Yang Yi dozed off next to Kate’s bed; he couldn’t get to his own because Kate had grabbed his hand and hadn’t let go even after she fell asleep.

When Yang Yi was startled awake by a knock at the door, he immediately looked up, tensely asking, “Who is it?”

“Danny.”

Yang Yi took a deep breath; Kate had already let go of his hand and was just staring at him with eyes wide open, a look of terror on her face.

“Don’t be afraid, it’s one of us.”

After comforting Kate in a soft voice, Yang Yi quickly walked to the door and opened it.

Danny stepped inside, looked around the room, and then said in a low voice, “Come with me, let’s talk over here.”

Yang Yi turned to Kate, who was watching him, and said, “I’ll be back soon, wait for me, don’t be scared.”

He closed the door behind him and followed Danny into the room across the hall.

It wasn’t until Yang Yi had entered the room opposite that he realized two other people were already there, both of Chinese descent, and both looking fit and alert.

The two greeted Danny in unison; Danny, looking exhausted, nodded and then flopped down on the couch in the guest room before getting straight to the point without wasting any time, “There’s an answer to your issue.

Last night, we contacted the Masser Group.

Yang Yi, surprised, said, “That was quick?”

A chill ran through Yang Yi.

Danny’s expression remained serious as he explained, “We’ve confirmed the identity of the assassin; they’re the Destroyers, an active group of hitmen in Western Europe.

This assassin group isn’t the best, but they’re the most accessible and the boldest.

If the Shadow had sent an assassin, you’d be dead by now.

The Destroyers are admittedly crude in their methods, not discreet enough, and not clean in their kill, but they will never give up the commission and won’t admit to failing the mission.

The Destroyers will surely pursue you relentlessy.”

Yang Yi nodded slightly and asked in a low voice, “What about the Cicero Family?

What’s their reaction?”

“The Cicero Family hasn’t shown any reaction because we haven’t contacted them.

Yang Yi exhaled and said, “Finding a scapegoat is easy; Daniel, who orchestrated all this, is the insider.
