So I Am A Demon Descendent!-Chapter 79: Special Weapon
Li Xianyu finally understood why Lightning King drew his blood: it was to save the life of Long Aotian. The old man had expected that he would be dealt with severely by the other colleagues the day that he woke up. They went to the revolving restaurant to have a full meal before going back to Lightning King’s office.
Lightning King had been waiting for a while. Without beating about the bush, he asked, “What happened in the virtual world?”
In fact, he could have asked them to write a report for him, but he could no longer wait. Hence, he wanted to ask them directly; they were in the company anyway.
Li Xianyu murmured, “It’s a long story.”
Lightning King replied, “Make it short and concise.”
Li Xianyu looked at San Wu, who answered with a serious expression: “It’s green. It’s green. Long Aotian has been made green.”
Lightning King was confused. He placed a hand on his forehead and said, “As far as I know, Long Aotian should have become more powerful. Even San Wu cannot break free. Thunderbolt Battle Lady, Lady Killer and King Kong have failed, but you two managed to keep awake. Then, the virtual world collapsed and Long Aotian woke up. How did both of you do that?”
San Wu replied, “It’s very simple.”
Lightning King raised his eyebrows. “How do you put it?”
Sanwu replied again, “It’s green. It’s green. Long Aotian has been made green.”
Li Xianyu coughed and said, “Let me tell you, it’s all due to luck, I wasn’t entirely confident at that time too…”
He briefly described what happened in the virtual world, focusing on the attack on Long Aotian and the way he used to break the formation.
Lightning King remained speechless for a long time after hearing the entire story. His mouth twitched fiercely and his heart was very hapless.
“The trouble that plagued Baoze for most of the year… all the spiritual awakeners were helpless. It was solved so easily just because a woman was violated?”
Lightning King felt intellectually insulted, like never before.
Li Xianyu randomly picked up a pack of cigarettes on Lightning King’s table. He knocked the cigarette butt on the table, lit it, and comfortably exhaled smoke.
“I think the approach in solving this problem was wrong. The essence of this matter is not that the formation trapped Long Aotian and the other demon descendants. In other words, the problem did not lie in the formation itself, but with Long Aotian. He ran amok and took control of the formation. He was the key to the problem. But, the other colleagues were purely focused on breaking the formation. Like a virus in a computer, it can be solved by reformatting the hard disk. However, all of you wanted to take the computer apart and reassemble one part after another. This increased the difficulty of the problem itself.
Lightning King replied, “Long Aotian himself? He became one with the formation. If you want to beat him, you must beat the virtual world first.”
Li Xianyu continued, “No, no, no, I don’t understand all these. I can only say that it is much easier to find loopholes in Long Aotian than in the virtual world. Long Aotian is a devoted otaku. The virtual world is a kind of “realization” of his fantasy. Everything in it is what he cherishes, especially women. When he couldn’t explain the loopholes that appeared in his woman, there were only two ways to proceed. The first was to turn a blind eye to it, put on his cap and continue to immerse himself in the world that he had knitted. The second was to admit that he had been made a cuckold and smash the virtual world.”
“It seemed like he had two choices, but in fact, there was only one. Once he admitted it, then the beauty of the virtual world would no longer exist. It would also lose its significance.”
Lightning King nodded slightly. “Ah, I see. You should take credit for the completion of this task. There’s a 300-point reward for the completion of this task. You should know that.”
Li Xianyu nodded.
“I’ll give you 150 points. Sanwu and the rest can split the other points. Okay with you?”
“No problem.”
Of course, it didn’t matter. Battle Lady and San Wu did their parts as well. This distribution was very fair.
Lightning King said, “I helped you calculate. You donated blood twice, the reward is 10 points per donation. Bian Que compensated you for 50 points. That’s half a year’s salary. Coupled with 150 points from Long Aotian’s mission, you have a total of 220 points. 200 points is sufficient for exchanging a special weapon.”
At present, Li Xianyu’s concept of points was still blurry, as he had never exchanged points for anything. In just one month of joining Baoze, he had earned more points than what other employees earned in years. However, he had not felt the satisfaction yet, as he had not reaped the fruits of his labour.
For domestic demon descendants, Baoze Group’s points system was a very popular currency. Every family had their own share of reserve points, which could be used to exchange with weapons or favours from Baoze.
For example, the weapon of space was very popular with the younger generations of the major families and factions.
…
The armoury of Baoze Group was on the 44th floor of the office building. To be exact, it was the office of the equipment department. The main office of the armoury was located in a warehouse, near the suburbs of Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Because Li Xianyu came here for the first time, Lightning King led the way. He bypassed the security, and as soon as he stepped into the site, Li Xianyu heard an enchanting roar.
“The handle of this sword is too ugly, didn’t I tell you to perform an inlay on this? What’s the most important value of Baoze employees? It’s dignity!”
“Why aren’t these wallets made of crocodile skin? Don’t tell me it’s to protect animals. Get out. If you don’t even have the most basic dignity, do animals still have the meaning of existence?”
A man in a suit and leather shoes stood in the middle of the office and barked out orders, as he combed his neatly arranged hair.
“Feng Rui, decency is a talent. You can’t ask others to be as talented as you are.” Lightning King knocked on the glass door.
The man turned his head at once. Li Xianyu saw his face. He was a man of about 30 years old. He dressed decently, and looked decent as well. His beard was clean shaven. His eyebrows had been fixed, and somewhat threaded…
Feng Rui strode towards him and exclaimed, “King?”
“Let me introduce. Feng Rui, Armoury Director.”
Lightning King took another picture of Li Xianyu and remarked, “New employee, Li Xianyu. I brought him here to choose a special weapon for him. Take all your good stuff out.”
A new employee selecting a special weapon…
Feng Rui looked at Li Xianyu carefully. “Are there any gold mines in your family? How did you get 200 points?”
“Long Aotian woke up, you know… this kid solved it,” Lightning King said.
“You’re a decent man at first sight.” Feng Rui tapped Li Xianyu’s shoulder with appreciation. Feng Rui took them to a secret room where the weapons were stored. The room was enforced with three thick doors. With a tap, the doors creaked open in succession.
Countless weapons were placed in the room. Some were hung up on the walls, some were placed on the tables, while some leaned against the walls. It looked like a scene in a movie, where the main lead entered a gun chamber. It was different though. The guns were replaced by weapons here.
“What kind of weapon is needed?” Feng Rui asked.
“Wait a minute. I’ll call my great-grandmother,” Li Xianyu said.
“You can focus on attacking sharp, or defending sharp. You recommend it yourself.” Lightning King put Li Xianyu’s phone away and continued, “Your great-grandmother is not here. She will not accompany you forever. You can make these trivial decisions for yourself. Don’t be like an unweaned child.”
That was easy for you to say. Don’t treat me like a veteran. That’s you. I’m still a newbie, Li Xianyu thought to himself.
Feng Rui walked half a round in the room and took off a sword handle from the wall. “How about this one? It’s a replica of the lightsaber in Star Wars. It’s super cool. You can harness the power of the sword inside by injecting qi.”
He demonstrated the process to Li Xianyu. A sword, half a meter long, protruded out of the handle. It appeared extremely dazzling.
“We have also made new innovations. The length of the lightsaber can be controlled by the strength of the qi injection. It can be long or short, and it can work wonderfully in battle. The only disadvantage is that it consumes quite a bit of qi,” Feng Rui said.
Li Xianyu paused for a moment and answered, “I have this myself.”
