Chapter 1298: Hela

Sein had been locked in place for what felt like an eternity, and when he finally regained control of his body, the powerful woman reached out a hand toward him.

“Greetings, I’m Hela,” she said.

“Greetings... I’m Sein,” he replied, extending his hand as well.

He was used to the social etiquette of Magus World mages, but in front of someone this overwhelmingly powerful, he suddenly felt unsure how to act.

When they shook hands, Loki looked most surprised.

He stared in disbelief at Sein and Hela’s hands, then shifted his gaze to the Faceless Mask that had suddenly appeared on Sein’s face.

Sein had not revealed the mask in any of his previous interactions with Loki and the others.

As a world-class secret treasure, the Faceless Mask would only manifest when needed and remain hidden otherwise.

It could block the perception of Rank Six beings, but Loki still managed to notice something unusual about it with his unique divine ability and divinity.

And just like that, the contempt Loki had held for Sein vanished.

No... what truly changed his perspective was not the mask itself, but Hela’s attitude toward Sein.

There were only a handful of beings in the entire Magus Alliance qualified to shake hands with his elder sister... and Sein had done it.

No, to be precise, it was the mask that had made it possible!

Thor was just as stunned as Loki, though he was still frozen in place by some special power.

Apart from his darting eyes that betrayed his shock, he could not even twitch a finger.

“When did you obtain that mask?” Hela asked.

Her tone was soft, but there was a weight to her words—a kind of authority born from a life steeped in death and power.

Sein had no intention of provoking someone like her. He gulped, then explained his experiences in the Knight Continent’s trial zone and the Faceless Secret Realm.

At the mention of the Knight Continent Trial Zone, Hela’s eyes took on a distant look, as if recalling some memory.

Even Thor’s restraints dissipated quietly at that moment, but the burly man did not move. Instead, he just stood there, looking just as dazed.

The Knight Continent, left behind by the first Rank Nine creature of the Magus Civilization for the Magus World, was a legacy that only native Magus World creatures could enter for trials.

But Thor had been there before and even walked away with quite a few valuable items.

That likely had something to do with his unique bloodline.

As for the Faceless Secret Realm, Thor had never heard of it, but Loki had.

When Loki was a child, his mother told him a story about an elder named Jorces, the Faceless Mask.

While Sein and Hela spoke, the Phantom Crow King behind him kept inching away, clearly wanting to escape.

Sein did most of the talking, while Hela mostly just listened.

Sein had no idea why someone so powerful would care about a secret realm trial he had taken back when he was still Rank Three. He figured it might have something to do with the world‑class secret treasure mask.

Too bad Jorces had never shared much about his connections or past.

And even if he had, how many of Jorces’ generation could still be alive after tens of thousands of years?

Sein had never planned to use the mask to seek favors anyway; he preferred to rely on himself.

The Phantom Crow King’s sneaky retreat was suddenly cut off.

A small silver snake appeared out of nowhere, flicking its tongue as its icy eyes locked onto the crow.

Despite being Rank Six, the Phantom Crow King froze on the spot, feeling as if it were facing a natural predator.

Who are these people?

Is the Magus Civilization really this terrifying?

Including the God of Beastmen who had fought him, Hela, who was now talking to Sein, and this silver snake, the poor Phantom Crow King had already faced three overlord-level beings in just over a thousand years.

What an unlucky crow it was.

The Astral Realm was far too dangerous. If the Phantom Crow King could do it all over again, it would never have left the Phantom Crow Star Domain. It was content to stay tucked away at home, ruling its little corner.

By the time the silver snake had its eyes on the crow, Sein and Hela had finished their conversation.

There was not much to discuss anyway. For Hela, all she really needed to confirm was that Sein was the heir of the Faceless Mask.

Even then, this powerful and meticulous woman still asked if Sein had established any divine tower and whether he had run into any difficulties.

Sein politely answered every question. Thor, who had been stuck frozen until then, came over and mentioned how he had met Sein through the Capiche Business Alliance, adding that Sein had already bought a modified space fortress. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

“You just got promoted to Rank Four and established the Divine Tower of Ashes, right? And you already own a space fortress? Not bad, not bad at all,” Hela praised.

At that moment, the powerful woman finally remembered the silver snake that was scaring the Phantom Crow King.

With a soft whistle, the silver snake that had made the Phantom Crow King’s soul tremble shot back into Hela’s hair.

This silver snake, every bit as unfathomable as its owner, turned back into a simple hairpin in her hair.

When Sein looked at it through the Faceless Mask, the feedback he got made his lips twitch involuntarily.

The Magus Alliance Conference really was a gathering of the Magus Civilization’s elite forces.

Since setting foot in Howling Stone World, Sein had been hit by one shock after another...

***

Hela did not stay long with Sein and the others.

Existences like her were always busy, especially when the Divine King of Titans, Odin, had yet to arrive at Howling Stone World.

Until then, Hela had to stand in for the Titans and receive countless powerhouses from the Magus World and allied planes.

None of them was ordinary. In the time Sein had watched her, not a single one of the people who could even hold a quick conversation with her was below Rank Six!

And there were a few whose strength Sein could not even gauge. He gulped nervously and quickly looked away.

They were way out of his league.

The good news for Thor and Loki was that with Hela gone to deal with other powerhouses from the Magus Civilization. The two could finally relax.

Loki patted Sein on the shoulder and said, “Alright, it’s seventy million magicoins. After the Magus Alliance Conference ends, have the money ready, and I’ll get you the Golden Apple.”

Sein nodded, glancing at Hela’s disappearing figure.

“So, that’s your sister? What a wise and powerful being she is,” Sein sighed.

What he did not know was that when he said those words, Hela, who was in the middle of talking with a peak Rank Six creature of the Dolphin World, paused for just two seconds before carrying on as if nothing had happened.

They were discussing a collaboration deal. The Titan World would supply the Dolphin World with a batch of Water Spirit Crystals as aid, and in return, the Dolphin World would train a batch of royal war beasts for Titan World.

War beasts suitable as mounts for the massive Titans were rare across the entire Magus Alliance, let alone enough for a bulk deal.
