Sold to the Capo-Chapter 67: PUSHED TO THE WALL
ADRIANA’S POV
I could hear Master LaRosa asking the person on the phone something, but my eyelids felt heavy, so I couldn’t see who was on the screen.
I had heard the gunshot, and I knew it barely missed me, but I knew he didn’t want to shoot me, which meant he was trying to scare someone on the line. Vincenzo.
Soon, I heard the unmistakable click of the phone dial and felt the presence of someone next to me, which is what made me force my eyes open to see Master LaRosa looking down at me with a bland look on his face.
"Didn’t know you were this easy to break" He commented, looking over my bloodied body. "My weakest fighter could probably take you down" He spat at me.
Gesturing to one of his men, they brought him a chair and he sat down, his eyes scrutinizing me slowly. "You know, for someone whose father owes a lot of money, you should have learned to defend yourself. You’re lucky you’re Vincenzo’s wife and not his mistress, it would have been fun... but it doesn’t matter now, does it?" He grinned maliciously.
The room was bright, and I was aware that I was the only female here; the remaining 5 people were men.
"You sure had a lot of things to say the other day at the house, what now?" The man asked, leaning back in his seat with that same grin on his face.
I spat out blood that had accumulated in my mouth before I looked at him. "Son of a bitch"
His eyes darkened as his lips twitched. "Ah, there it is. That fiery spirit. The one that’s rubbing off on Vincenzo" He smirked.
"Afraid you can’t leash your own son, bastard?!" I yelled, my voice coming out hoarse.
As soon as the words left my lips, one of his men stepped forward and slapped me, the sound resounding in the small space. The lean man grabbed my hair painfully and yanked my hair back, a warning look on his face. "Not how to talk to the boss" He mocked me.
Master LaRosa didn’t bother to do anything about that, he was just staring at me with narrowed eyes. "You know how extremely stupid you’re being right now?" He asked even though his question was rhetorical.
I didn’t answer, I didn’t even mind the person who had slapped me despite the way my cheeks stung at the impact of his rough hands on my soft skin.
"I think I don’t want to wait for Vincenzo; you seem like you would know something about what I need to know about, so I’ll play it like this. Let’s make a deal: you let me know what Gamma Haven is, and I let you walk freely. Deal? You’ve done deals in the past, so you know how this one works." He smirked again.
A bitter laugh escaped my lips as I heard what he had to say. He looked taken aback that I was laughing in my current state but he didn’t move. "You really think I’ll make that type of deal with you? You can’t talk to your son about it? Or are you actually scared that your son is trying to kick you out of your own family? You soㅡ" I couldn’t say it completely when he stepped forward and slapped me, my ears ringing as he did that.
My face was violently flung to the side at the impact of his hand against my face and I took a few seconds to calm myself down before blowing air out of my lips to push my hair that had matted to my lips up.
"Don’t you ever say something like that to me again; you’re the imposter in the family, and I can assure you that I can kill you right now and here if you say that again,n," He warned.
"Then go ahead..kill me" I retorted boldly.
The man holding my hair tightened his grip as he pulled my head back, a groan pushing past my lips at the pain from the strands of hair that threatened to give out under the force.
"Coward just like your father" Master LaRosa smirked at me.
The fact that he mentioned my father was enough to send me into a rampage but I kept quiet, trying to rein in the pain from my hair instead as I kept my gaze on master LaRosa.
"I’ll ask again, what’s Gamma Haven?" He asked, this turn, leaning over me so he could peer directly into my eyes.
"I don’t know what you mean by that" I didn’t know what Gamma Haven was, but I knew it was something important to Vincenzo, and be damned if I was going to feed this man with any sort of information, even if I knew the answer to any of it.
His jaw tightened at my answer, and I knew he was looking at me to see if I was lying. When he didn’t see anything, he sighed and straightened up. "I’m gonna assume you don’t know what that is, but now let me ask... what’s Vincenzo’s end game? You should know that, shouldn’t you?"
I opened my mouth to say the usual no that I had already promised to reply to all his questions with when he pulled a revolver at me and stepped closer, the metal barrel pressing into my forehead and digging into my skin while he kept his finger on the trigger.
"Say no one more time, and I swear to God I will pull the trigger," He threatened.
My lips wobbled but I tried to keep them together as I looked up at him, ignoring the weapon on me. "You’re right... I shouldn’t say no"
He smirked, seeing how calm my tone had turned. "Good, now let’s try that again; what’s Vincenzo’s end game?"
"Fuck you" I spat out.
Master LaRosa’s eyes darkened at that answer and he pulled the gun away from my head. "You are one stubborn bitch"
"You didn’t expect me to be compliant, did you? My dad was never like that, and I never intend to be," I spat back at him, my words laced with venom.
A smile spread his lips and he nodded to one of his men. "Cal, she’s yours for the next hour. Show our guest how we welcome sluts like her into the family" He ordered, gesturing for the others to get out.
My eyes widened immediately because I knew what that meant. "No...no." I struggled against the ropes, but they only seemed to tighten more, yet I continued to buck around, my eyes wide with panic.
Master LaRosa and the other three men left the room and the slender one who was grabbing my hair earlier let go of it before turning to come to my front.
"It’s been too long" he muttered to himself as he gripped my chin roughly. "You know what type of welcome party you deserve?"
I kept my mouth shut while glaring up at him. "You bastard, Vincenzo will kill you"
He let out a chuff of laughter. "Wrong, that bastard respects his father so much and will do whatever Master LaRosa says"
I immediately began to think. What if he was right? Vincenzo may not want to disobey his father.
Shit.
I was on my own now.
"You know what you’re gonna do now?" The man hissed, bringing my attention back to him.
My eyes widened as he used his free hand to unbuckle his belt while he gripped my chin forcefully with the other, preventing me from looking away.
He pulled the belt away, the metal clanging to the floor as he threw it down and began to work on his zip.
My eyes flickered to the gun that was lying on the table a few feet away from him, and I realized it was his gun. I just needed to get my hands on that.
"C’mon bitch" He groaned as he pulled down his trousers and palmed himself through the thin boxers he was wearing, his dark eyes fixed on me.
Disgusting son of a bitch.
Instead of voicing out my disgust, I forced myself to remain passive. "Is this how you expect me to do it?"
He paused, seemingly thinking about it, then looked me over to see if I was a threat, and then he grinned. "I knew it. Once a slut, always a slut. I see why the bastard kept fucking you," He muttered, awkwardly stepping out of his trousers and pulling out a small pocketknife which he used to cut me loose.
As soon as I shrugged the rope off me, he came to my front and waved the knife at me. "C’mon... show me what that mouth can do" he grinned.
I smiled up at him and before he could say another word, I took a sharp jab at him with my elbow, connecting it to his groin.
He let out a loud yell and doubled over, the knife dropping to the floor; I immediately stood up and made a run for it to the table where the gun was, ignoring the ache in my legs.
He quickly recovered, though, and he grabbed the knife off the floor, aiming it at me with a curse before he threw it; however, I quickly dodged it, silently praising myself for all the classes with Vincenzo to improve my speed.
I knew he was gonna charge at me, so I grabbed the gun and aimed at him, my hands trembling as I expected him to freeze, but he clearly didn’t expect me to shoot as he lunged at me.
"I’m sorry..." I whispered to myself then I pulled the trigger.
