Sinner System-Chapter 457: The Sentinels (Part 3)

"Oh, holy shit," Uttered Iseul, as she looked around as the widespread death and destruction before us, grimacing as she narrowed her eyes at the imposing figure amidst the devastation.

"So, what exactly are you?" I inquired, stepping forward.

"My, what impressive composure, human. I am known as Sky, the Avian Queen, one of the Demon Lord’s Sentinels," The Monster introduced herself with a regal bow of her head.

Is she an unknown stage in the evolutionary cycle of Harpies? She certainly looks like that’s the case...but her Aura, plus the ability to speak, that’s definitely new.

And what’s a Sentinel? I thought the strongest among the Demon Lord’s forces were his Generals, so...maybe this Monster is new? She said ’one of’...I hope that doesn’t mean there are more besides her and the other two that have shown up.

A humanoid bird creature, with an eagle-like head and beak, she was covered in mostly fiery orange feathers, but also had a pattern of electric blue and airy green feathers on the ends of her wings and tail feathers, and few more blue and green patterns across her torso, back and neck.

Unlike the various Harpies and their evolved forms, her wings were on her back, and she had arms, with sharp talons over her fingers.

Her feathers are like a mix of Phoenix, Roc and Thunderbird feathers, which could very well mean that she possesses the same abilities as all three of those species...including the Phoenix ability to resurrect when killed.

Ohh, yeah...this should be fun!

"[Telekinetic Shroud]," I chanted, coating my entire body in a defensive telekinetic cloak, charging telekinetic energy behind my back.

I smirked in excitement and anticipation as I launched myself towards her with a powerful burst of telekinesis from behind me, drawing back my right fist as I closed in.

Telekinesis swirled around my fist, before I fired a pressurized telekinetic burst from behind my elbow to drive my fist forward, my eyes widening in surprise as she raised her left hand and caught my fist, a burst of force erupting upon impact as she blunted my strike with her palm.

"Hm, more force than anticipated, that stings quite a bit," She mused, before I quickly pulled my fist back as she began to clamp her talons around it, trickles of blood running down my hand.

"It’s over...[Telekinetic Zone]!" I exclaimed, generating a forcefield of a two meter radius, the Monster’s eyes widening as her body froze within the bounds of my forcefield.

Now, to crush her Core and-...!

Suddenly, she unleashed a powerful burst of wind, blowing me away before I could apply enough pressure, a shaken look on her face as she clutched at the middle of her body.

D-Damn it...!

I ran my sleeve across my upper lip as blood trickled out of my nostrils, my chest pounding painfully...I can only use Telekinetic Zone for a few seconds, and then I can’t use it again for about an hour.

If I try to force it before then, it’ll give me a heart attack and knock me out...at best. At worst, my heart will literally explode and kill me instantly.

I can’t use it again in this battle, even if I want to. My chest hurts, I’m already in a weakened state, and even if I’m willing to sacrifice myself, trying to forcibly use Telekinetic Zone won’t work, I’d just be injuring or killing myself for no reason.

Damn it...I should’ve waited for a better opening...

Several bolts of lightning came shooting out towards her from behind me, but she didn’t bother dodging, the lightning bolts hitting her but had no effect.

Looks like she’s got Elemental Immunity...

"Oh, come on...thish shucksh, how am I shupposhed to help if my Magic doeshn’t work on her?" Sighed Iseul in exasperation, downing the last bit of the vodka in her bottle, before tossing it away with a huff and chanting, "[Lightning Boosht]."

Our opponent may be immune to Elemental Magic, but the same goes for me. So only her physical attacks will have any effect on me.

"[Telekinetic Flight]," I chanted as I launched myself up into the air, before rapidly swooping down towards Sky as Iseul raced forward, intense lightning crackling around her entire body.

Iseul lunged forward as she closed in, driving her jagged blade towards Sky’s chest, grimacing as the Monster caught the blade between her talons, right as I closed in with my fists balled together and raised high, intense telekinesis swirling around them.

She swiftly raised her other arm up as I swung my fists down, wincing slightly as a devastating burst of force erupted upon impact, her legs buckling before a powerful burst of wind exploded around her, blowing us away.

I unleashed a telekinetic burst behind my back to cancel out the momentum, hovering up in the air as Iseul’s feet skidded along the ground, coming to a sliding halt.

My eyes widened slightly as Sky suddenly appeared right before, an intense gust of wind erupting as she shot up into the air and closed in on me in an instant.

"How bold of you...to take to the air, my domain, in a battle against me," She remarked, before a devastating shockwave erupted between us as I triggered a telekinetic burst as she simultaneously unleashed a fierce blast of wind.

The resulting shockwave as our attacks collided pushed us both several meters back through the air, before I unleashed rapid, slashing waves of telekinesis towards her wings as I swung my arms down.

She turned her body across as my slashes closed in on her, whizzing past her front and back before she fired out a roaring blast of flames towards me.

I unleashed several consecutive telekinetic bursts behind myself, zipping straight through the flames and swirling telekinetic energy around my right hand, driving it forward as I closed in on her and unleashed a pressurized, piercing burst of telekinesis towards the middle of her torso.

A stifled cry of pain rang out as she twisted her body across, my attack drilling a hole through the right side of her torso, blood pouring out. She then unleashed a sharp burst of wind to knock me back, vanishing from sight with an intense gust of wind as she spread out her wings.

My gaze quickly darted around before my head snapped up as I spotted a blur zipping in from above me, a blinding pain hitting my head as I found myself hurtling down towards the ground.

I gritted my teeth and unleashed a sharp telekinetic burst below myself to break my fall, quickly rolling out of the way as she swooped down with immense speed.

I felt the talons on her foot tearing through the side of my right bicep, before I blasted myself away with a pressurized burst of telekinesis, sending myself skidding along the ground across several meters. I then scrambled back onto my feet and backed away further as I came to a sliding halt across the dirt.

As I got back up, Iseul sprang up behind Sky with her blade arched back, before slashing at the Monster’s nape.

Her eyes widened as Sky caught the blade between her talons and flung Iseul away with a powerful flick of her wrist. A loud crash rang out as Iseul slammed onto a pile of rubble, coughing out blood upon impact, the lightning around her flickering before stabilizing as she got back onto her feet with a grimace.

Until just now, Sky wasn’t taking us seriously...I could barely follow her movements at all. And she broke through my Telekinetic Shroud so easily, though it at least absorbed enough of her attack to keep her from splitting my head open.

Still, this is a pretty nasty couple of gashes across the front of my head and forehead, it’s matting down my hair and streaming into my eyes. And it hurts to move my right arm, I should stay on the defensive for a few minutes, just until I heal up-... 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
