It was around 9 pm when the young couple snuggled on the couch, the large TV playing some global news.

The couple weren’t exactly listening to what was transpiring on the screen but chatting as Gael fiddled with her hands, especially the ring he put on her on that fateful day of May.

"Babe!"

"Um," she hummed in response without looking at him, as her eyes were fixated on the screen, though she wasn’t really sure about what she was seeing.

"Should we change the ring?" Gael suddenly asked and that piqued her curiosity.

She threw her head back so that she was looking at him and asked puzzlingly, "Why should we change it? Is it not nice?"

She really likes her ring. Ever since she has gotten it, there wasn’t a day she hasn’t gone without wearing it.

However, Gael’s thoughts were very different.

He knows that Diamond loves rings. In fact, she has rings she always wear every single day which were of great importance. As far as his mind goes, he could tell that the one on her thumb, the jade ring, was a family signet ring.

She was the matriarch, an undisputed fact that he couldn’t even argue against. The other ring, he wasn’t sure what it was, but from the earlier pictures, he has seen on it on her. Since the ring has always been on her, then it matters.

If he knew that the ring was a storage ring and a world of its own, he would surely be shocked and his knowledge of the world questioned.

The other ring, was the ring shield but now it wasn’t there on her fingers. After the inclusion of shields on the family ring, Diamond was left with just two rings, the family ring and the storage ring, not including the ring Gael gave her or the ones she likes wearing now and then.

Gael, looking at the rings she always wears daily, he felt that his ring was too simple and mediocre, thus for a while now, he thought of changing it, and even saved money towards it.

In the future, when he proposes, he will get her a nice new ring. Anyway, there wasn’t much that he could do, so he might as well deliver in such cases.

"I just think that this ring looks simple. Let’s just consider it as a promise ring and the next pair of rings I buy will be a couple ring. What do you think?"

Seeing him so serious and not understanding what drove him to that kind of thinking, Diamond didn’t want to dash her boyfriend’s hopes or decline his affection for her.

However, she also didn’t want him to do things spontaneously and impulsively when he has a business to start in a few months.

"I insist!" he firmly said as he brought her hand to his lips and gave it a kiss.

Seeing him so serious, Diamond couldn’t say no again and resignedly acquiesced.

"Fine, lets do that. When are we getting it?"

"Tomorrow. Let’s go there after breakfast. I will show you around as well, and we can have an outside date. The weather is just perfect."

"If you want, you can broadcast the whole thing. Let your fans see how much this boyfriend loves you," he added, slightly excited at the thought of appearing on the screen with her.

He has his own selfish reasons for that. while it felt weird to have his date broadcasted, but the thought of letting those with ulterior motives for her seeing her with her boyfriend, he felt immense joy and eagerness.

Whilst he couldn’t stop Diamond from pursuing her dreams, his appearance might deter some of those men who were lusting after her.

After all, it wasn’t every man willing to share their woman with others. It was definitely not an ease thing, but who made him fall for her?

He could only endure, but with a warm and affectionate heart.

The things people do for love.

Thinking about how his life was once ordinary and peaceful, until his mother gave him Diamond’s details. He couldn’t help but lowered his face towards her and she smiled at him, fully knowing what he was up to.

A smile tugged on his lips as he hovered over her face for a while, their gazes locked onto each other before he confessed, "thank you for loving me!" sincerity oozing from his tone, and meaning every single word.

After that betrayal and heartbreak, he shut his heart down and focused on working, numbing his fragile heart. He worried his parents, and family because of that person. Inwardly, he even vowed that this love games were dangerous and he couldn’t afford to be involved in them again.

So, he put all his focus on work. He coded, programmed and just focused on earning more money without any stop. He didn’t know how much that worried his family.

Perhaps, afraid that he might really be adamant at living alone, and not dare to enter a relationship, his mother took the matters in her own hands.

Recalling the bold words, she told him about why she thought Diamond was the perfect match for him, he lowered his head further and planted an affectionate kiss on her forehead.

Diamond was stubborn, straightforward and very bold. She was the tryp of woman who wouldn’t hurt you without you seeing it coming.

His mother simply believed that as long as he dates Diamond, breaking up wouldn’t be that easy unless he does something that breaks Diamond’s heart.

Since he would be entering a relationship knowing what was coming, would anyone call Diamond cheating when found with someone else?

Perhaps, it was a direct and open way of doing so, but he wasn’t naïve and stupid. People’s preferences were very spread and he embraces everyone. So why not let her do her thing?

Besides, she wasn’t forcing anyone into the matter. If he doesn’t like it, he can just quit and move on. But for now, he wanted to be with her. His world lights up with her in it. The thought of not being with her makes his heart ache. He couldn’t do without her for now.

As for the future, he will deal with whatever comes when it comes. For now, he was going to enjoy the moment and live without regret.

Who knows? What if it goes perfectly well without any hitches?

Diamond, smiled at his earnest confession and pulled him down in a swift move. Their lips pressed against each other, and the lovers who haven’t seen each other in months, were quite antsy.

Lips pried open, tongues intertwined, and moans sounded in the room as they shared another passionate kiss without any sharing of words, but their hearts beat with the same rhythm, and, aligned.

The two shared a kiss for several minutes before reluctantly pulling away.

"I love you too," and this time, Diamond really meant it.

It was one of the few times that she has actually spoke the ’love’ word. Unless she was certain, Diamond didn’t like uttering nonsense. She might like someone but to call it love, that will be an understatement. However, the issue with Wyatt made her realize a lot of things.

One, she should be cherishing what she has and not take it for granted. What if she wakes up too late and find everything gone? How heartbroken will she be?

Two, a person’s patience usually runs thin. From the moment Gael realized his feelings for her, he has always been bold and confessed repeatedly. She could feel his love for her. At least, at the moment, Gael really loves her. If he doesn’t get reciprocation, what if he starts thinking that she was using him and didn’t love him?

If he breaks up with her because of those misunderstandings, what will she do?

Mending something broken won’t make it whole again. the cracks will always be there and so will be the doubts.

When she remembered how after getting Wyatt’s astonishing confession, she first thought of going to Gael. She finally noticed the special place that the young man has in her heart.

There were many places that she could go and yet she picked him. Didn’t that show something?

Perhaps, without her knowing, she silently fell for Gael and here it is.

She could boldly confess to him without feeling awkward or guilty. And the young man was thrilled.
