Signing-In: The Lazy Moon Goddess-Chapter 646: Bidding Farewell

After telling the ancestor of the Moon Clan, Yue Zhiyan, what the Moon Goddess’s grandmother’s name is, the elder had shown a rare surprised expression which eventually turned into a smile. His wife was affected by his tribulation in his tribulant realm and died for his sake. This regret had always been Yue Zhiyan’s heart demon and had been suffering for it through the years. Now learning from her daughter’s future self that her grandmother was reborn with her, the heavy burden in his heart starts easing.

Yue Xuexia knew that her grandfather in his timeline didn’t have her grandmother after hearing his lonely voice when he mentioned about the life trials for the emperor and tribulant realm. Like her two sisters who only exist in the future, her grandmother had reincarnated in her world as well. Thinking about it, she didn’t see the corpses of her grandmother and Xia Baiyu. It seems they are still alive.

The Moon Goddess spent her time telling her grandfather stories about her grandmother. She had photos of her inside her phone. But suddenly giving her grandfather something from the future might cause ripples in the timeline. So she had chosen an ancient way to give him a gift. She decided to give her grandfather a painting of her grandmother. An ancient way of painting using only ink.

Yue Xuexia before sending her grandfather away requested, "Gramps, I would like to have no visitors for three days to completely cure my soul and prepare to return to my timeline."

"Alright. I will prevent others from entering the temple for three days. Xue’er, can you meet the family one last time before leaving?" Yue Zhiyan asked.

Yue Xuexia is hesitant but in the end she still nodded her head. She once again entered deep sleep after seeing her grandfather leave. What she didn’t know was that after her grandfather went out of the door, her family had been waiting for her. They had been listening outside the whole time.

Though they felt that it was a bit unfair that Yue Xuexia is only willing to see and speak with Yue Zhiyan, they didn’t dare to question her. It seems that after the last incident Yue Xuexia no longer wants to communicate with their family. Or maybe she is afraid of Emperor Papa Yue, or something else altogether.

Yue Lili grabbed her father’s sleeves and said, "Dad, I also want to speak with Xue’er."

"Li’er, don’t force it. You can try talking to her alone. But don’t force her, in her eyes we are Yue Xuehua’ family but are hesitant to accept us as her family. She will be leaving soon and Xuehua will wake up. As for meeting her again, let’s leave it for the future. She isn’t someone who is supposed to exist in this era." Yue Zhiyan said. "Also three days from now, I will prevent you guys from visiting her. You can only visit her after three days."

He had placed a restriction on the door that lasted only for three days. This restriction does not allow entrance from the outside, they will be restrained if they force their way in whether it’s intentional or unintentional.

The Ancestor of the Yue Clan despite spending time to speak with Yue Xuexia can still feel the detachment on the Moon Goddess’ words as she had never once told him any stories about herself. Though she accepted him as her grandfather, he had an inkling that she was only treating him as Yue Xuehua’s grandfather but not her, Yue Xuexia’s grandfather.

Maybe such detachment wouldn’t have appeared if Lei Yuya had never questioned her connection to their family. However, he also couldn’t blame Lei Yuya. He is only doing his job as an emperor and it was done to protect the clan. It’s just that he had done it to someone who they could only meet in the far future and this might be the only time they will meet her. After all, at their current timeline, she doesn’t even exist yet.

After the ancestor of the clan had left, the atmosphere within the family was a bit gloomy. This is especially true between the wife and the husband. The Empress had been crying ever since Yue Xuexia had fallen into a deep sleep. They thought they could see her after she was healed but they never once saw her open her eyes much less speak to them. It was for this reason that they had sought the help of Yue Zhiyan.

They were delighted when their father had successfully called out to their daughter and was about to enter the temple only for the door to be tight shut. The only one who could have done that was Yue Zhiyan. They can only give up and listen from the outside, when they heard Yue Xuexia’s voice they felt relief. Then they finally realized that their daughter isn’t incapable of waking up, it’s just that she is not willing to meet them.

The Everlasting Empress with tears in her eyes glanced at her husband but left wordless. Her back feels so lonely that the Everlasting Emperor feels even guilter. But what is done cannot be changed. Lei Yuye didn’t speak a word of comfort as he also didn’t know what to say to his younger brother. He can only pat his back in support and leave with his nephews.

Left behind, Lei Yuya looked at the sealed door of the temple and spoke from the outside.

"Xue’er, it’s daddy. Daddy will not force you to see me. But can you at least talk to your mommy, she misses you a lot."

After waiting for a while, Lei Yuya still didn’t get a response from his daughter and was about to leave when suddenly a soft yet cold voice echoed near his ears.

Lei Yuya turned his head to look at the door but this door remained sealed. The voice they had heard is most likely a divine message from his daughter sent directly to him. After getting her message, the Everlasting Emperor left to find his wife to inform her about such good news.

Meanwhile inside the temple, Yue Xuexia started gathering things from her inventory thinking which of the things she can leave behind after she left. She can only feel the connection from her real timeline and it won’t take long for her to wake up in reality. This world she is in right now is also another reality, though it’s a past timeline, it is still connected to her, or to Yue Xuehua who had now become a part of her past.

Since Yue Xuehua had merged with her completely, this timeline had become a part of her past life. Even though she still felt a bit awkward towards them, she still treated them as her family. Everything that Yue Xuehua owns had become hers the moment they had merged. She prepared to leave a gift for her (young Xuehua) and her family. Three days later, the whole family had returned to the temple. They were a bit hesitant to enter the place until they were called in by the one inside, which is Yue Xuexia.

"Please enter inside," said Yue Xuexia.

When the group entered inside they saw Yue Xuexia in her adult form wearing pure white ancient empress robes with red snowflakes. Her hair is long and white. She didn’t smile and remained expressionless unlike before. Since what we see is simply her solidified soul, the traces of immaturity and innocence like when she is in Yue Xuehua’s body is long gone. Everyone was dumbfounded, this is the first time they are clearly seeing an adult version of their daughter, niece, sister and granddaughter.

"Yue Xuexia greets grandfather, father, mother, uncle and brothers. Nice meeting you."

Yue Lili upon seeing her this way made her realize that she had fully healed and can no longer stay in their timeline. Yue Zhiyan, who already knew about this, just nodded at his granddaughter. He is relieved that whatever happened before hasn’t completely affected her soul and it was healed back to normal.

The Everlasting Moon Empress went to hug her and said, "Xue’er, Mama will miss you so much."

"Don’t worry we will meet again in the future. Xiao Hua is also me. Whatever choice she makes in the future. I hope you don’t get angry and keep supporting her. Warn her not to easily fall for men with good looks. Most men of such are bastards."

Empress Mama Yue chuckled and said, "Alright. I will watch out for men who will approach her, or she will see in the future."

Yue Xuexia looked at her brothers whom she didn’t have a time to bond with. She smiled and hugged them.

"We don’t have much time to spend. But in the future, I won’t be your only younger sister, there will be two more. Look after them for me alright?" Yue Xuexia whispered.

Yue Leiya and Yue Wuya gave her a promise to love and protect their sisters now and in the future. Lei Yuye also appeared and she greeted him with a smile.

She said, "Uncle, I hope the next time we meet you give me an aunt, even an uncle is alright."

"Little girl, are you indirectly telling your uncle I still don’t have a dao companion on your timeline!?" Lei Yuye asked in disbelief.

The Moon Goddess gave him a smile which made him question his reality that he started mumbling and questioning himself if he is that unpopular that he didn’t have a lover even when his own niece had grown into an adult.

Then Yue Xuexia finally looked at the Everlasting Moon Emperor. The atmosphere between the two feels the most awkward and the silence was broken as Yue Xuexia suddenly hugged him. This hug caught Lei Yuya in surprise and his eyes turned red as he finally hugged back his daughter.

Lei Yuye said, "Xue’er, Papa is sorry." His tears fell but it was hidden as his tears fell on his daughter’s shoulders.

Yue Xuexia whispered that it was alright and that she didn’t mind.

After saying a few words and giving her grandfather a hug she finally said,

"It’s time for me to leave."
