She Has Three Little Treasures: Fake Heiress, Yet Captures The Tycoon's Heart-Chapter 1027: How Could We Give Birth to an Idiot!
Jasper Hawthorne shared a warm morning with the old lady, accompanying her for breakfast and a stroll in the small garden, before escorting her back to her bedroom. He then hurriedly approached Raina North.
"Sis, Sis, there’s one more thing, some bad news. When you hear it, you must stay strong."
Even though he had decided to reveal the truth and ask Raina for help, Jasper found it incredibly difficult to speak when it came down to it.
Yet, despite the difficulty, Jasper wasn’t going to continue hiding it. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Many things cannot be fixed by concealment alone.
Jasper took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and said, "Sis, the three kids are missing. They’ve been kidnapped by Susan Kensington."
Once he started, the rest of the story didn’t seem as hard to tell, and he quickly explained the entire situation.
Jasper’s head drooped low, his face filled with guilt and self-reproach, "Sis, I’m sorry, I’m too incompetent; I couldn’t even take care of the three kids."
Raina didn’t speak.
For a moment, the room fell into silence, even the sound of breathing became distinctly audible.
Jasper dared not lift his head, the guilt and self-reproach nearly overwhelmed him.
If he could, he would have preferred being kidnapped, wished he was the one facing drug injection.
Jasper hung his head even lower, "Sis, please say something. If you’re unhappy, just hit me. When you stay silent like this... I’m panicking."
"You think I won’t hit you?" Raina raised her hand and slapped Jasper’s head, still unsatisfied, she grabbed his ear and tugged fiercely, shouting angrily, "Jasper, are you a pig? Falling for such simple tricks?"
Jasper was stunned by this scolding, it wasn’t what he had imagined, he called out dumbly, "Sis..."
"Don’t call me sis; I don’t have a foolish brother like you."
Seeing Jasper staring with big eyes like a deserted puppy, Raina’s anger still didn’t fade, she poked hard at his forehead, "Look at you, acting smart but being so stupid! Fine, if you’re dumb, but thinking those three little fellows are the same? Honestly, they carry the genes of me and your brother, would they be dimwits?"
When Jasper didn’t respond, Raina raised her voice to scold, "Speak up!"
Jasper jolted and replied instinctively, "No."
"Then why on earth would you be stupid enough to think Susan Kensington kidnapped those three little rascals?"
Jasper’s brain went blank, after a long pause he grasped the meaning in Raina’s words, "Sis, are you saying Susan didn’t kidnap the kids? But that can’t be right."
Jasper shook his head in denial the next second, "But the kids really disappeared, and I’ve seen photos, those photos were definitely them."
If he hadn’t verified repeatedly, how could he have been manipulated by Susan?
"Fake."
"What?"
Raina said, "The three children Susan showed you are fake, mere stand-ins she found."
Saying this, she unhesitatingly took out her phone, dialing a video call.
The video quickly connected, showing Casper North’s face, holding a handful of cards, "Mommy, aren’t you busy smacking the trash? How come you have the time to call now?"
Especially when he was about to win the game, this call pushed back the timing of victory, the chance to earn some pocket money would have to wait.
It truly was one misstep leading to another.
However, he dared not voice these complaints, mostly for fear of getting beaten.
