Spirit's Ascension-Chapter 36—New Resolve
Somewhere within the explosion range, Cole struggled to get back on his feet as blood trickled down his face.
It wasn’t normal for him to regain consciousness after such a short while but Doctor Thomas’s experiment had affected him in ways he couldn’t have expected.
Lucius could also be seen laying not too far away from him, completely unconscious.
His injuries didn’t appear too fatal though, his ice armor absorbed and dispersed most of the damage.
Cole on the other hand was extremely injured, blood could be seen almost everywhere around his body.
To worsen his situation, dizziness from utilizing the Eyes of Scrutiny hit him again.
He scanned their surroundings while trying to stay awake but the only he saw was dead plants, and dark scorched earth.
The previous dark beauty, no where to be found but something bugged Cole though.
The Forest, as if alive began increasing the mist’s invasion of that area. The mist there growing thicker and thicker.
"Could this be the forest attempting to hea..." Was the last thing Cole said before falling back to the ground heavily.
After an Unknown amount of time, Cole opened his eyes again but this time he was somewhere else.
He was currently resting on a large tree, in a completely new environment, though it was still slightly dark, there was sign of life around.
Cole immediately hurried up, looking around him suspiciously. He looked towards where Lucius was supposed to be laying but he couldn’t find anything. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
He was completely alone, his search wasn’t yieldless though, he found something scribbled on the tree he was currently resting on.
"I received a warning strike about teaming up, so I had to leave early," Cole read.
"Since you helped me in the battle, I will be giving you this information for free,"
"The secret to advancing is contemplating your Innate Spirit, the more you know about the higher you advance,"
Cole eyes widened while reading those last statements, a cloud felt lifted from him.
The information Cole just got access to was like a chest filled with gold in the Spiriter world.
Most Rogue Spiriters weren’t able to advance from the awakened stage, for this particular reason.
"He must have an astonishing background to know all of this and even possess what appeared to be a technique," Cole decided.
Having being left alone, Cole finally had the time to contemplate on his future plans.
The battle displayed to Cole just how limited he was using just the flaming fist.
The ability wasn’t that powerful and it required close contact which isn’t always possible.
Watching Lucius fight made him realize how brute his style actually was.
He thought for a while before coming to a decision.
"I need to record a new ability," Cole said resolutely.
Having decided on a part of his growth, he moved to something else.
"How do I comprehend my Innate spirit?" He questioned.
Cole began ruminating about everything he knew about his Innate Spirit, its abilities it uses, appearance but nothing seemed to work.
"I have also inexplicably advanced to the peak-stage, Could it be because of that outburst?"
Thinking about it further, Cole concluded it was the only logical point.
"That won’t be something happening again anytime soon," he said while nodding sadly.
His cleared mental state allowed him to finally remember his physical state.
Cole remembered how injured he actually was from that explosion but checking himself now, he could only find slight injuries all over.
"Why does this always happen," He wondered but didn’t dwell on it to much.
"I better get moving then, the placement test is still going on,"
Using his still slightly sore body, Cole climbed up a tree and proceeded to move in a random direction.
****Somewhere Else****
Bryan could be seen running as fast as he could in the forest, behind him another figure was closely on his tail.
"I really don’t want to do this, can’t you just leave me," Bryan screamed at the person behind.
The person didn’t reply though, only smirking evily and speeding up slightly.
Bryan wore an expression of deep unwillingness as he also attempted to speed up his pace and avoid the person.
As time went on though, instead of increasing the gap between them only reduced. His pursuer only being slightly behind him.
"Sigh, Do I really have to do this," He said helplessly.
He seemed to have made a decision as he eyes switched from hesitation to decisiveness.
He turned around in one fluid motion and said gently.
"Buddha’s Palm,"
A large golden hand suddenly appeared about his opponent and slamed down heavily.
The opponent was too shocked to even move, resulting in the attack landing head one.
Without any form of protection or anything, the opponent was directly knocked out.
Bryan looked at the unconscious opponent with a pitiful gaze before proceeding to scan his Academic watch.
[Points +10, Bryan received on his watch immediately.
"You chose this," Bryan muttered before leaving the scene.
****Cole’s Location****
Cole jumped nimbly for tree to tree, heading deeper and deeper into the forest.
Though the Empty Codex reaction has subsided quite a bit, Cole could still feel it violent reaction.
Cole could feel something different inside, like something was battling in him.
He had dismissed it previously as the after effect of his previous injuries but the longer he delayed the worse the feeling got.
"It is probably nothing," He said dismissively, little did he know how wrong he actually was.
The deeper he went into the forest, the louder the sound of battle and chaos got.
Cole could even feel like he was heading towards the center of it all but the chaos outside was nothing compared to the chaos that was currently about to display itself in him now.
"Haaaaaaaaa," Cole suddenly screamed out.
He lost his balance and plunged straight down. He hit the ground hardly but his spiriter body could take the damage so he wasn’t too affected.
His real problem was from inside his body.
"Dark Veins began bulging all around his hands and legs and even spreading into his eyes.
"What is going on with me," Cole screamed internally.
