Capítulo 1611: Chapter 524: The Great Migration (Part 4)
However, Su Ming didn’t care at all; instead, he happily said.
“Just arrived yesterday.”
“Alright, I’ll treat you to drinks after the meeting!”
Tiger laughed and said.
“Sure!”
Su Ming readily agreed.
“By the way, how are things going with Lin Chuyu?”
Tiger chuckled and said.
“Uh, nothing much. I’ve been so busy with military affairs lately that I haven’t contacted her in a while.”
Su Ming told Tiger.
“Alright.”
Tiger replied somewhat disappointed.
At this moment, the noisy meeting room suddenly fell silent, and Su Ming and the others turned to look.
Commander Alekde entered from the side door with his hands behind his back, his expression solemn as he walked up to the podium.
Commander Alekde glanced at the seated leaders below, and when his gaze fell on Su Ming, he showed a surprised expression but quickly returned to normal, then solemnly said.
“Everyone is here, let’s start the meeting!”
Click!
The open door promptly closed.
Alekde addressed the crowd in a deep voice.
“This meeting’s main topic is the grand retreat. Our evacuation requires a massive transportation of equipment and personnel, reaching our maximum capacity. The evacuation list is complete, and no one is allowed to violate procedures by adding unrelated personnel. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
“Yes!”
The group responded in chorus.
“Also, during this grand retreat, do not be complacent. Always prepare for the worst! Everyone must be ready for battle; the ships, weapons, and ammunition must be checked…”
Alekde began to detail some precautions.
Su Ming listened quietly to Alekde’s arrangements.
Two hours passed in a flash.
Alekde reminded everyone once again.
“I emphasize once more, this grand retreat must ensure the safety of the Shabask Kingdom; absolutely no issues are allowed on their end.”
“Yes!”
The crowd responded in unison.
Su Ming was a bit surprised, whispering to Tiger.
“Why is Commander Alekde taking such care of the Shabask Kingdom?”
“Lord Long Bai personally finalized the agreement. The Shabask Kingdom not only joined the Federation, but they also provided a significant military fund to the Cosmic Army Headquarters. Accepting benefits means we must act accordingly.”
Tiger explained to Su Ming.
“I see.”
Su Ming nodded.
“Alright, that’s all for the discussion. If there’s no unforeseen change, we’ll begin the retreat the day after tomorrow.”
Alekde told the crowd.
“Yes!”
The officers present all replied with cheerful smiles.
They can finally go home.
“Dismissed!”
Commander Alekde waved his hand, addressing the crowd.
The mass of officers stood up and exited in droves.
“Boss, should we go back to prepare?”
Rhein asked Su Ming.
“You guys go ahead; I’m heading to the Shabask Kingdom. Haven’t seen Shadler in a while.”
Su Ming also missed that kid; he left Cosmic Army Headquarters too hastily last time. Now that they’re relocating, he must visit.
“Alright!”
Rhein and the others nodded in response.
…
A moment later, Su Ming walked out of Cosmic Army Headquarters, heading toward the nearby Star Track Station.
Upon reaching the Star Track Station, the place was incredibly vacant, nearly devoid of any people.
Su Ming boarded a Star Track Train, found a window seat, leaned against the chair back, and watched the familiar scene before him, reminiscing about meeting Lin Chuyu here.
Beep beep~
Accompanied by the notification sound, the train doors closed.
Whish!
The Star Track Train started, speeding forward.
Soon, the train exited Blackthorn Fortress and entered space, with the distant World Eye coming into view.
At this moment, Su Ming saw a spectacular sight: the mechanical ring of the World Eye surrounding the Constant Star, extending mechanical bands from all sides, encasing the entire star into a spherical shape.
Su Ming found this view both novel and surprising, then raised his wrist to send Shadler a message. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Before long, the Star Track Train arrived at the World Eye.
When Su Ming exited the Star Track Station, he saw several black hovercars waiting upfront.
Lum stood right in front of the hovercar.
“Mr. Lum, why are you here?”
Su Ming greeted with a smile.
“Lord Su Ming, Prince Shadler sent me to receive you.”
Lum replied respectfully.
“Alright.”
Su Ming immediately boarded the black hovercar.
More than half an hour later, the black hovercar arrived at Shadler’s private clubhouse gate and stopped.
Su Ming got off the car, greeted by a joyful shout.
“Big brother!”
Su Ming looked up to see Shadler rushing up eagerly to give him a hug.
“How come it feels like you’ve put on some weight in such a short time?”
Su Ming said, smiling at Shadler.
“Really? I’ve been worrying so much I couldn’t sleep; how could I have gained weight?”
Shadler complained with a troubled expression.
“What’s there to worry about? The sky isn’t going to fall; things will get better once we relocate to the Federation.”
“Mm-hmm!”
“By the way, what are you all doing? How come the World Eye has wrapped the Constant Star?”
Su Ming asked curiously.
“Oh, that. We’re activating the gravitational constraint device to tether the Constant Star. Eventually, we’ll migrate with the star, though the project is extremely troublesome, delaying us for quite a while. Otherwise, we’d have left long ago, but fortunately, it’s almost completed.”
