Sold to Bastard Alpha after My Divorce!-Chapter 130
Rebecca’s POV 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
I’d been watching Aria for weeks now.
Tracking her movements. Learning her schedule. Memorizing every pathetic detail of her boring little life.
It was almost too easy.
The woman had no instincts. No awareness. She walked around this territory like she belonged here, completely oblivious to the predator stalking her every step.
Pathetic.
Today was supposed to be reconnaissance only. Just another day of watching and waiting. Gathering information for when I finally made my move.
I’d parked my car across the street from Blood Crown Industries. Found a nice shadowy corner where I could see the front entrance without being noticed.
Three hours.
Three hours of sitting in this damn car, watching wolves in suits come and go. Three hours of boredom and frustration and plotting.
I was just about to give up. Call it a day. Go home and take a long bath and dream about all the ways I was going to destroy Aria Shadow Moon.
Then I saw him.
My heart stopped.
A black car. Sleek. Expensive. The kind of car that screamed ALPHA in capital letters.
It pulled up to the building’s entrance. Parked in the spot that was always left empty. The spot no one dared to use because everyone knew who it belonged to.
The door opened.
Kael stepped out.
I forgot how to breathe.
Three years. Three years since I’d seen him up close. Three years since he’d looked at me with those black-gold eyes that used to make my knees weak.
He looked different now. Harder. More powerful. The Alpha energy radiating off him was almost visible.
And still devastatingly, unfairly, impossibly handsome.
My fingers tightened on the steering wheel.
What was he doing here?
Kael never came to the company. Everyone knew that. He was too busy with pack business. Too important for mundane corporate affairs.
So why was he storming into the building like a man possessed?
I watched him disappear through the glass doors.
Interesting.
Very, very interesting.
I should leave. This was getting too risky. If Kael was here, security would be tighter. Eyes would be sharper. Getting caught stalking his company would be... bad.
But I couldn’t make myself drive away.
Something was happening. I could feel it. Some instinct told me to wait. To watch. To see what unfolded.
So I settled back into my seat. Kept my eyes fixed on the entrance.
And waited.
---
The minutes crawled by.
Ten. Twenty. Thirty.
I checked my phone a hundred times. Reapplied my lipstick twice. Fidgeted with the air conditioning.
Nothing.
The building’s entrance remained quiet. Employees trickled out as the day ended. None of them were the ones I was waiting for.
My patience was wearing thin.
What was taking so long?
I was just reaching for my keys, ready to finally admit defeat, when the doors burst open.
A woman came flying out.
Dark hair streaming behind her. Heels clicking frantically against the pavement. Moving like the devil himself was chasing her.
My eyes widened.
Aria.
She looked... destroyed.
Even from across the street, I could see the tears streaming down her face. Could see the way her shoulders shook with sobs. Could see the absolute devastation written in every line of her body.
A slow smile spread across my face.
Well, well, well.
What happened in there?
She was running like something terrible had occurred. Like her whole world had just collapsed.
Ha!
I could just imagine it. The shock on his face. The awkward confrontation. The inevitable rejection.
Because there was no way Kael would want her now. Not Aria Shadow Moon. Not the wolfless, scentless, worthless Omega who’d already proven she couldn’t hold onto a man.
He’d probably told her to leave. Probably reminded her of her place. Probably crushed whatever pathetic hopes she’d been harboring about their "reunion."
Poor little Aria.
Running away crying like the weak creature she was.
I laughed out loud. The sound bounced around my empty car.
This was better than anything I could have planned. Kael had done my job for me. Broken her spirit without me lifting a finger.
Then the doors burst open again.
Kael.
He came sprinting out of the building like a man chasing something precious. His eyes were wild. His face was tight with desperation.
He was chasing HER.
My laughter died.
Wait.
What?
That wasn’t right.
If he’d rejected her, why was he running after her? Why did he look so desperate? Why was he acting like losing her would kill him?
This couldn’t be happening.
Not after everything I’d done. Not after three years of waiting.
Kael was supposed to be MINE. Had always been mine. Would always BE mine. I was his perfect match. I was the one who’d been by his side since childhood.
My hands were shaking as I threw open my car door.
I had to stop this.
Had to intervene.
Had to remind Kael who he really belonged with.
I practically fell out of the car in my haste. My heel caught on the curb. I stumbled. Caught myself.
Fix your appearance, I told myself. You look like a mess. He can’t see you like this.
I smoothed my hair with trembling fingers. Adjusted my dress. Checked my reflection in the car window.
Perfect.
I always looked perfect.
That was my advantage over women like Aria. I knew how to present myself. How to be exactly what a man wanted. How to make myself irresistible.
I started walking toward the building. Slowly at first. Then faster as I saw Kael getting further away.
He was still chasing her. Still calling her name. Still acting like she was the only thing in the world that mattered.
It made me sick.
I positioned myself carefully. Found the perfect spot in his path. Waited for just the right moment.
He was almost at the corner. Almost out of sight.
NOW.
I stepped directly in front of him.
"Oh! Kael!"
My voice came out perfectly. Surprised. Delighted. Like running into him was the happiest accident in the world.
"Long time no see! I didn’t expect to run into you here!"
He nearly crashed into me.
Stopped just short. His chest heaving. His eyes wild and unfocused.
For a moment, he didn’t seem to recognize me. Didn’t seem to see me at all. His gaze was fixed on something in the distance. On someone.
On HER.
"Move." His voice was rough. Barely controlled.
"What’s the rush?" I smiled. Sweet. Innocent. "It’s been so long since we talked. I’ve missed you, Kael."
His eyes finally focused on me. And what I saw there made my blood run cold.
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
No warmth. No recognition. No hint that I’d ever meant anything to him.
Just irritation. Impatience. The look you’d give an insect buzzing around your head.
"I don’t have time for this." His voice was ice. "I don’t have time for YOU."
"Oh, I see what’s happening." I crossed my arms. Tilted my head. "You’re chasing after that little omega, aren’t you? What’s her name again? Aria?"
"You know," I said casually, "if you’re that worried about her, she’s probably just heading to pick up her little daughter. You shouldn’t stress yourself."
Kael froze.
The change was instantaneous.
One second he was trying to push past me. The next he was completely, utterly still.
"You said little daughter?" His voice was a snarl. Raw. Primal. "Whose daughter?"
