If my flames won’t work, I’ll focus on using Negative Energy to attack with instead. I can’t afford to be too reckless with my Mana though, so I’ll need to be a bit conservative with my Negative Energy Generation.

More importantly, I need to stay sharp, she’s faster and stronger than I am at my currently unleashed level, so I need to move and react as fast as I possibly can.

I swiftly raced away as Kanine whipped her arm in my direction, firing out slashing waves from her claws before rapidly chasing after me.

She got down on all fours as she began to close in, putting on a sharp burst of speed before leaping towards me and snapping her jaws at my neck.

I quickly arched my upper body back, her fangs grazing the right side of my neck, before I drove my left fist up, Negative Energy swirling around it, propelling my fist with a burst of Negative Energy from behind my elbow.

She narrowly blocked my strike with her left forearm, a slight crunch ringing out, before the fiery burst upon impact blew her away as she clawed at my arm with her other hand, but failed to cut through Pyro Impact, my Personalis Arma gauntlets.

It’s a good thing I have these, ordinary gear wouldn’t be able to block attacks from a Personalis Arma.

Her feet skidded back across the sand, before she snapped open her mouth and unleashed a loud, deafening howl.

I sprinted away at full speed, leaping across to evade the bellowing wave of sound, before she shot towards me again, firing out slashing waves from her claws as she closed in. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

I swiftly got low to evade the slashes, which severed a few strands of my hair, before I sprang back up and crossed my arms in front of myself as she drove her claws towards the middle of my chest.

Suddenly, the thrust of her arm came to an abrupt halt, before she spun across slightly and lunged forward, shooting past my right and inflicting a deep gash across my side, a couple of her fingers breaking as the fiery burst triggered.

I spun around as she slipped past me and leapt forward, unfurling a vicious thrust of her claws towards my throat.

She inflicted a shallow cut across the left side of my neck as I tilted my head across, one of her claws snapping off and flying away a fiery burst erupted over the side of my neck, before she quickly sprang back and backed away as I drove my fist towards her head, evading it and getting some distance.

Hm, her instincts are pretty sharp, she’s bracing herself to withstand the fiery bursts and inflict more damage to me than she’s sustaining from the force of my fiery bursts.

Her attacks are getting sharper and more accurate, she’s adapting fast. She’s definitely a step up above most of the other Sentinels we’ve encountered, as far as skill is concerned.

I let out a slow exhale and cracked my neck, before assuming a defensive stance as she eyed me closely while keeping her distance.

A few tense seconds passed, before she shot towards me, unleashing another deafening howl.

As I raced away, I sprang forward as she swung her arm up and fired out vertical slashing waves towards me, just barely evading the attacks.

My feet skidded along the ground as I landed and spun across, right as she closed in on me and zipped forward, inflicting a deep gash across my stomach, yelping slightly as an intense fiery burst erupted, breaking her arm as she shot past me.

I gritted my teeth and spun around as the gash began to close up, right as she sprang at me and drove her claws towards my heart, her broken arm rapidly healing itself.

I twisted my upper body across at the last second, gasping sharply as her claws plunged into the right side of my chest.

She winced sharply and stiffened as a powerful burst of heat erupted around that spot, jarring her arm, before she tensed as my right hand shot up and I grabbed hold of the middle of her arm before she could pull it back out.

Consecutive fiery bursts erupted from my palm as I tightened my grip over her arm, drawing back my left fist and driving it towards the middle of her torso with a fierce yell of exertion, charging Negative Energy into it.

I tilted my head back, inadvertently lifting the trajectory of my arm, as she lashed out with her other arm, whipping her claws towards my eyes.

My fist slammed onto the middle of her chest as her claws sliced through my right eye and began to cut into the bridge of my nose, before she got blown away by the force of my strike, a burst of Negative Energy and heat erupting from my fist as it collided against her chest.

Blood poured out of her mouth as she got sent hurtling back through the air, before twisting her body across as she gritted her teeth, landing on all fours and skidding back slightly.

I let out a slow exhale to catch my breath and compose myself as my eye and the hole in the right side of my chest regenerated, keeping a watchful eye on her.

Honestly, I’m doing better than I expected, considering how much of my full power I’ve kept in reserve.

If I had managed to land that last hit on her solar plexus, would it have been enough force to fatally damage her Core?

I suppose it’s a moot point, and I doubt I’m going to get another opening like that, she’s almost certain to be extra cautious and vigilant of protecting her Core.

"Despite the disparity in power, you have performed remarkably well, human. However, you missed your opportunity, and you will not get another. Now that I know the full extent of what you’re capable of, it will not be much longer before I kill you," She remarked, as she shook some blood off her fur.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I want her to think.

"Maybe, but so what?" I responded defensively, acting tense.

"Surrender now and I shall give you a quick and painless death. But if you continue to resist, you are bound to suffer more before you die."

"Perhaps. But I’m willing to take my chances."
