Chapter 427: Ethan shocks them All

Ethan who had just regained consciousness was confused as to why everyone except for Jamie had gathered on the left and right sides of Leo. Jamie was kneeling on the spot exactly where Morgan had been lecturing him before he passed out.

Ignoring the throbbing pain on his forehead, he first turned to his sister to see she refused to look him in the eye which caused him no small amount of concern. Quickly shifting his gaze to Aria, she only gently smiled but didn’t say anything. She didn’t want to influence the decision he made.

WIth no one else that he was close to, he turned his gaze back to Leo with a frown on his face as he asked "Mind filling me in on what’s going on here?"

Leo arched a brow as the serious expression on hs face was unlike the Ethan he had come to know. Instead of a fool, it was like he was staring at a methodical beast, observing him like a true hunter.

"This is a vote on whether we invite Jamie here into our guild. The main reason is they have been found compatible with the thing that binds us altogether." Leo tried his best to avoid naming the Zodiac Bond ability outright now that Jamie was focusing on the conversation now.

Ethan’s frown deepened as he understood what Leo was talking about. However it was also undeniable from the brief observation of the ’candidate’ that they were unruly, mischievious and full of energy. Even now they were fidgeting as if staying still would kill them.

"So what’s the verdict then,Boss? What did you decide?" he asked with a hint of disinterest. The power belonged to Leo so he fully believed that Leo had the final say.

"I don’t work that way. We are putting it to a vote. I am abstaining as I feel it’s best to go with the majority..."

Ethan tlted his head as he noticed that there were 5 people on the left and people on the right of Leo.

"And I am the tiebreaking vote then?" he asked the obvious in a nonchalant matter as he slowly rose to his feet. He looked to Vivian again who still refused to meet his gaze.

"Alright then...What did my sister vote?" he asked, his gaze never breaking away from Vivian. Everyone now could tell that was something off with Ethan now. This wasn’t the man that they knew.

While the atmosphere that Ethan gave off before was that of a cheerful but foolish puppy, this Ethan was like a cold blade, unfeeling and uncaring.

"She voted yes...." Adam remarked from the side which resulted in Ethan shooting a cold glare Adam’s way before he walked towards his sister with slow deliberate steps.

Everyone in the room couldn’t help but tense up, expecting the worst as the ones standing closest to Vivian noticed that she was trembling slightly.

"Why won’t you look at me Vivian?" Ethan asked with a tilt of his head. Aria’s smile had turned into a frown as this Ethan was far too foreign to her.

"Young Miss, there is no need for concern, I will never harm her." As if reading her mind, Ethan’s gaze shifted from Vivian for a moment before he shot a brief glance towards Aria. But instead of filling her with ease, the discomfort only grew stronger as she growled back "The Ethan I know was told to not call me that anymore. Who are you?"

Ethan froze up for a moment before he emotionlessly asked "Would you believe me if I told you I forgot?"

"Yeah....That ain’t gonna work for me. Answer her question Buddy." Adam growled softly as he got into a stance as he pulled out his dagger.

"No! Don’t!" Vivian finally spoke with a shout, holding up her hand towards Adam, her shaking hand not inspiring any confidence in Adam but he listened to her request for now but would intervene at even the slightest sign of danger.

"It is lovely to hear your voice Vivian." Ethan remarked with a small smile but still Vivian didn’t meet his gaze.

"Does someone mind filling us in on what the hell is up with him?!" Greg asked, completely uncomfortable with what was going on.

"This is another side of Ethan....." Vivian spoke softly, her voice slightly trembling. "He only comes out sometimes when Ethan gets too.....heated."

"That is correct. He was less than pleased with what was unfolding here so I stepped in."

"He?" Rachel asked with a cocked brow. Was this split personality disorder? That alone was a cause for concern.

"Yes. It is what you thnk but at the same time it’s not. Ethan does not agree with this cute boy joining this group..." He remarked with a shrug.

Hearing that Ethan was saying no, Lily clapped her hands together cheerfully called out "And that’s the vote. The No’s have it!"

Lily’s cheerful attitude and expression faltered when Ethan continued to speak.

"But, his will does not reflect ours. We stand with Vivian no matter what. If she says to invte the boy, we shall be magnaminous and concede to her wishes. We are not afraid as we do not hide our feelings."

Rachel’s frown only deepened further upon hearing this different version of Ethan speak. It was implying that there was more than just the two personalities residing inside of him. Vivian suddenly threw a punch towards Ethan’s chest but to everyone’s surprise, he actually caught it with one hand.

He then used his other hand to lift her chin and leaned in, Kissing Vivian on the lips while everyone else let out gasps of shock and confusion. Luna in particular was blushing fiercely. Weren’t the Brother and Sister?! How could they kiss and why was he so bold about it?!"

Aria finally knew why Vivian had refused to look up at him as when he pulled away, Vivian’s face was cherry red in embarrassment.

"It is about time that he wakes up, I hope to speak to you again soon my lovely Vivian."

The bold Ethan than closed his eyes and grew still for a brief moment. The silence seemed to drag on for a long time before Ethan began to speak again with his eyes closed.

"Sis..... Please don’t kill me!"

Vivian finally snapped and threw a massive uppercut that lifted Ethan clear off the ground. He hit the ground unceremoniously but Vivian wasn’t done yet. She mounted on top of him and began raining down punches on him.

Leo wanted to intervene but realized that even though the uppercut had been brutal, the rest of the punches had no power behind them, she was just venting her embarrassment.

Luna had yet to recover when Aria leaned in and whispered to her "It’s okay, they are actually not related. Both of them are orphans who were raised together."

Aria had no idea that her words only made things worse. Wasn’t that a situation similar to her own with Leo?!
