SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 243: Unexpected allies
Chapter 243: Unexpected allies
Damon was about to conjure a crimson lance when a familiar voice sounded in his ears. "I have disrupted the wyrm’s domain. You can teleport now."
Damon did not need a second reminder. His body reacted on instinct, and the next second, he disappeared from the battlefield and appeared inside the blood hall, panting and heaving.
A split second later, the wyrm’s colossal claw slammed down where he had stood, cratering the earth into molten ruin.
Its enraged glare shifted to the blood hall instead, and it was about to come crashing into the defense layer when suddenly something golden, like a comet, shot towards it and boom! An enormous shockwave erupted.
Damon’s eyes widened as he recognized who it was.
Mark was here, and he was not alone. On the other side, Kate had already started bombarding the dragon with one blood orb after another, chipping away at its health.
Both Mark and Kate had safely returned on their own, and from the looks of it, they also had some sort of gains in the process. But that was not the only surprising turn of events.
A gorgeous, sexy vampire teleported next to him, the same voice greeting him again. "Blood acolyte, you have exceeded my expectations. I have never seen a talent like you in a million years!"
Ellora seductively glided closer, her crimson eyes gleaming with admiration and something more primal. The aura of ancient power that surrounded her pulsed with allure and command, wrapping around Damon like silk soaked in blood. Her voice, velvet-smooth, thrummed with a faint purr of amusement and intrigue.
"I watched you," she said, circling him like a predator inspecting its prey or perhaps an empress admiring a rare jewel. "You faced a wyrm’s wrath and stood your ground. You shattered its pride, tasted its essence, and lived to grin about it. Tell me, Blood God..." She leaned close, her breath brushing his ear, "Do you know what you’ve just done?"
Still panting, blood smearing his face and arms, Damon managed a crooked grin. "I made it mad," he rasped. "Really, really mad."
Damon was really surprised that Ellora, this money-grubbing old hag, was here. Not just that. Now that he had a chance to look around, he noticed many other named vampire NPCs filling the blood hall.
There was definitely a new influx of NPCs in this battle. The vampire side was sorely lacking in numbers, so right now, this was sweet, sweet good news to Damon. Any numbers could only improve their chances.
"What are you looking at, blood acolyte?" Ellora grinned.
"Someone threw a lot of money into the vampire coffers. Otherwise, none of these old bastards would be here. You fought hard. But you can rest now. A wyrm or two is nothing big. In fact, I have sent the word already. There are a few vampires I know who are looking for wyrm blood. Who would think such a rare beast would pop up in this remote corner of the world?"
Damon let out a shaky exhale. Around him, the Blood Hall surged with energy. Elders long absent from the frontlines barked orders and opened spell circles that shimmered with ancient glyphs. Warlocks and knights clad in deep crimson armor lined the hall’s balconies, peering out toward the chaos beyond the barrier.
The entire fortress had come alive. The vampire faction was doing a full-on counterattack!
"Blood Acolyte, your performance has been extraordinary in this battle. Treat yourself to a dip in the blood pool. It should refresh you instantly." Another vampire NPC patted Damon as he passed by.
Damon did not have to wonder why everyone was treating him so well. The leaderboard shining bright and center in the blood hall had his name on top and a ridiculous 10,000 plastered next to it. The last time Damon checked, it was around 2000, but now it had exploded.
The next name was Mark’s, and he was only at 100. Kate was 50. Surprisingly, another name popped up just as he was looking and had a big number attached to it to boot.
Blood Wraith: 1000
Damon was slightly surprised as he had almost completely forgotten about this guy, the huge whale who had casually gifted him many gold coins. Was this the guy responsible for the money infusion in vampire coffers? Now, the sudden movement of the vampire NPCs made sense.
"Blood Wraith and his sister..." Damon mused. Their last interaction hadn’t been so smooth, and he did not foresee them becoming allies. However, since this person had helped him when he really needed it, he would reconsider things.
Taking another look at the leaderboard, he walked to the blood pool to see if he could really adjust his current state. The blood pool was now crimson, silver, and golden in color as it sloshed like a slumbering leviathan, each wave pulsing with raw vitality, rich blood essence, and calming elixirs.
Damon stood at its edge, swaying slightly as he stared down into the roiling mixture. He could feel the pull of the blood even before his foot touched it. Without hesitation, Damon stepped in.
The moment his skin touched the blood, the effect was immediate. Agony and ecstasy roared through his veins like twin storms colliding. His wounds knit themselves shut with sickening speed. Burnt flesh was replaced by smooth, hardened skin.
His mana core surged with renewed vigor and gained a little stability. His mind felt clearer, and every part of his body was bursting with energy.
[Ding! You have used the recovery sigil of the Blood Sovereign clan.]
[Effect: Fully restores Health, Mana, and Stamina. Temporarily boosts recovery speed by 300% for the next 10 minutes.]
[Ding! You cannot use the sigil for another 30 days.]
"Fair enough." Damon chuckled as he cleared the notifications and stepped out of the blood pool. He now felt completely refreshed as if he was in the best state of his entire life. It was now time for round two, alright! Today no matter what he was determined to devour that wyrm!
