She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!-Chapter 10: The Princely Heir Is a Woman
Ning Xiaoguai was picked up by Ah Chen. When she first encountered it a while ago, it was covered in sores and seemed on the verge of death. Ever since she brought it back and healed it, it has completely recognized her as its master and is now a good guard dog for the house.
Ning Xiaoguai is very intelligent. A few days ago, someone from another faction tried to relay a message, but was caught by it and had a piece of flesh bitten off its buttocks.
The incident happened too quickly, causing a massive shift in the mood of the people inside the house.
Li Bianxing was completely stunned on the spot, not understanding how things turned out this way. He stared dumbfounded at Ah Chen, who patted the large wolfhound, and saw her already walking in this direction, causing his body to uncontrollably tremble.
It’s not excitement this time, but fear.
Ning Yuwan had already been helped up by Qing Zhu, all restraints removed from her body.
"Ah Zhen, Ah Zhen, you came just in time," Ning Yuwan cried, her eyes red, "If you hadn’t come, who knows what might have happened." She cast a fearful glance at the masked man, feeling only relief.
Compared to how their father uses his daughters purely as tools, this younger brother was actually pretty good to them. Ning Yuwan had never thought that one day he would change her fate.
"It’s all over, Seventh Sister." Ah Chen patted her arm, "Everything is in the past; nothing like this will happen again."
Recently, she had been cultivating her own team. Once they were trained, she would position them around her seven sisters to protect them from any unexpected incidents.
So, nothing similar will happen again.
Ning Yuwan felt much calmer in her heart, recalling that Li Bianxing was still bound.
She subconsciously overlooked the fact that Ah Chen’s people were not attending to Li Bianxing, privately thinking that Ah Chen was just too worried about her and had overlooked him.
Seeing her going to untie Li Bianxing, Ah Chen did not stop her. Her gaze fell on the masked man: "Remove the mask from that mountain bandit. I want to see exactly what kind of bandit dares to cause trouble within the Capital City."
The masked man was unwilling, but he couldn’t escape, and was roughly unmasked by Ying Fang.
He buried his head forcefully, and Ying Fang grabbed his chin, forcing him to raise his head. Ying Fang was extremely disgusted by this old thing, using enough force to make him grimace in pain.
Ning Yuwan, who was helping to untie Li Bianxing, instinctively looked over. Li Bianxing wanted to stop it, but since he hadn’t been untied and his mouth was blocked, he could only stare wide-eyed awaiting judgment.
"This face seems a bit familiar?" Ah Chen said, taking a couple of steps closer, leaning forward slightly. She showed thoughtful expression between her brows, "The more I look, the more familiar it becomes. Have any of you seen it before?"
Ning Yuwan had already recognized the face, her body going rigid, with the blood in her veins seemingly frozen, as her mind exploded.
How could it be him?
Pondering the situation, Ning Yuwan’s face turned pale as she staggered two steps backward, immediately vomiting.
Qing Zhu supported her carefully. The Princely Heir said that although the truth is cruel, things are indeed so, and the Seventh Lady must accept it, or she won’t be able to start anew. Once she gets over this hurdle, good days await her.
Her Princely Heir had the skill to make it happen.
"Mr. Li," Ah Chen suddenly called, making Li Junzhang nearly faint from fright.
He was in incredible pain, hoping he could black out, but he didn’t.
"No, how could you possibly be Mr. Li? Mr. Li is the Minister of the Ministry of Imperial Stables, Secondary Third Grade. You probably just look like him; you can’t be Mr. Li." Ah Chen gave an explanation, leaving Li Junzhang pondering her words. Her gaze fell on Li Bianxing’s side, she called out, "Seventh brother-in-law, come look, this bandit looks like your father!"
"This is really strange; they look exactly the same."
"He’s good at looking like that."
"Oh, I forgot, your mouth is still blocked." Ah Chen apologized, telling the people beside her, "Hurry and untie the seventh brother-in-law."
Li Bianxing finally regained his ability to move and speak but didn’t know if he should move or speak first.
"Seventh brother-in-law, this shouldn’t be your father Mr. Li Junzhang, is it?" Ah Chen asked, "I don’t think it is, how could it be, if it were, the problem would be huge."
Li Bianxing’s legs trembled, his mind racing.
The room was very quiet, with Li Bianxing still pondering.
When he finally looked at Li Junzhang once again, he discovered the other’s mouth had been blocked. Who did that? It could only have been Ning Zhen’s people.
Ah Chen kindly explained, "To prevent him from speaking nonsense, we first gagged him. After all, this bandit looks like your father; if the Minister of the Ministry of Imperial Stables were defamed it would be unfortunate. Seventh brother-in-law, don’t you agree?"
Li Bianxing’s gaze hardened, and Li Junzhang, who’d been observing him, was shocked. Was this kid going to....commit patricide?
Rebellious son, how dare he!
Li Bianxing gritted his teeth; he had no choice left. He couldn’t believe Ning Zhen didn’t know who this person was.
By asking like that, wasn’t Ning Zhen essentially letting him choose? Choose between his father or the reputation of the entire Li Family. Once this incident gets exposed, not only would the Li Family’s reputation be thoroughly ruined, his father pretending to be a bandit in the Capital City would be something the Emperor would surely investigate. Under the Emperor’s watch, someone dared to impersonate a bandit, is he tired of living? By then, reputation gone, if the Emperor disliked them, it’s possible the whole Li Family would perish. Even if not dead, the Li Family would have no future.
Thus, the father could only die of an illness.
Li Bianxing picked up the dagger on the ground, subconsciously overlooking who had thrown it there. Li Junzhang exhibited pure rejection and disbelief all over his face. Even while struggling madly, the dagger still punctured his heart.
"This bandit is indeed hateful, being so rampant under the Emperor’s sight, and almost defiling my wife," Li Bianxing gritted out, "I must thank the Princely Heir for his help."
The grievance of killing his father, one day, it will be avenged.
He would be unworthy as a son if he didn’t kill Ning Zhen.
"Madam, are you alright? This person isn’t father, just someone who looks similar." Li Bianxing went over, intending to support Ning Yuwan, who quickly dodged away.
Could she not recognize whether that person on the ground was Li Junzhang?
Li Bianxing was truly ruthless!
"Seventh brother-in-law, why did you kill him?" Ah Chen lightly frowned, "We haven’t even seen the Minister of the Ministry of Imperial Stables yet, what if he really was? Then you’ve killed your own father with your own hands?"
Li Bianxing uncontrollably shook, his pupils contracting sharply. Wha...what does that mean?
Didn’t denying the father’s identity and then killing him mean that today’s matter would be over?
Ah Chen slightly pursed her lips, wondering what the previous seventh brother-in-law was thinking.
Naive.
She paid no mind to the completely dumbfounded Li Bianxing and walked over to Ning Yuwan.
Li Bianxing wore a crazed expression, holding the dagger as he lunged at Ah Chen’s back. If Ning Zhen wouldn’t let him go, then he might as well die!
"Ah Zhen, watch out," Ning Yuwan shouted.
"Awoo—" The big wolfdog Ning Xiaoguai acted swiftly, lunging forward and delivering a dog paw to Li Bianxing, then biting his arm. Li Bianxing screamed in pain, cold sweat streaming down his pale face.
"Seventh Sister, do you wish to handle this openly or privately?" Ah Chen asked Ning Yuwan without turning her head.
If handled openly, exposing the actions of the Li Family father and son would mean the end of the Li Family.
If handled privately, the Li Family would still be finished, but the matter would remain unknown to outsiders.
How it would be dealt with depended on Ning Yuwan’s capacity to bear.
