Spiral of Madness: Ascension of the Villainous Dragon Prince-Chapter 116: Frostbane In Ruins [3] — The Frostbane Knights Captain, Tisha
♢♢♢♢
Everything happened faster than she could have imagined. One moment Tisha was defending the outskirts of the capital, slaying wild Monsters; the next, she was forced to rush back because of an emergency. Out of nowhere, a coup d’état was in motion. A noble who had loyally served the crown all this time attacked the capital, invaded the castle, took the King and Queen hostage, and demanded complete control over the VPI.
Unable to refuse his orders, the workers complied. The noble instantly became the new ruler. Naturally, many rose against it—only to meet swift ends from Vultarn High Dominion weapons, freed Entities, or the Grievance that had invaded the nameless streets. The capital plunged into complete chaos.
Tisha and Pekorine joined forces to defeat as many Entities as possible and halt the massacre of civilians, leaving Catrise and the others the duty of rescuing Gustaf from Thalor Vex’s clutches.
"This damn bastard—to think he took advantage of the day when Catrise and everyone else was outside the castle searching for his majesty the prince!"
Tisha clicked her tongue as she swung her divine frost sword. A cleaving, freezing attack struck one of the many offshoots created by the freed Entities—a giant mass of crystals shaped like geometric forms. The monstrous, aberrant thing exploded into countless shapes. Tisha’s head throbbed whenever she stared too long.
"Damn it, don’t look at them for too long—just smash them!"
She leaped forward, smashing three more with her sword before swinging horizontally. The original Niflheim unleashed a wave of frost, piercing five more monsters with long icicle spears and destroying them instantly.
"You move well, Tisha the Frost Knight Captain. I have been waiting... for years... for this moment."
TRUUUM!
"...Ngh?!"
Tisha felt sharp pain in her left shoulder. A hand touched her armor. The metal twisted instantly into geometric-shaped crystals that pierced her skin and bone.
"You!"
The Entity that had sneaked behind her was a powerful Level 3.5 bordering on Grievance—a human-shaped crystal creature known as "Geometric Man." Contained for nearly twenty years, it harbored hatred for everything and everyone.
"It’s time for us Entities to rise up. It is time for a revolution."
"Revolution?! Hah! You’re a monster!"
Tisha roared, swinging her sword and clashing against him. His hand—composed of countless geometric crystals—stopped Niflheim barehanded.
CRASH!
Tisha pushed harder, channeling her Divine Mana Aura and enhancing it tremendously. Her aura surged into the shape of a roaring ice dragon.
"Primordial Ice Dragon Blade Arts!"
"Hm?!"
The Geometric Man gasped and stepped back, but it was too late. Tisha chased him down, Niflheim rushing toward his body.
"First Form – Freezing Fang!"
SLASH!
Channeling leftover draconic energy from Niflheim and her own body—having drunk the Dragon King of Yggdrasil’s blood—Tisha unleashed a devastating attack. Her Sword Aura shaped into a sharp fang, piercing the Geometric Man’s back and tearing him in two. Cracks spread across the rest of his body as he fell apart.
"Kuaaaagggh! E-Enough! Stop!"
As the owner of three cores, he was not dead yet. One core was gone, but two remained—and the destroyed one began regenerating quickly. He countered by reassembling his body and sprouting countless triangles, rectangles, circles, and pyramids of glowing, colorful crystals, attempting to crush and impale Tisha.
"You know? I’ve always wanted to kill most of you!" Tisha roared furiously. With her sword she cleaved apart the crystal formations one by one, using her powerful Divine Mana Heart and Draconic Aura to resist the Mind Corrosion of a Level 3 Entity. "Gustaf was always a fool for wanting you all contained. I hope he learns a good lesson once this is over!"
Her sword carved through mountains of crystals as she closed in on Geometric Man—only for him to summon more Geometric Crystal Monstrosities in desperation.
"Gustaf? Hah! He will not return to his throne, and he will NEVER become King again!" the Geometric Man laughed. "He will perish in agony and despair as his wife’s body becomes the vessel for our master!"
"What sort of nonsense are you speaking?!" Tisha quickly grew icy scales across her body. Icy horns sprouted over her forehead; ice wings and a tail emerged as she underwent Pseudo Draconification. "Answer me!"
RUMBLE!
The ground beneath her shattered. Countless boulders flew as she reached the Entity and slammed his body into the earth with Niflheim.
BOOOM!
"Nnnggh...! Hahahaha!"
The Entity laughed wildly, raising his arms and manifesting a giant pillar of crystal directly where Tisha was falling.
"Ah!"
"DIE, TISHAAAAAA!"
As the Entity laughed viciously, Tisha clenched her teeth and swung her sword downward with all her force, cleaving a hundred-meter-long crystal mountain before rushing forward again.
"You thought that was going to kill me?!"
She caught up once more—only for Geometric Man to hide behind a massive wall that surged from the ground. Tisha halted as dozens of walls rose, suddenly forming a Fantasy Domain shaped like an endlessly sprawling office apartment.
"This is...!"
"Geometric Man is my friend... Sooooooo... I cannot let you kill him... hehehehe..."
Surging from the walls emerged a monstrous figure of wires and TVs, buzzing with static energy. The creature chased Tisha while making the ground tremble.
"You of all things...!"
The creature that trapped Tisha in the Fantasy Domain was an infamous monster that ensnared innocents in endless labyrinths and hunted them for sport.
It was known as the Apartment 101’s Tenant—because the only world it could create was this endless apartment named 101.
As a powerful Level 3.5 Entity bordering on Grievance, it could spread its Domain and trap prey inside for easy consumption.
Captured after a long mission into its pocket dimension, its powers had since been extracted to create pocket dimensions for the VPI.
"I am finally freeeeeee...! And I’m going to kill you aaaaaaaall~!"
"Damn creepy thing!"
Tisha clenched her teeth. For a moment she wished she could be back in Yggdrasil fighting simple fantasy monsters instead of these bizarre creatures born from the Hintergrid. She quickly channeled her power, expanding her aura.
"I might have grown weaker after leaving my own world and losing my King’s blessings, but I am not a weakling for you to easily defeat!"
With a furious roar, she swung her sword and unleashed her Aura, shaping it into an endless domain of frozen flowers with a grand castle behind her.
"Uuuggghh?!"
