She Belongs To The Devil-Chapter 756: Clash of Celestials
"I’m sure that you saw and heard everything?" the Goddess asked her husband as soon as she found him leisurely lying down on the fluffiest cloud above his garden.
"Would you leave me alone if I said no?" God asked in a monotone.
The Goddess closed her eyes and kept on holding her breath. She was already on edge after she talked with Michael. And when her husband was also speaking to her in the same manner, she feared that the anger that was boiling inside of her would manifest into something dangerous.
After taking her time to calm herself down, she finally spoke, "Please, talk out your differences with Michael before things take a bad turn. I’m tired of you two being distant from each other and making things more difficult than it actually is."
God floated down to the garden and stood in front of his wife. And he asked with all seriousness, "You tried talking to him just now, didn’t you? Did it work?"
"It didn’t work because Michael has grievances towards you, not me!" She tried to emphasize. "So why don’t you try to do what is necessary?"
God sighed and walked towards the bench in the garden. He sat down and replied, "I am not doing anything because I already know that he won’t listen to me or stop doing things that he’s been doing recently."
"Then reprimand him for his actions." The Goddess went and stood in front of the bench and she continued to remind her husband that he needed to solve the issue with Michael sooner than later.
"Don’t let him do whatever he pleases. He’s making a joke out of the Heaven realm. The angels who used to work hard for the betterment of both Heaven and the Earth realm now drown themselves in worldly pleasures. The only ones who are still working hard are Nathaniel and Irene."
"How’s Irene, by the way? You spent quite a lot of time with her, didn’t you?" God asked to steer the conversation away from where it was heading.
But the Goddess wasn’t going to fall for his trick. She took the conversation back to where it was supposed to go.
"Irene tries hard to accomplish her duties towards the Earthlings. But Nathaniel’s work is easier. He is spreading wars and fights and whatnots like wildfire on Earth. It would have perfectly balanced out if the rest of our children also did their duties. But under the supervision of Michael, they all have become lazy."
God looked into his wife’s reprimanding eyes and asked, "What do you want me to do? Treat them like babies when they are older than Earth? Run after them and remind them each day what they are supposed to do?"
"Aren’t you worried about Earth? Or are you planning to create a new one when this one gets destroyed," the Goddess bitterly asked.
God pushed his grey hair away from his forehead and stressed, "I am! I am worried about Earth and all the lives in it. Why wouldn’t I be worried when all the Earthlings are my children? That is why I am putting all my hopes in Ariel. I want to make her the better version of myself. I want her to take charge of everything and help me return everything back to its original glory."
"Mhmm…" the Goddess folded her arms and asked, "You do know that Ariel wants no part in any of your ’grand plan’, right?"
God smiled softly and threw a satire at his wife, "She wants no part in my future plans because someone decided to keep her in the dark." And he said with full confidence, "Once she sees what I have in mind for her, and once she knows what she is capable of, she will want to step up. I’m sure of it."
The Goddess felt something boiling inside of her heart.
The bright atmosphere of Heaven got covered with dark clouds. A few strikes of lightning could be seen in the sky of Heaven.
Even God felt a pinch in his heart when the whole atmosphere changed all of a sudden.
"Why are you doing this?" the Goddess meant to ask why he was trying so hard to control a little girl’s life.
God knew what she was asking but he still answered according to his ease, "I want to weed out all the corrupt angels. They all have done enough. Now I need to replace them with the new generation."
The dark cloud storm that was forming right above them was getting thicker and nearer by the second.
A little bit of anger was reflected in her voice when she further asked, "Aren’t you satisfied after controlling literally everyone’s life? Can’t you leave Ariel be?"
"No. I can’t," he bluntly replied.

God thought of himself to be the man of his word.
So the Goddess tried to remind him of the same.
"And what about the wish that you granted to Adeline? Do you think the three of them would be happy if you force Ariel to be you? And how can you drag Ariel to the Heaven realm when you promised Adeline to leave the three of them on Earth? Are you trying to go back on your words?"
God folded his arms in front of his chest and made up a loophole, "To be fair, Adeline did ask for five wishes in one. And I fulfilled all of her wishes until now. But now, it’s time for me to end that privilege. I cannot keep on fulfilling all five of her wishes till eternity."
The Goddess closed her eyes and laughed. She was using all of her willpower to calm her rage. She couldn’t believe how easily he would change his own rules and his own words to fit his needs.
After a while, she finally stopped laughing in the fit of her rage. She opened her eyes to give a piercing gaze to her husband. Explore stories on empire
And she whispered, "I’m so fed up with you. Don’t try to find me until you solve your differences with all of our children."
"Asherah! Wait–" God held out his hand to grab his wife’s wrist.
However, before he could do that, a blinding light shot up high in the sky at a really high speed.
When God finally opened his eyes, there was no sign of his wife.
