Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1405: Local Battlefield Advantage
Sein planted an elemental crystal into the sand elemental’s core and patted it. “Go. Take this back with you.”
The crystal was condensed from his own Ashen Power, and it carried vital information to prove his identity.
Aside from that, it also held a message Sein wanted delivered to the opposing Magus Civilization commander.
Sein also intended to try persuading the Huusians to switch sides. After all, he owed them for saving his life.
Though the Huusian King still did not know his identity, Sein believed his knowledge of their people and of the war in this star domain gave him a real chance of success.
The Gallant Federation used implanted metal buttons as deterrents to control Rank One and below lifeforms. It was safe to assume they had far more advanced methods for keeping those of Rank Four and above in line, not to mention the entire Huusian fleet.
But Sein was not worried about them. With the Magus Civilization’s help and the Huusians’ willingness to surrender, there would always be a way to remove them.
After all, the Magus Civilization had more solid foundations than the Gallant Federation.
The sand elemental in his hand scattered with the wind across the raging battlefield.
Sein had first obtained this unique elemental lifeform years ago in the White Sand World. Back then, during his breakout from the federation, he had drawn on its power through the White Sand Fan.
Now, though, he valued Sandy less for its combat strength and more for its stealth, which was a gift of its unusual nature.
Yuri was still kept within Sein’s spatial living device. She had recovered somewhat from her wounds, but was not combat-ready yet.
Her silver mecha had been heavily damaged during the earlier breakout battle and was then struck by the federation’s secret weapon.
While Sein could quickly heal himself with Golden Apple Potions, and Yuri could recover slowly with the help of other potions, repairing the mecha was a different story.
There was no way Sein could bring out the silver mecha for repairs while he was hiding aboard the Huusian vessel, either.
Sandy shot deep into the battlefield, carrying Sein’s hopes with it. It had the speed of an aero elemental creature and the toughness of a geo elemental being.
Sein had considered the chance that Sandy might fail to deliver the elemental crystal he had condensed to the Magus Civilization commander on the other side.
The federation’s heavy artillery saturating the battlefield’s center, or any unforeseen development there, could cause Sandy to fail, or even die.
If that happened and Sein had no way to reach the Magus Civilization’s high command, he would scrap the plan to communicate with the Huusian King and focus instead on breaking through the siege alone.
Without the Magus Civilization’s backing, the odds of convincing the Huusian King were close to zero.
Only with their support could he move ahead with confidence.
The elemental crystal itself also carried the means for both sides to establish direct contact.
Once Sandy departed, Sein reached out to Gwyneira, urging her to intensify the attack against the Magus Civilization legions in front of them.
Dense volleys of energy beams ripped through the ranks of the green giants, leaving a trail of blood and carnage.
At the same time, Gwyneira piloted her spacecraft straight into the fray, targeting the Rank Three green giant leader.
Sein’s soul magic was being quietly activated.
With his careful guidance, the green giant leader was battered and left writhing in pain, but it was never actually dealt a fatal blow.

On the Black Tide Plane’s battlefield, three divine towers and six knightly orders were overseeing combat operations. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
On top of that, five allied deities at Rank Four and above had also joined the fight.
The Magus Civilization’s forces completely overshadowed those of the Gallant Federation.
The situation on the Black Tide Plane reflected the larger picture of the war raging across the Transversa Star Domain.
Although the Magus Civilization held the upper hand in this star domain, that did not mean they enjoyed this superiority everywhere else.
This was because two major allied planes had defected during the conflict, leaving the Magus Civilization’s side at a serious disadvantage in the Netherworld Star Domain.
The Gallant Federation’s vanguard fleet had already pushed two-thirds of the way through that star domain, advancing dangerously deep into the Magus Alliance’s heartland.
Meanwhile, Burning Sanoras, another large-sized allied plane, had begun an emergency mobilization.
Along its border, it was establishing a second defensive line with resources redirected from the Magus Civilization.
If the Netherworld Star Domain’s defenses were to collapse entirely, Sanoras would become the Magus Alliance’s bridgehead facing the Gallant Federation’s main forces in that direction.
That was why no one could judge the overall situation based solely on the Magus Civilization’s success in Transversa.
This was just one part of a bigger battlefield.
Across other star domains, both top-tier civilizations had their own strengths and weaknesses.
At least for now, no one could say which side was winning.
Surprisingly, the highest-ranking Magus Civilization commander on the Black Tide Plane was not one of the alliance’s foreign gods or even the three divine tower masters.
Instead, it was Clint, a peak Rank Five knight from the Desert Kingdom of Jehannah. He was a burly man with a thick beard, clad in deep yellow armor.
Though Jehannah was never among the most famous factions of Magus World, it was still a top-tier power, standing alongside the Western Archipelago, the Byrne Empire, and the Ylli Knight Alliance as one of the great knightly domains.
In external conquests, especially in the early stages of this clash with the Gallant Federation, it was always the legions of these major powers that took the frontlines!
The war had erupted so suddenly that many medium or small divine towers and knightly orders probably had not even had time to react, nor could the Magus Civilization mobilize its full strength right away.
The full potential of a top-tier civilization could only be brought out gradually, which meant this war was bound to drag on.
That was why the elite forces of the great powers were sent in—not just to counter the Federation’s ambush, but also to show the Magus Civilization’s strength and prestige.
The Jehannah Kingdom’s legions were responsible not just for the Black Tide Plane, but for most of the Transversa Star Domain as well.
The participating divine towers and mage legions were largely from the Jehannah Kingdom’s affiliated organizations, with a few from the Byrne Empire.
Jehannah had always maintained close ties with Byrne.
Sein could not help but wonder where the Pyro Secret Society’s main battlefield was. Were Master Lorianne, Grandmaster Feylis, and the others also fighting in this war?
