Slime Evolution-Chapter 37 - Lisa
Before Lohan could say anything, the fox explained herself. "Calm down, first of all, this forest, and all the ones around us, are low-level forests. The monsters in these places are low-level and therefore give us very little experience, which is why my level has risen so little."
"Why didn’t you go to higher level places?" Lohan asked, confused, thinking of various reasons such as geographical barriers, too large a level discrepancy, lack of mobility, too long a distance, but the answer he received surprised him.
"Because of you," she said, looking directly at him again.
"Because of me?" Lohan asked, confused.
She nodded. "I’ll be honest with you, the process of developing a Guild is not easy, and for me it can be even more difficult for personal reasons that I can tell you if you join me, but even with this difficulty, I have a very high chance of success because my Spiritual Fox Race is a Legendary Race, and my Illusion Weaver Class is a Rare Class. With this combination alone, I already have enough confidence to face the challenge head-on."
Lohan was completely shocked.
Having an Uncommon race or class was already rare, since in his college class, among the Elysium Players he identified, 65% had Common races or classes.
19% were among the "Uncommon."
12% were among the "Rare" ones.
And only one person had a race above that, which Lohan had not yet identified what tier it was, despite hearing a girl comment that it was an Epic Race or Class.
This data was not entirely accurate and could be adjusted up or down in a larger sample for the Common, Uncommon, and Rare ones.
As for the Epic ones, these are even more difficult to account for, let alone Legendary ones.
And to intensify this even further, not only did this fox have a Legendary Race, but her Class was already a Rare Class.
Although Classes could be changed, as Lohan saw in comments from Players who got involved with NPCs and got more advanced classes, that didn’t mean getting a Rare class was easy.
And unlike Class, theoretically, race couldn’t be changed!
If it weren’t for his own luck in having a Mythical Race and Class, Lohan would have been green with envy at the luck of this fox in front of him.
"With such a powerful combination, why wait for me?" Lohan asked, genuinely confused.
Despite showing talent, he didn’t think he showed potential superior to that of a Rare Race, and for someone at her level, that shouldn’t be so shocking.
But the question she asked surprised him. "Someone called other guilds offering themselves as a Mythic rarity Slime a few weeks ago, my contacts learned this information and adding to the strangeness of seeing you evolve so fast, a suspicion arose. Tell me, are you the Player who offered yourself as a Mythic Race?"
-- BOOOM!
The third mental shock hit Lohan.
’Holy shit, was the former owner of this body an idiot? I took every precaution when researching my physical growth so as not to be tracked, and the idiot called the most powerful guilds controlled by interplanetary billionaires and trillionaires from his own cell phone... Great, as if a 30,000 debt that already seemed desperate enough wasn’t enough, now I also have to worry about guild owners who will connect the dots if they hear about a Slime standing out?
This was the most shocking and worrying information Lohan received today. Compared to what he had just heard, which directly involved his safety, the other information was of little relevance.
Thinking quickly, Lohan realized that perhaps the only person who could help him in this situation was that little white fox.
As someone capable of gathering information in this way, with enough power in the real world to resist attacks from other guilds while creating her own, and enough in-game power to also stand out and with a clear interest in helping him, this could be a beneficial exchange.
’My value from here on out will only increase, not only because of my Mythic Race, but also because of my Mythic Class, which together give me an increase much greater than 1 + 1 = 2. And with my value constantly increasing, I would inevitably get in the way of other guilds. Between someone who rejected me without mercy and someone who delayed their own development because they saw value in my potential, the choice is obvious.’
And after calming down, Lohan didn’t blame the former owner of this body so much. After all, he didn’t even know that this was more than just a game.
The fox did not rush Lohan, seeing that he was in doubt, and considering the weight of this information, she understood his shock and fear now.
What she didn’t say was that this was also a test.
She wasn’t 100% sure that this Slime was the Mythical Slime she had heard about, nor did she know if that Slime was real, but she was sure that the rarity of this Slime’s Race was at least as high as hers.
If he lied and said he had an Epic race, she could still maintain the invitation out of respect for the power he would have, but her trust in him would also decrease a degree and would need to be regained little by little.
Considering the sincerity she showed in revealing that she had a Legendary Race, she at least expected the same in return.
And after a few minutes of consideration, the Slime sighed mentally and replied in a calm voice. "Since you were also sincere with me, I will treat you the same way... yes, I am that Slime with a Mythical Race you’ve heard about."
It was as if a shock had struck the little fox.
As much as she imagined that this would be the result, a part of her still imagined that the part about being a Mythical Race was a lie, and that in fact he "only" had a Legendary Race.
This was one of the few times she had been surpassed by someone apparently of her generation.
But seeing that he was sincere with her, an involuntary smile appeared on the fox’s face, which, although it looked sinister to an outsider, still made her happiness clear.
"That’s great, then my wait was worth it!" She said excitedly, unaware of the white, furry tail wagging behind her.
"Then let’s start from the beginning. Hi, I’m Lisa." She said, extending her small paw forward.
Lohan looked at it and formed his small childish hand as well. "Hi, I’m Halon."
