Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 1283 - 1261: Lan Yurou Is Missing
Although the girl was angry with the boy, it was clear she still had some feelings for him. Even though she refused the proposal, she couldn’t bring herself to break away from him.
As a result, the two quarreled back and forth without reaching any conclusion.
Ya Chen frowned, feeling disturbed by the dining environment. He was unhappy and raised his voice, simply ending the argument for the pair:
"Miss, if a man is marrying you just because of your belly, then the next day he might divorce you for another woman with a bigger belly. You’re probably just in your twenties and still very young. Are you afraid you can’t find a man? The tears you shed after marriage come from the water that flooded your brain now. Go home and think it over clearly."
Chu Xinyue wanted to cover his mouth but was too late. What business was it of his if others were quarreling!
The girl heard Ya Chen’s words and finally made up her mind. She fiercely shook off the boy and walked out.
The boy glared irritably in Ya Chen’s direction, but he didn’t have time to argue with him right now, so he hurriedly chased after her.
The restaurant finally quieted down.
After some low discussions among the guests, they returned to normal.
Chu Xinyue couldn’t help herself: "How could you say that? What if the boy wasn’t proposing just to take responsibility, and he really wanted to marry the girl? With what you said, if the girl gets angry and aborts the child, breaking up with the boy, wouldn’t that be your fault?"
"What responsibility do I have? If their relationship were truly strong, it wouldn’t be broken. Any relationship that ends because of my words would end sooner or later anyway."
He elegantly wiped his mouth.
She was helpless; the person before her likely never faced a beating before.
If the boy hadn’t been in such a rush to chase the girl, there’s no doubt he’d have come collecting the debt.
With another thought, she slowly said: "Actually, even if the boy proposed because of the child in the girl’s belly, it doesn’t mean they won’t have a happy future. You can tell they like each other a lot, otherwise, they wouldn’t quarrel over this. If they had a child as a bond, maybe their relationship would get better and better."
Ya Chen sat up straight, his pitch-black, hollow eyes staring forward, yet a hint of indifference etched at his lips:
"Using a child as a bond to maintain a relationship, don’t you find that pitiful?"
Chu Xinyue pursed her lips: "I’m not saying they must use a child as a bond, just that having a child could help their relationship."
He understood Chu Xinyue’s subtext; she wasn’t talking about the pair but about herself and him.
So, she was still clinging to Ya Qianhuai’s words, wanting to give birth to an heir for the Ya Family.
His breath slightly cooled, rejecting her insinuation: "I don’t like children, and I haven’t considered having kids for the time being, so I don’t agree with you."
With that said, he gently moved the chair aside, his metal cane hitting the floor.
The guard immediately stepped forward to guide him toward the restaurant door.
Chu Xinyue stood still for a moment, then finally rose slowly, heading toward the door too.

Army.
Counter-Terrorism Command Building.
With the remnant terrorists from the TM Organization consecutively being captured, this anti-terrorism mission had relaxed the tightly stretched string by quite a bit.
Evening.
Ya Chen had just finished a meeting with several officers and drew back the curtains at the floor-to-ceiling window to breathe in the fresh air.
As the curtains opened, the afterglow at dusk bathed the earth like molten gold, making the entire Capital seem radiant and moving.
The ancient city, much like after rain, quieted peacefully.
The trusted guard standing behind him sighed: "The sunset is beautiful. Actually, Your Highness, today’s matters have been mostly resolved; why not go back a bit earlier? It’s been several days at the office building here, after all, home is more comfortable."
That day, Ya Chen personally picked up Chu Xinyue from the hospital, had dinner, sent her back to the Ya Family, and immediately returned to the army, again not having been home for several days.
Ya Chen’s brows moved upon hearing the guard’s words.
Yes, today’s sunset is beautiful, but such a gorgeous sunset, he can’t see it, let alone enjoy it with someone.
Some blind people, despite not seeing, still have some luminous sensation in front of their eyes, but he doesn’t even have visible light perception.
While undergoing lower limb reconstruction surgery in Europe, he once asked the doctor about his eyes.
The doctor said if there was light perception, there might be hope in regaining sight with a corneal transplant. In his case, it seemed difficult.
"Not going back. You better tidy up the rest room. I’ll rest there." He made his decision.
The guard said nothing, just hummed an acknowledgment, about to turn away when the door was knocked, and hurried footsteps came in.
The voice of another bodyguard close by rang out:
"Your Highness, Sister Yin called."
Ya Chen’s brows knitted: "What’s the matter?"
"Sister Yin said Ms. Lan went out last night and hasn’t come back until now."
Ya Chen’s brow made a heavy jump, taking the phone handed by the guard.
Sister Yin’s panicked voice came through the phone: "Crown Prince—"
He didn’t waste a word: "What time did she disappear, did she say where she was going?"
Sister Yin held back fear: "Around eight o’clock last night, Ms. Lan said after dinner she felt stifled at home and wanted to go for a drive. I couldn’t stop her, so I let her go, reminding her to take a bodyguard, but she said she isn’t some high-profile star anymore and almost phased out of the entertainment circle. Nobody would recognize her on the street; she walked without a bodyguard... as it turns out when I woke up this morning and saw the car still in her garage, I realized she hadn’t come home all night. I called her, but her phone is always off..."
"Why didn’t you report earlier? What do you think I brought you back for?"
Ya Chen’s voice echoed like from purgatory; it had almost been a day since she left at eight last night, yet this Sister Yin just reported!
Sister Yin was quaking in fear: "I’m sorry, Crown Prince... I was scared you would punish me, also hoping Ms. Lan would just come back a bit late, so I didn’t report right away..."
Now she couldn’t hide it, forced to tell. Ya Chen’s face was deeply cold, but he didn’t have time to scold Sister Yin, his tone icy: "Are her passport and ID still there?" 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Sister Yin hurriedly said, "Yes, yes, yes, I checked, Ms. Lan only took her handbag out, everything else is here."
So, no matter what, she is still in the city.
Ya Chen dropped the phone, commanding: "Send people to search the whole city and find Lan Yurou."
Two guards immediately responded and turned to handle it.
...
An hour passed.
Two hours passed.
Until the night thoroughly descended, there was still no news from Lan Yurou.
Ya Chen’s face plunged into an ice cave, and his finger knuckles crackled under the pressure.
Lan Yurou had never suddenly disappeared without a sound before.
Did something happen while she was out for a drive?
Though most of the TM Organization’s terrorists were captured, making the outside relatively peaceful, it’s hard to guarantee Lan Yurou didn’t run into any of the remaining fugitives by bad luck.
