Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 1308 - 1286: Preparing for Surgery
"Yes." The guard led Dr. Han to the guest room.
Ya Qianhuai lived in the main building to the north, and he rarely encountered her as it was. If he knew she was unwell, he probably wouldn’t intentionally seek her out these days. He and Chu Xinyue lived in the northeast main building, where all his confidants were, so the news of her pregnancy wouldn’t reach Ya Qianhuai.
Ya Chen pondered for a moment before heading to the staircase.
As he descended, there were rustling noises ahead, as if someone was standing downstairs waiting for him.
"Chen." It was Lan Yurou’s voice.
Ya Chen halted his steps, the unfathomable look in his eyes revealing a trace of coldness, a hint of severity appearing at the corners of his lips.
If the woman that night was Chu Xinyue, then it meant that he hadn’t slept with Lan Yurou at all.
Which meant the child in Lan Yurou’s belly had another origin.
She dared to frame the Ya Family.
Lan Yurou, seeing his intimidating silence, assumed he was still angry. Despite being somewhat frightened, she cautiously approached:
"I just apologized to Uncle. I said I held a press conference announcing my retirement to make you and Uncle happy. Uncle has forgiven me and didn’t say anything."
He restrained himself for a long time before suppressing the anger rising between his brows: "Hmm. Anything else?"
Lan Yurou glanced weakly upstairs: "...I just heard the Crown Princess was unwell, so you brought her back. Is she alright?"
"She’s fine."
"Then... is the Crown Princess moving back here to live?" This question was Lan Yurou’s main reason for coming over.
"What else? She’s part of the Ya Family. If she doesn’t live here, where else would she live?" Ya Chen raised an eyebrow in retort.
Lan Yurou instinctively clenched her fists but dared not ask anything further: "Then I’ll head back to my room. You should get some rest too."
Saying this, she turned and walked out the front door.
Listening to Lan Yurou’s footsteps gradually fade, Ya Chen’s expression quickly turned gloomy again. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
The most important thing at the moment was Chu Xinyue’s abortion surgery.
The issue regarding the illegitimate child in Lan Yurou’s belly could be dealt with later.
If he exposed Lan Yurou now, given his father’s temper and the Royal Family’s dignity and rules, she would surely meet a bad end.
Lan Yurou had to be fine; nothing should happen to her.

Chu Xinyue returned to the Ya Family for a few days and hadn’t seen Xiaotao. Only a maid, a confidant of Ya Chen, delivered her three meals a day and her heart medicine, and she couldn’t go out, making her realize that Ya Chen had confined her.
He didn’t want news of her pregnancy reaching the family because he had no intention of keeping the child.
Every time the maid came, Chu Xinyue would clamor to see Ya Chen, but there was no response.
Having the child, she didn’t dare to do anything reckless like breaking down doors or jumping out of windows.
But she couldn’t just sit and wait for him to one day put her on the operating table.
There was only one way to get him to see her.
She heard the maid say that ever since she returned to the Ya Family, Ya Chen had also moved back and was no longer spending all his time in the office building or with the military.
The Ya Family said that her return had brought some improvement to her relationship with Ya Chen, but she knew that Ya Chen was only keeping a closer watch on her.
Until that day, a maid came to deliver food again.
Opening the door, she saw a frail silhouette sitting by the bed, pills scattered all over the floor.
They were all the heart medicines delivered daily.
It seemed they had piled up for many days, not taken.
The maid was startled, put down the bowl and chopsticks, and turned to leave.
Chu Xinyue knew the maid would report to Ya Chen, so she quietly waited.
Sure enough, as she anticipated, not long after nightfall, she heard urgent footsteps at the door, followed by a forceful sound of a door being pushed.
The door burst open.
She saw Ya Chen standing coldly in front of her, with two confidant guards and Dr. Han behind him.
He instructed the three to wait outside, came straight in, and pushed the room door shut behind him. His dark face bespoke a restrained rage:
"Why aren’t you taking your medicine?"
"It’s not good for the baby." She lifted her sharp chin slightly, showing her determination.
He was silent for a moment, then spoke coldly, "No matter what, this surgery is happening."
"I want to see Father." She didn’t believe Ya Qianhuai would allow him to abort the child.
He had already guessed she’d say this to draw him over, a cool smile playing at the corners of his lips: "Which father? If you’re talking about your father, I believe Father-in-law would prefer you to abort. If it’s my father, do you think he would choose a healthy grandchild or one who might have a congenital heart condition, affecting the Ya Family’s health lineage?"
Chu Xinyue was stunned.
Yes.
Both she and Lan Yurou bore children of the Ya Family, but Lan Yurou’s child was healthy, while her child might have defects, and birth was uncertain. If something went wrong, it could mean two lives lost, affecting relations between the Ya and Chu families, and Ya Qianhuai might not support her carrying the child to term.
She always understood that as Ya Qianhuai’s daughter-in-law, she was merely a mascot in his eyes. Ya Qianhuai never expected her frail body to bear a child for the Ya Family; her role was to behave and maintain the Royal Family’s image.
If Lan Yurou wasn’t pregnant, Ya Qianhuai might have valued the child in her belly.
But now, Ya Qianhuai had the grandchild he considered in mind, his heart set on Lan Yurou’s womb, making her child perhaps dispensable or less critical to the Ya Family.
Ya Chen’s indifferent voice continued: "You don’t need to worry about the childbearing issues. Just prepare for the surgery."
With that, he called for the guard outside.
The guard entered, handing Chu Xinyue a glass of water and some pills.
"Take the medicine. Don’t be capricious. Your body won’t hold up, which will affect the surgery." His tone was still devoid of emotion.
Her heart seemed to crack open, the pain spasming in intervals. She raised her hand sluggishly, reaching for the guard’s glass, slowly gripping the rim but suddenly smashing it onto the ground, causing water to splash and glass to shatter everywhere!
"You can treat it as trash, as a burden. I cannot. Get out, I won’t take the medicine, and I won’t undergo surgery. Get out."
She clenched her quivering silver teeth.
Ya Chen’s face turned dark.
The guard gasped, quickly tidying up the glass shards on the floor.
He could hear her low sobs, suppressed and weak, yet clear to the ear.
Over the years, perhaps he hadn’t spent much time with her, and he had rarely heard her cry.
Yet here she was, crying so heartbreakingly.
He was very curious about what her crying face would look like, probably tear-streaked and pitiful.
But fortunately, he couldn’t see, allowing his heart to remain hard as stone, without softening.
"Get some rest." He turned, ready to leave.
