Signing-In: The Lazy Moon Goddess-Chapter 586: Any Request?

The first meeting between the Sun God and the Moon Goddess ends up with the former’s sword attack being cancelled by the latter’s counterattack. It was done with enough force and sword intent that the Sun God’s sword slash perished. This brand new version of the Moon Goddess caught him surprised.

Just the fact that the Goddess of the Moon isn’t looking at him with worshipping eyes made him feel relaxed. But upon seeing the indifference and coldness in her gaze, made him uncomfortable for some reason he couldn’t explain.

The Moon Goddess spoke, "Sun God, the owner of this hall, correct?"

"Right. Why are you competing for this hall’s domination?" The Sun God asked. "Do you want to conquer this emperor’s hall?"

"No. I have no intention to conquer. However, the ones who entered the hall did not possess the ability to stay alive under the raw sun in your hall. Aside from a few who might be able to survive, the rest will die. Though I don’t care much about them, I do not want the people under me to suffer."

Stunned. The Sun God asked, "You do not care?"

"My protection is only for those under my wing. The others must survive on their own," retorted the Moon Goddess calmly. "It’s not like I’m going to forbid them to stay the night or so. However, the life of the strangers is not for me to guard for."

"Hmm~ this is reasonable. So what do you wish to do?" asked the God of Sun.

The Moon Goddess responded to his query, "Give some time of the day to keep the night open so they can survive at least. You do not need to give me a long period. A quarter a day and a part of the hall to allow night to appear should be sufficient."

"Allowed. You can do as you wish! I will give you eight hours a day. All trial takers must stay in the hall for a week before the next portal that connects to the next hall opens," the Sun God said.

Yue Xuexia sighed in relief as she got the permission without a fight. She clasped her hands in gesture and showed her gratitude for the Sun God’s leniency.

"Thank you, God of Sun," said the Moon Goddess.

The Sun God was once again started by this goddess reaction and stared at her with an indescribable expression on his face. This strange yet refreshing Moon Goddess made him unable to move his gaze away.

"As the payment for the permission I gave you, telling me your name will suffice," the Sun God said.

The Moon Goddess didn’t know and said, "I am surnamed Yue and my given name is Xuexia."

"Yue Xuexia. Xuexia. Xue’er? I see I understand," mumbles the God of Sun.

Yue Xuexia clasped her hands before him and expanded her domain. She only expanded to the small, middle lava pool and a third of the largest lava pool. Seeing such accuracy and control over the domain of the moon, the Sun God was once again stunned. The Moon Empress she knows is a clumsy woman without any ounce of elegance before him. She would always sneak a peek at him at any moment of time.

However, this Moon Goddess didn’t even register him in her eyes after their conversation. She does whatever she wants even though Shen Jueyang has to give her a way. He watches as the full moon illuminates the evening in his hall and the Moon Goddess grabs that manmade dual elemental phoenix cub which he threw somewhere at the lower lava pools.

Xue Renxue said, "Mistress please let me walk on my own!" He pleads.

The Moon Goddess heard him and let go of his back collar falling on the ground head first.

"What are you doing? Follow closely!" Yue Xuexia said.

They walked above the largest lava pool’s surface and found the boundary of light and day.

Yue Xuexia turned her head to look at Xue Renxue and said, "Remove your upper robe and meditate. Half of your body must be exposed to the sun and the other half to the moon."

"M-Mistress, I will turn into a half charcoal man," said Xue Renxue as tried to back away only to have the back of his knees kicked and fell on his knees with half of body exposed in the day.

He screamed as if to synchronize the pain in his imagination but he felt nothing. Xue Renxue was surprised that half of his body was exposed under the sun without turning to ashes as he thought. Well there is heat alright but it was just hot not terrifyingly hot. The Moon Goddess kicked his butt without hesitation.

Yue Xuexia said, "What are you afraid of? You didn’t turn into a boiled phoenix after being thrown into a lava pool. Why the hell are you afraid of the sun?! SIt properly!"

"YES!"

Xue Renxue sat in the lotus form and started meditating. Behind him, Yue Xuexia had closed her divine fan and replaced it with a few golden dragon acupuncture needles.

She said, "I’m widening your meridians for the second time. This time attempt to absorb both the sun and moon energy. The sun’s energy will act as your fire element and the moon’s energy as your ice element. Remember! Find the balance! Stabilized!"

The golden dragon acupuncture needles flew from Yue Xuexia’s finger like a mini dragon and landed on the main meridian points on Xue Renxue’s back. A powerful absorption came from Xue Renxue. He was trying to find the balance but it was too hard. Half of the body had red skin with signs of flames, the other half was pale white with signs of frost.

The Moon Goddess frowned when she saw the signs of Qi deviation coming from Xue Renxue and made her move. She flips herself and waves her hand with a divine fan, she lightly hits the center of Xue Renxue’s body. All qi and energy dispersed and Xue Renxue’s head was hit by her fan.

"Control. It can be slow but it must be stable. Do it little by little and once you control it, increase it slowly. Again!" Yue Xuexia commanded.

The strict voice of the Moon Goddess not only made Xue Renxue nervous but even the other three men who were watching them. Seeing that Xue Renxue is slowly gaining control over the two energies, she looked at Tan Shenyu who suddenly stopped controlling the sun energy in his body and was about to explode.

With a slight movement of her fingers an acupuncture needle controlled the energy that was about to explode.

Yue Xuexia said, "Uncle Tan, if you don’t want to explode, control the sun’s energy in your body properly. Your body is inflating."

Tan Shenyu woke up from his state and looked at his fingers, which are now as chubby as a corndog and immediately meditated to control the sun’s energy in his body.

Yue Xuexia upon seeing the two stabilized walk back to the shore and said to Shen Jueyang, "I’m going to cook. Jueyang, watch after them until Sister Bingyu returns."

"Can I request a boiled fish head soup?" Shen Jueyang said with a smile.

Yue Xuexia glanced at him expressionlessly and said while walking away. "I will make you some in exchange for looking after my people."

The Moon Goddess was about to leave when suddenly she halted and turned around to look at the Sun God.

Yue Xuexia said, "I presume you can eat like the Nature Goddess. As thanks for listening to my request you can only ask me to cook one dish as well."

"Squirrel Mandarin Fish," answered the Sun God after a short silence of hesitation.

The Moon Goddess only nods her head and walks away. She didn’t spare an extra glance on the two powerful and handsome men. She was completely indifferent and even more emotionless. Seeing that she had left completely and their disciple had listened more seriously to the Moon Goddess’s words, the Sun God descended and stood beside Shen Jueyang. Seeing that they looked similar from face to build, hair to eyes. The two were a bit uncomfortable. The Sun God can only hide half of his face with a golden mask.

"She is indeed different. She treats you and I like air," said the Sun God.

Shen Jueyang said, "At least she calls my name."

The Sun God was speechless, "..."

He asked, "How come I can feel the old Moon Empress in her?"

"Do you know why Xing Xieju killed us?" The Sun God asked.

The moment he does, the atmosphere around Shen Jueyang had turned cold and tense.
