Showbiz Scandal: The Official Announcement of My Ex and Myself-Chapter 321: So My Sister Loves Me This Much
Though the kiss was quite tender, Yu Xia still instinctively shivered a bit.
Then she responded by kissing him back, saying, "It’s alright."
Do you like me? It’s alright?
What kind of answer is that? Xie Qingci laughed and kissed her again, very openly expressing his desire for the right answer, or else it wouldn’t be just a matter of words.
Yu Xia could only bear her embarrassment, quickly nodding and repeating, "I like you, I like you, I like you! I really like you, super duper like you, universe invincibly like you!"
But then Xie Qingci changed his attitude, saying wistfully, "I don’t believe it."
Yu Xia glared at him, "Don’t push your luck with me!"
"How can you possibly like someone without expressing it in some way?" He lowered his head sadly, his fingers stroking the postcard, "I feel like you don’t really like me that much, I can’t feel it."
"......"
Her speechless expression was just like when she watched those melodramatic Thai dramas back in the day, any extra curve on her lips would be disrespecting this little green tea.
Xie Qingci looked up at her, his gaze hinting at words left unsaid.
She stood straight on the bed, lunged over to grab him and kissed him forcefully a dozen times.
"Do you feel it now? Huh? Do you feel it now? I like you so much I could kiss you to death! Do you feel it or not?"
A moment later, Xie Qingci couldn’t suppress his smile as he hugged her waist, and they fell onto the bed, continuing this sticky kissing game.
"Hmm, now I barely feel it. Wow, sister loves me so much, I’m almost suffocated, I’m so moved."
Yu Xia grabbed the quilt and covered him, then scrambled down from him using both her hands and feet.
"Can you have some decency!"
Just as she was about to escape from his hold, he exerted strength, rolled and wrapped her into the quilt, lying right on his chest.
The summer quilt wrapped them in a narrow space, bright light passing through it became weak and soft, like candlelight through fingers at night, giving off a dim flesh-pink glow.
They both breathed heavily, tightly pressed together, Xie Qingci’s arms firmly hugging her, as if trying to embed her into his body.
Yu Xia lay her head on his chest, listening to his rapid heartbeat, feeling a sense of dizziness and ringing in her ears, accompanied by her own racing heart.
In this atmosphere, the two tacitly remained silent. Just hugging like this, even in the stuffy quilt, their hearts told the rapid sprouting and spreading emotions, like the roots of a big tree tightly entwining them together.
After what felt like ages, Xie Qingci suddenly lifted the quilt.
They both took deep breaths, as if having survived a perilous ordeal.
Xie Qingci silently smoothed her long hair, while Yu Xia closed her eyes, unmoving, still lying in his embrace.
At such a quiet moment, a clear "thump" sounded as the box placed by the bed fell to the ground, spilling its contents.
The sound startled them both awake, with Yu Xia sitting up and leaning forward, while Xie Qingci straightforwardly sat holding her on the ground, pulling the empty box toward them.
Yu Xia didn’t need to move, sitting in his embrace and watching him pick up the scattered items and put them into the box, just like little Yu Yue collecting his toys.
He picked up a signed photo, not of Yu Xia, but of himself.
"I remember you insisted I take this, saying I looked particularly good standing like this at sunset. After developing the photo, you used my calligraphy pen to write my name on it."
Yu Xia didn’t speak, he put the photo in the box and continued picking up another item.
"This is the ticket from abroad to my place. You always came and went quietly, never mentioning where you’d come back from, never discussing work stuff with me. I became quite curious about celebrities."
He turned the yellowed corner of the ticket carefully, lightly asking, "Why did you think to keep this ticket?"
Yu Xia touched her finger on it, needing no recollection, simply saying, "Left it casually, put it in the bag without throwing it away, kept it as a memento."
Xie Qingci showed little reaction, picking up a wooden hairpin next. The pin’s head was shaped like a rose, the pin itself showing traces of being polished, with none of the glossy luster of something long used.
"This was bought from a senior sister’s charity sale event when I toured universities. You mentioned many gifts can’t be worn on camera, so I figured you could at least use this privately, it being carved into a rose initially; I wanted them to engrave your name but thought better of it, scared people would think I’m a fanboy. You hardly used it, right?"
She fell silent for a bit: "I can’t pin with my hands, you knew, at home I don’t tie my hair, and going out stylists do my hair, so hardly used it."
"I see," he put it in the box and picked another thing, "What about this? You secretly took my pen."
Yu Xia grew a bit stiff.
"I bought that."
"Since you bought it for me, it’s mine." He insisted, pressing out a bit of the lead from the automatic pencil topped with a rabbit.
"The lead’s sharp, you’ve used it. Show me where you’re using it on." He spoke while looking down for paper-like items.
Yu Xia couldn’t stop him, soon enough he did find something.
It was a postcard again, featuring an island scenery in front, English confession lines penned by him on the back with the calligraphy pen. Below the English, she added three words in pencil.
Xie Qingci.
Neatly written, showing no smudges or breaks.
"You wrote my name." He murmured, his fingertips gently rubbing beside those three words.
Yu Xia snatched the postcard, stuffing it into the box.
"Okay, okay, hurry and pick up the rest!"
He chuckled at her, obediently continued picking up other things, albeit slowly, not minding her glare, continuing to speak of those times gone by.
"This panda headband was brought back when I went out with friends. At the destination, many entrepreneurs promoted via many steps, like QR code scans for a headband. I was impatient but you mentioned not having a band while washing at my place got your hair wet... My apologies, it’s been ages, this panda’s eye fell off."
"You knocked it off," she retorted with a white-eyed glare, sticking the black felt eye back to the panda head, "Stop poking stuff for no reason!"
He lazily raised his hands in surrender: "Alright—"
Yu Xia wouldn’t let him continue, she quickly gathered everything and stuffed it all into the box.
With bits scattered in various sizes, grabbing large ones, the small ones easily missed; Xie Qingci seized two little things amidst all of it.
"What are these?"
Those were two identical mini bald-headed doll keychains, swaying from his fingers.
Clearly, he wasn’t asking about the appearance.
Yu Xia reached to grab them back, but he swiftly dodged, shamelessly remained in her face, leaning close to ask again: "What are these?"
