Son of the Hero King-Chapter 700
Sol spent the rest of his day with Kiyohime, leisurely enjoying his time in the great forest. This had truly been a very relaxing vacation. So relaxing that, he had made it his go-to vacation spot. In the future, whenever the stress of everything proved too much for him and he had the leeway, he would surely visit this place once more.
In the meantime, Kiyohime helped him get a better understanding of the world of the divine beasts. Not all beasts were equal nor were they friendly and inviting, especially to him.
A few of them in particular seemed to have already garnered a strong dislike for Sol from what Kiyohime told him. It was of no fault of his own. The Divine Beasts that disliked him were those who once fought Anubis or rather those who were humiliated by Anubis when they tried to fight him.
Since Sol was Anubis’ son-in-law, their dislike was just transferred to him. Hearing those words, only a scoff filled with derision leaked out of Sol’s lips.
If those divine beasts were strong, they should have challenged Anubis again.
“I guess they think I am an easier target?” Sol asked and Kiyohime did not refute his words. “So, who are the ones targeting me in your opinion?”
“The divine beasts of Greed, Gluttony, and Temperance. Those were the three that got sealed by Anubis when the divinities tried to fight him.”
Sol showed a strange expression, remembering his deal with the Goddess of Gluttony and Temperance. Unless those two decided to backstab him he should be good for now. “No need to worry about Gluttony and Temperance.”
Kiyohime was curious about why Sol thought so but shrugged in the end. She had complete belief in him. If he said they were not a problem then they wouldn’t pose any problem. “If you say so. I guess only Greed is our outright enemy? Then obviously Envy and Kindness. If Greed faces us, there are high chance Charity will also be on their side.”
Like the Goddesses, the divine beasts generally were closer to their opposite half and were more likely to work together. Greed and Charity were the representative Sin and Virtue of the Dwarves while Envy and Kindness represented the Demons.
“Currently we only have Pride and Humility as well as Lust and Chastity that are unconditionally on our side. I guess we can add Gluttony and Temperance now from what you’ve mentioned.” Pride and Humility represented the elves while Lust and Chastity were obviously for the humans. Gluttony and Temperance represented the Chimera.
“This leaves Wrath and Patience as well as Sloth and Diligence.” The representative sin and virtue pair of the Beastmen and the Angels.

Sol made a few calculations in his mind and nodded to himself. “Wrath will be neutral for now. I believe Patience will follow Wrath.”
While his discussion with the Goddess Ira wasn’t as productive as the one he had with Gula, he knew that the Goddess of Wrath had no intention of fighting him. As long as he did not give a reason to oppose him, she would most likely be happy with staying low and avoiding all confrontation.
This left Sloth and Diligence. To date, he did not know the opinions those goddesses had of him. Much less what the divine beasts thought about him. However, with how the angels were gearing themselves to fight him in the future, it was clear they were not exactly friends.
Kiyohime shook her head in silent awe. Sol was not even in the Astral Realm and yet he seemed to have the situation with the goddesses under relative control.
“This means for now we have the upper hand. Even in the case where Sloth and Diligence join Invidia, that will be six on our side, six against, and two neutral. A perfect equilibrium.” Kiyohime hummed, happy with the current situation. “You are really special.”

“Don’t praise me too much. To be honest, if Luxuria didn’t have my back, I believe Invidia would have already rallied all the goddesses against me.” Sol was proud but not blind. He accepted and appreciated the grace Luxuria had given him and was continuously bestowing him all along.
It was thanks to her protection that he could enjoy life as he was doing now. As long as she was there to stop the others from acting recklessly, he would be given the time necessary to grow stronger. Strong enough that nothing and no one would matter any longer.
“Well. In the end, this is nothing new. The only thing I do not understand is why you are taking so much time to conquer the Mortal Realm. With your current level of power, outside some dangerous weapons that the angels possess, there is very little that can hurt you.”
Sol shook his head. “You are wrong. Conquest isn’t just about having the biggest fist. To truly conquer this world I need much, much more.”
Few knew his true plan. Simply conquering the world wasn’t enough. He needed to take true and absolute possession of it and make it his territory— his world.
There is one thing that intrigued him, however. “So the angels do have weapons that can actually harm me?”
“I cannot say. What I do know is that the angels were once divine beasts. They are also first-generation divine beasts. Do not underestimate them. They have been single-handedly controlling the level of technology in this Mortal Realm for eons. Blocking and hoarding the most special technological advances. I also know that they purged the entire Mortal Realm a few times and entirely reset it. So be careful.”
Sol chuckled, “I feel like everyone is praising and hyping those angels to death. I will be quite disappointed if they are not up to the expectations I have in my mind.”
The two shared a smile and continued their day in peace. Sol was happy to know that the situation was still under control.
The only true worrying points were the ones from beyond. They were people he could not completely anticipate or control.
Nevertheless, if those revived gods even dared to stand in his way, he would make sure to grant them true Death this time.

When the sun vanished beyond the horizon, Sol found himself bathing in the hot springs for the last time for his current visit. He had reserved this place for Camelia’s use in the morning and while it did not change the underlying problem, it had done wonders for her health and youth. Enough at least that he didn’t have to worry too much about her condition and could afford to take his time in healing her completely.
As the water took away the fatigue of the day, h£+e could not help but wonder if the elves would come and visit him again this time as well. But as he enjoyed the hot water and felt two presence approach him. “So this time only the two of you came?”
He opened his eyes and gazed at Satella and Jasmine, both wearing translucent dresses.
“Will the two of us not suffice, your highness?” Jasmine smiled and stepped into the hot water without missing a beat.
Sol appreciated their form, “I am more than honored to bathe with the Supreme Daughter and the Queen of Southern Pride.”
