Chapter 1452: Refusing Surrender!

Those two Rank Four radioactive creatures wanted to surrender.

That was the first report Sein heard after meeting Tychus and the others.

Another piece of intelligence followed soon after: the Grand Eye Demon World had dispatched yet another wave of reinforcements to the strategically vital Radbow World!

However, that contingent of Eye Demon forces was intercepted by other Magus Civilization legions elsewhere in the star domain before it could reach Radbow’s outer regions.

For the time being, there was no indication that the enemy could breach the Magus Civilization’s defensive lines.

The two Rank Four creatures in Radbow World had likely caught wind of this and decided to abandon resistance, choosing instead to grovel before the Magus Civilization.

In truth, many planes surrounding the Grand Eye Demon World, including Radbow World itself, had been unfortunate victims of circumstance.

Before the Grand Eye Demon World’s rebellion, they had no idea their ruling civilization had already switched allegiances.

One moment, they were members of the Magus Alliance; the next, they had become pawns of the Gallant Federation.

Even during the rebellion, their clashes with the Magus Civilization’s legions were often forced upon them by the Grand Eye Demon World.

Such was the tragedy of weak civilizations.

Sometimes, the fate of an entire race lay far beyond its own control.

Because of this, when the Magus Civilization began purging the star domains surrounding the Grand Eye Demon World, many weaker planes defected once more, seeking to return to the Magus Civilization’s fold.

Of those planes, only a few were accepted back.

The majority that tried to rejoin the Magus Alliance instead faced a ruthless purge!

Coerced or not, they had still shed the blood of Magus World knights and mages.

For such beings, the Magus Civilization showed no mercy!

Radbow World, however, had one advantage: its radioactive creatures had not directly participated in the attacks against Magus Civilization legions in nearby star domains.

That made their track record somewhat cleaner in comparison.

Moreover, the two Rank Four radioactive creatures had even declared their willingness to be branded slaves by the Magus Alliance if necessary.

Their only request was that the Magus Civilization spare the countless creatures of Radbow World.

Until now, the Magus Civilization’s stance toward rebellious allied planes had been one of total annihilation.

Such an iron-fisted policy had long since erased any thought of dissent among its allies.

The two Rank Four radioactive creatures from Radbow World seemed sincere enough.

Given their strength, they could have attempted to flee their homeplane if they were truly desperate.

Yet, up to this point, neither of them had shown the slightest sign of trying to escape.

On the contrary, their actions and words suggested genuine concern for their homeplane and the species under their protection.

No wonder Radbow World’s planar will was far stronger than that of many other low-level planes Sein had encountered.

“What do you all think?” Sein asked, sweeping his gaze across the conference room in his space fortress.

His eyes settled on Tychus. In major decisions concerning Radbow World, Sein made a point of hearing his opinion.

The Rank Four knight kept his gaze lowered. The fact that Yuri managed to get Sein out of his laboratory meant the knight leaned toward accepting the enemy’s surrender.

Even so, his answer was cautious.

“I defer to your judgment, Master Sein,” he said. “Whatever you decide, we shall follow.”

After hearing Tychus’ reply, Sein looked at the two allied foreign gods.

They, too, had no desire to prolong the fighting.

Their strength was modest, and the legions under their command were suffering heavy losses on Radbow World with every passing moment.

If they continued to fight stubbornly, they would not only lose more soldiers but also put themselves in great danger.

Since the start of the Clash of Civilizations, several foreign gods of the alliance had already fallen.

Rumor had it that after the defeat in the Netherworld Star Domain, the number of dead foreign gods had already surpassed four digits!

Countless deities had to step down from their pedestals and be reduced to cannon fodder in the war between two supreme civilizations.

The two foreign gods’ eagerness to accept the radioactive creatures’ surrender also came from a sense of shared misfortune.

After all, those creatures had once been part of the Magus Alliance, only to be crushed beneath the Magus Civilization’s wrath.

Sein did not care about their opinions. They were not even given a chance to speak.

Glancing around the room, he finally said, “Though Radbow did not take part in the initial assaults on the Magus Civilization legions in the nearby star domains, this war on the low-level plane has already dragged on for nearly four years.”[1]

“I’m not yet certain of the full extent of your losses, but for the Divine Tower of Ashes, 137 full-fledged mages have fallen on this low-level plane’s battlefield. What are we going to do about that?!” Sein demanded.

Compared to the lives already lost in Radbow World, the deaths of 137 mages from the Divine Tower of Ashes might have seemed insignificant.

Yet the lives of Magus World knights and mages were worth more than ordinary beings from low-level planes or allied worlds! That much was undeniable!

To higher beings, the lives of lesser creatures were nothing more than numbers.

Interplanar wars were all about trading numbers for victories.

It was a cold philosophy, one likely shared by many law-wielding powerhouses throughout Magus World.

Still, Sein’s bold declaration about the worth of his divine tower’s mages made his stance toward Radbow World unmistakably clear!

Upon hearing his words, Tychus was the first to respond.

“I say we reject Radbow World’s surrender!” he said firmly. “Traitors must be wiped out to serve as an example. My order alone has lost more than twelve hundred, with over five thousand wounded. Such a blood debt cannot be erased by the surrender of two Rank Four creatures!”

Sein smiled. “Indeed. Even if a single Magus World knight or mage falls in battle, our civilization will demand justice. The law-wielding beings shall pay the price!”

Their exchange effectively settled the matter, leaving no room for further discussion.

The Frost Crystal Silkworm and the Lizard Elder exchanged a silent, helpless glance. Their expressions held a trace of regret, but beneath it lay unmistakable fear of the Magus Civilization’s absolute authority and unyielding will.

Word of this exchange between Sein and Tychus soon spread among the lower-ranking knights and mages across the Radbow World.

The sight of two Magus World elites showing such fierce conviction for their fallen comrades deeply moved the Divine Tower of Ashes’ troops.

Their sense of belonging and loyalty to the Magus Civilization surged to new heights.

That unity quickly translated into the battlefield’s momentum.

With the native Radbow legions faltering and the morale of the Magus Civilization’s forces at its peak, Sein once again led the charge to the frontlines.

He was determined to bring the Radbow World War to a swift end!
