Side Job: SSS-Class Necromancer!-Chapter 59: [Within the Orphanage!]
The moonless sky twinkled with as many stars as the eyes could see. A breathtaking view that would trickle down your heart, making you fill all smiles was what greeted Noah as walked down the alleys wearing the black assassin dress masking his already low presence even more.
In his mind, he made a note to take a break after this and collect the kids to enjoy the view of the sky later. It would be one of the core memories he was going to make in this world.
And as he walked left before taking a few more rights, there came it.
[Wow!](Elios)
A huge monastery at a distance where white light birds of magic flew all around the top. From the information that Miss Ameliana passed, those birds both healed the orphanage as well as protected it from any intruders.
But for Noah who was part of the temple, an acolyte as well as an assistant professor, the birds would simply take a look at him before continuing their work.
-Whoosh!
Noah ran through the gate, and reached the front garden dodging the guards’ sights that stood at the front.
-Whoosh!
And then the next step he dashed even faster than before...
[Take a left from here.](Elios)
[Right!](Elios)
[Jump up the gap there!](Elios)
And as Elios guided, Noah ran from one point to another, using the complex pathways to reach the center of the area where his first target would be.
[A guard at 2 o’clock!](Elios)
Noah looked at that guard who was walking towards him, and pondered the best course of action that he can take right now.
-Pow!
Though before he could do anything, a kick landed from the window beside, knocking that guard out cold, before his body fell on the ground unconscious.
"Hey, you are Fenrir, right? Funny coincidence... haha..."(Zero)
It was Zero, the same kid that hunted dark mages with him a few days ago. Though right now, he wasn’t Elios but Fenrir.
So... should he prepare for a battle?
"Guess, I will be taking a leave now. I have some important work, you see?"(Zero)
Zero winked before running in the opposite direction before jumping out the window.
Noah observed Zero running away.
It didn’t seem like he had any ill intentions.
Anyways.
The work.
It was to save the children and find out the truth about the area.
Weed out any dark mages in the way.
-Whoosh!
[Left!](Elios)
[Straight!](Elios)
Ignoring Zero who was probably here due to an adventurer’s request, Noah ran once again, this time faster than before.
-BOOOM!
An explosion rang out somewhere within the temple as Noah felt the entire building shaking. Still, he kept on running without any break.
And then as he reached the end of the trail, he finally found himself standing at the center of the monastery, the orphanage or perhaps the temple? It was difficult to find out exactly what this place was. It looked like a mixture of the three.
"The Orphanage is closed for now."
A slightly aged voice came from behind as a man wearing a white priest robe appeared behind Noah.
Saint Oliha.
The head of the Orphanage.
He stood there observing Noah with a keen expression, his eyes questioning a lot of things in front but still seemingly silent as he saw Noah there.
"Are you a part of the adventurer’s group?"(Oliha)
Saint Oliha observed Noah’s change in his posture, a slight confusion surrounding his body, which made Oliha a bit confused. He stroked his white beard lightly while analyzing Noah for a few more minutes before continuing.
"Not that, huh? Then perhaps the Dark Oracle send you to take me down?"(Oliha)
Once again, Noah was confused as he observed Oliha.
Wasn’t Oliha a part of the dark mages? Or was he innocent all along?
"Huh? Not that either? Don’t tell me... you are from the church?!"(Oliha)
This saint Oliha was truly surprised, as he tried to analyze Noah. And once he was done, he was even more surprised than before. He looked at Noah as if an anomaly making him question the reality of things.
"The church sent a dark mage to hunt me down? Pffft~hahahahaha!"(Oliha)
Saint Oliha was... how do you say it... pretty chill guy? He analyzed things and then gave off his answers on his own.
Noah particularly didn’t like being analyzed but overall saying, he didn’t find anything wrong with Oliha right now. Even the mana signatures he was giving were pretty much okay.
Though there were a few strands of darkness surrounding the strands, it was pretty much similar to any other person in the entire city.
Except for the head priest, the Guardian, Lucas and the Saintess, there wasn’t a single person in the entire city that didn’t have the dark mana strands.
"But it seems like they are still hiding it for some reason. Hey, kid. Are you some form of experimental thing? Like something done by the church?"(Oliha)
Saint Oliha seemed to be genuinely curious about Noah, making him wonder if he should answer his casual questions or not.
"Not much of a talkative person, I suppose?"(Oliha)
At the silent treatment of Noah, Saint Oliha smiled a bit before walking past him and reaching the first seat of the hall.
He sat there, getting comfortable a bit, before continuing.
"What were your orders? What did they tell you?"(Oliha)
And then he turned serious all of a sudden. His eyes glowed a bit as he questioned while turning back at Noah, making him shudder a bit.
Even the devil seemed weak compared to the current saint Oliha right now.
"I am here to save the children."(Noah)
Noah finally spoke, breaking the silence as he looked at saint Oliha. As for Saint Oliha, he was confused for a moment before he finally realised what Noah was talking about.
And then as if mocking Noah, he answered with another question.
"You mean those sacrifices?"
