Chapter 75: Chapter 75: The Dungeon’s Grip

Kael and the other explorers watched in disbelief.

These were Bronze Squad members.

Low ranked.

Yet their strength, coordination, and battlefield awareness far exceeded expectations.

More than power, their experience was obvious.

Ryn finally stepped forward once the battle ended.

His gaze met Kael’s.

"You’re the leader here," Ryn said calmly.

Kael nodded, still catching his breath.

"Reinforcements have entered the dungeon," Ryn explained. "Our mission is to locate all explorers and escort everyone out safely. Other teams are already operating across different routes."

Relief spread across Kael’s group.

They bowed deeply in gratitude.

"Thank you for saving us," Kael said sincerely.

Ryn shook his head.

"We’re all squad members," he replied. "No one stands above the other here."

His tone was firm but not harsh. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Our commander taught us one thing above all else. We keep each other alive."

The words carried quiet weight.

Then he added, "Watch carefully. Learn from what you see. This situation is dangerous, but it’s also a chance to grow stronger."

Kael and the others listened seriously.

They had witnessed the difference between raw strength and refined experience. The lesson was clear without needing further explanation.

"Form up," Ryn ordered.

The combined group reorganized quickly and began moving toward the regroup point. The rescued explorers followed closely, their confidence slowly returning under the protection of the reinforcement squad.

Throughout the dungeon, the rescue operation continued steadily.

Struggling explorers were found.

Ambushes were cleared.

Formations were rebuilt.

And step by step, the scattered survivors moved toward safety.

Yet even as order was restored, the dungeon continued to grow restless.

The mana thickened.

The respawns increased.

And somewhere deeper within its shifting corridors, Arthur continued moving on his own path, unaware of the rescue operation that went on in the dungeon currently.

As he fought smiling.

Not the careful smile he wore around others. Not the quiet one he hid behind. This one was open, alive, almost wild.

The dungeon had grown more dangerous. The monsters had grown faster, more aggressive, and endless in number.

And he loved it.

Steel flashed as his dagger moved. A goblin fell before it even finished its swing. Another rushed from the side and Arthur stepped forward instead of back, his body flowing with instinct.

A sharp step.

A twist.

A clean strike.

The creature dropped.

Arthur let out a quiet breath, his chest rising slowly. His eyes shone with excitement rather than fear.

"So this is strength..." he muttered.

It felt good.

To move freely. To fight without hesitation. To act on his will and see the world respond. Back on earth he had lived carefully, always restrained, always limited. Here, danger existed everywhere, yet for the first time he felt alive.

This world was harsh.

But it was honest.

If you were strong, you survived. If you weren’t, you disappeared.

Arthur had already made his choice.

"I’ll climb to the top of this world," he said quietly to himself, adjusting his grip on his dagger. "No matter what."

And he meant it.

His routine never stopped.

Kill. Harvest. Move. Repeat.

His Sovereign’s Perception remained active, spreading outward like an invisible web. The dungeon unfolded in his mind through distortions in mana flow. Every movement, every gathering presence, every shift in energy painted a picture he could follow.

Because of it, goblin ambushes never truly caught him.

Before danger reached him, he already knew.

When groups gathered behind him, he changed direction. When monsters lurked ahead, he prepared his steps. When mana fluctuated strangely, he slowed and observed.

The skill felt natural now. Like another sense he had always possessed.

Arthur smiled faintly.

"Too useful."

Yet the constant respawns made the environment chaotic. Distortions overlapped and shifted rapidly, making it difficult to distinguish between monsters and humans.

He tried searching for signs of the other explorers at first.

But the dungeon had become too noisy.

Too crowded, and too unstable.

After some time, he stopped trying.

"They knew what they signed up for," he murmured.

Still, he quietly wished for their safety. Not out of attachment, but simple understanding. Everyone who stepped into the dungeon accepted the same risk.

Survive or die.

Another goblin lunged at him.

But Arthur sidestepped smoothly and drove his dagger into its throat. The body collapsed instantly.

He didn’t even pause before crouching to extract the core.

His movements were fast now, practiced. Clean cuts, precise harvest, quick storage. Every action flowed into the next.

His storage device filled steadily with monster cores, crude weapons, and materials.

As he checked his pouch briefly, a satisfied grin appeared.

"At this rate... fifty yen is guaranteed."

Repaying his debt was no longer a distant goal. And beyond that, he would finally have enough to grow stronger, to prepare, to invest in himself.

Opportunity.

That was what this dungeon was.

And he would take everything it offered.

Then his expression shifted slightly.

A different distortion appeared within his perception.

Arthur stopped moving.

This one was not like the others.

It was larger. Denser. More stable. Multiple mana signatures gathered into one direction, moving together like a steady current.

He closed his eyes briefly, focusing.

"...A group."

No.

Several groups merging.

And they were heading toward the exit.

Arthur tilted his head thoughtfully.

"The explorers?"

That was the most likely answer. The pattern suggested organized movement rather than scattered survival. The flow felt controlled, almost protected.

Reinforcements perhaps.

Or a full retreat.

He wasn’t completely certain, but he preferred the best interpretation.

"If they’re leaving... then the mission’s ending."

He exhaled slowly.

That meant his time here was limited.

He should leave soon.

But he wasn’t done.

The dungeon’s mutation had increased the monster population drastically. Opportunities like this didn’t come often.

Arthur’s lips curved into a wicked grin.

"I can just follow behind them."

If the explorers cleared a path, monsters would scatter, loot would be abandoned, and resources would be left behind in the rush to retreat.

Why waste that?

He stretched his shoulders lightly.

"Let’s linger a little longer."

His eyes burned with quiet hunger.
