dynasties, and burned his mark into history itself.
Nyx, Aria, and Isolde instinctively stiffened. Though they were unaffected by his will thanks to their high Spirit attributes and the fact that Ainsworth didn’t focus it on them, they still felt the echo of an undeniable truth: this was the aura of one who conquered not by bloodline nor decree, but by will and right of conquest.
Elyndra’s golden crown of rulership glowed brighter as she pressed her Ruler’s Aura harder. Her aura struck like iron chains, trying to clamp down on all resistance, crushing the soul until nothing remained but obedience.
Countless phantom Subjects knelt behind her presence, their loyalty feeding her strength. It was the essence of tyranny perfected, the right to command all within sight.
Yet, Ainsworth’s Conqueror’s Will did not shatter beneath that weight. Instead, it rose to meet it.
Where her aura demanded loyalty, his will ignited it. Where her chains sought to bind, his banners inspired defiance, only to bend it into chosen allegiance.
The clash of both was like two great empires colliding: tyranny against conquest, domination against destiny.
Golden authority clashed against the tide of crimson banners. The collision shook the surroundings, forcing cracks into the marble floor as the wills of two sovereigns warred.
Elyndra narrowed her eyes. "Your will... rejects subjugation itself?"
Ainsworth’s lips curved slightly. "No. My will does not reject it. It conquers it."
Ruler’s Aura forced others to kneel, but Conqueror’s Will made them kneel willingly. That difference began to tilt the balance.
Phantom legions manifested in Ainsworth’s aura, warlords, generals, and emperors whose collective experience surged through him. Their chants drowned out the silence, and the oppressive chains of Elyndra’s aura faltered under the tide.
Her Spirit was formidable, enough to suppress any lesser being. Yet against the conceptual breadth of Conqueror’s Will, her aura began to bend. Not break, but bend. The golden crown flickered faintly, suppressed not through brute force but through inevitability.
At the mission center, Mira’s closed eyes fluttered slightly. Even in her slumber, her Judicature Veil resonated faintly as if acknowledging the duel of sovereignty.
Elyndra gripped Regal Severance tighter, her battle fervor igniting. Though her Ruler’s Aura wavered, she smiled sharply. "So this is the true power of a conqueror."
Ainsworth’s expression remained calm, his knives gleaming in his hands. His will pressed harder, the phantom legions roaring their cry. "And this is just a fraction of my power."
Conqueror’s Will gained the upper hand!
Although Elyndra knew that she could have a high chance of overpowering Ainsworth’s Conqueror’s Will if she went all out and didn’t just solely rely on Ruler’s Aura, that alone made her realize that she had lost.
After all, she was trying to defeat Ainsworth’s hobby with her specialization! Elyndra knew that Ainsworth’s Conqueror’s Will wasn’t related to his SSS-rank Freedom Freelancer class, yet she didn’t gain any upper hand in their confrontation.
Elyndra wondered, ’Is Ainsworth’s Spirit attribute way higher than mine, or is his sub-class related to conquering? No matter what, it’s quite surprising that an Awakener related to the concept of freedom possessed the concept of conquest and domination.’
’His power level should be way above mine, but winning against him isn’t the purpose of my spar anyway.’
In the end, Elyndra didn’t choose to back down, but first, she retracted her Ruler’s Aura, which prompted Ainsworth to do the same with his Conqueror’s Will.
Elyndra lowered her sword slightly, her voice steady yet carrying a trace of anticipation, "It has been a long time since we met again, and I want to know the gap between us. However, we can’t spar in the Mission Center as it won’t be able to handle our power."
"Do you want to fight in the Dimensional Void or at Edenbridge High’s dueling area?"
Faced with Elyndra’s question, Ainsworth didn’t refuse sparring with her, as it had indeed been a long time since they met. He didn’t know how long it was for Elyndra, but for him it was a year and a month.
Looking at her expression, he could guess that Elyndra’s first Otherworld Mission took way longer than his.
Ainsworth smirked lightly, twirling one of his conjured knives, "Let’s fight in the dueling area. The Dimensional Void isn’t peaceful yet due to those Demon Kings."
Since Ainsworth agreed to spar with her, Elyndra led him to Edenbridge High’s dueling area with Mira, Nyx, Isolde, and Aria following behind the two of them.
