"<Dragon Lightning>!" Exclaimed Cleo as I ducked, devastating streaks of lightning shooting out from behind me and blasting several Wyverns.
I then fired out several piercing beams of Negative Energy, targeting the middle of the large Monsters’ bodies and shooting through their Cores.
A loud crunch rang out as Ai slammed a couple of Wyverns’ heads against each other, crushing their skulls upon impact, before I raced forward and unleashed a fierce burst of Negative Energy around me as I closed in on several Wyverns, knocking them off-balance.
"[Super Accel Flame Lance]!" I exclaimed, as I leapt towards one of them and drove my right arm forward, drilling through the middle of its neck and bursting into its throat.
I yanked my arm back out as the Monster began to fall over, before spinning around and whipping my left arm across, firing out a slashing wave of Negative Energy as a Lightning Wyvern behind me opened its mouth, charging up lightning.
My slash zipped into its open mouth and sliced through, lopping off its upper jaw and the top of its head, the lightning dissipating as the Monster went limp, fell over and hit the ground with a crash.
A sharp thud echoed out by the ceiling, as Ai slammed a Wind Wyvern against the top of the space with a powerful uppercut, before she leapt straight up while driving both fists towards the Monster’s chest, a crunch followed by a deafening roar of pain ringing out as she shattered its ribcage upon impact, blood gushing out of its mouth.
I backed away as I deactivated Blaze Ignition: Flare, letting out a slow exhale before firing out a barrage of Negative Energy blasts, Cleo following my lead and firing out a fierce volley of piercing wind blasts, while Ai continued bashing the Wyverns with her fists, the two of us covering her.
It wasn’t long before all but one of the Monsters was dead, a Frost Dragon emerged through the tunnel ahead of us, cold mist flowing around its jaws as it let out a growl and narrowed its eyes at us.
"You wanna take this one, or shall I?" I asked Cleo.
"Let me. You can handle the next Dungeon Boss, and we’ll alternate from there," She replied, as she stepped forward.
"Alright, then, all yours," I nodded, as Ai backed away towards me.
"Here goes...<Monstrification>."
A sharp burst of energy erupted around Cleo as she tranformed, the monstrous features appearing all over her body, her power surging.
She’s now acquired Dragon Skills, as well as the Archdemons’ Instant Regeneration, and her Monstrification has gotten stronger as a result.
That form still looks the same at first glance, but her scales are more durable than before, upgraded from Wyvern scales to Dragon scales.
"<Mana Blades>," She chanted, as she morphed her arms to resemble that of a King Ant’s, blades of dark, murky energy forming above her knuckles before she whipped her right arm across, firing out a slashing wave of the murky energy.
A shallow cut appeared across the Frost Dragon’s chest, trickles of blood running down before freezing against its scales, the Monster growling before snapping its jaws open and firing out a freezing blast of frost towards her.
She zipped up into the air to evade the blade, before launching herself forward with a sharp burst of wind from behind her, snapping her mouth open and firing out a deafening sonic screech.
The Dragon swiftly shrunk down to its humanoid form and zipped away, narrowly evading the wave of ringing sound, before it quickly twisted its body across as Cleo followed it with her gaze and fired out a pair of rapid petrifying beams from her eyes.
One of the beams grazed the Dragon’s left elbow, petrifying that spot before the petrification rapidly began spread out across the Monster’s forearm and bicep.
The Frost Dragon quickly grabbed the upper part of its right arm with its left hand, before tearing it off with a violent twist, right in the nick of time before the petrification could spread further, a stifled grunt of pain ringing out.
It raced away as it dropped its petrified arm, which shattered to pieces as it hit the ground, the Dragon freezing the stump left around its right shoulder before it turned its gaze across as a wide net of sticky spider webs came shooting towards it.
It snapped its jaws open and fired out a devastating burst of frost, freezing the net solid and batting it away, before stiffening and spinning around as Cleo swooped down behind it.
She unleashed a deafening blast of sound from her mouth, hitting the back of the Dragon’s head before it could react, blood bursting out of its ear holes.
As the Monster stumbled forward with a dazed look on its face, Cleo lunged forward and drove her left arm towards the left side of the Monster’s upper back, her Mana Blade piercing through its scales and plunging into its heart, before she pulled her arm back with a sharp twist.
The Dragon collapsed onto its knees and fell over, puffs of dust rising up as it hit the ground with a thud, the walls of the Dungeon starting to disintegrate.
In the blink of an eye, we suddenly found ourselves back outside, surrounded by piles of Dragonoid and Wyvern corpses, plus the Frost Dragon, of course.
"No doubt about it, you’ve improved tremendously," I remarked, approaching Cleo as she reverted back to her base form.
"Yeah, these Calamity Level Monsters are a lot easier to deal with now, and I think I’m getting a lot better at bottling in my hatred and consequently flying off into a blind rage," She replied with a sheepish smile.
"That’s definitely a relief, you were letting your emotions control you way too easily. You aren’t going to accomplish your goal of wiping out the Monsters if you end up getting yourself killed, after all, so keep working on keeping a cool head," I smiled, patting her shoulder encouragingly.
"Mhm, got it."
"Now, then...let’s take a short break to recover a bit of energy, and then head on to the next one."
"Yeah, sounds good."
