Shadows of the Deep Space-Chapter 1533 - 510: Hidden Motives (Part 5)
Su Ming said to Long Chen.
"Those two guys are really bold, daring to make a move against us within Saint Qiao? Do you know the exact time?"
Long Chen furrowed his brow instantly and said.
"This is unclear, couldn't get it."
"Alright, I got it! I'll have our people prepared for defense. Also, I've been invited to a banquet by the Moke Duo Clan Leader. I should be able to meet him then. Once we reach an agreement and retrieve the pledged resources, we'll set off immediately."
"Good. Oh, and there's good news."
"What good news?"
"The economies of the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country and the Dark Star Empire have collapsed."
Su Ming said to Long Chen.
"Haha, just as expected! Even the Federation is struggling despite its deep foundations, how could they possibly withstand it?"
Long Chen burst into loud laughter.
"Yes, but we need to be even more careful now. Those two guys are likely to become desperate."
Su Ming said with a smile.
"Understood!"
Long Chen nodded in response.

Inside the Holy Sound Conference Room of the Morris Family.
In the middle of the conference room, there was an oval-shaped black table, densely decorated with golden patterns.
On the table were placed seven mechanical chairs carved with intricate designs.
The Clan Leader Mokduo of the Morris Family sat steadily at the main seat.
The Old Clan Chief Tai Falu of the Divine Foundation, the second family, sat in the first position on the left.
The Jyenis Clan Leader of the Hypertint, the third family, sat in the first position on the right.
The Kavofen Clan Leader of the Vox, the fourth family, sat in the second position on the left.
The Defendi Clan Leader of the Clarates, the fifth family, sat in the second position on the right.
The Timdi Clan Leader of the Euret, the sixth family, sat in the third position on the left.
The Odingfa Clan Leader of the Cading Luo, the seventh family, sat in the third position on the right.
The atmosphere in the conference room was extremely heavy. This was when the Defendi Clan Leader said in a deep voice.
"Lately, the people of Heavenly Revelation Divine Country and Dark Star Empire have grown increasingly arrogant, making the whole of Saint Joex a smoky mess. Everyone is lamenting, it's downright excessive."
"If it were just this, it wouldn't be too bad. According to the news I've received, the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country and Dark Star Empire have been frequently mobilizing forces, gathering around the outskirts of the Luoying Star Sea. Although these mobilized troops are supposedly targeting the Federation, it's clear there's more under the surface."
The Jyenis Clan Leader said expressionlessly.
"What do the Dark Star Empire and Heavenly Revelation Divine Country want? Do they really think we're pushovers?"
The Timdi Clan Leader said with a dark face.
"Isn't this intention quite normal? The Federation isn't doing well, so naturally they set their sights on us."
The Tai Falu Clan Leader said expressionlessly.
"So what should we do? Should we just freeze the Federation's assets and hand them over?"
The Odingfa Clan Leader's face changed slightly as he spoke.
"Do you think handing over the Federation's assets will make these two hungry wolves let us off? Their appetite is never satisfied."
The Kavofen Clan Leader mocked.
"Kavofen, I'm aware that you've transferred a large portion of your assets to the Federation, naturally siding with them. But you also need to consider the state of Saint Joex. If we hand over the Federation's assets and then stir up discord between Heavenly Revelation and Dark Star, causing them to fall out, wouldn't we be safe?"
The Odingfa said unkindly.
"Naive."
The Kavofen Clan Leader replied with a cold smile.
"Then you say this won't work and that won't work, are we just going to wait for death? Is Saint Joex really doomed?"
The Odingfa Clan Leader said angrily.
"Enough, stop arguing! Saint Joex won't fall."
Mokduo said slowly.
The Odingfa Clan Leader and Kavofen both stopped their argument upon hearing Mokduo speak.
Then the tightly closed door of the conference room was pushed open, and a middle-aged man with a keen gaze and a slim face entered, dressed in a red Fourth Generation Prosthetic Armor, with a slanted fringe covering one eye.
He walked straight to the side of the Moke Duo Clan Leader and whispered a few words.
"I understand, Mania, you may leave."
Mokduo said calmly.
"Yes!"
Mania dutifully retreated.
Then Mokduo began to speak.
"Let's adjourn today's meeting here. As for the matters concerning Dark Star and Heavenly Revelation Divine Country, you don't need to worry, I'll handle it."
"Alright!"
Everyone stood up and said.
"Tai Falu, Jyenis, you two stay behind."
Mokduo added immediately.
"Hmm."
The two of Tai Falu nodded.
Kavofen and several people glanced at Mokduo and the others, clearly understanding that the three were going to have a small meeting. Though they were somewhat displeased, they didn't say anything and simply turned to leave the conference room.
Now Mokduo placed his hands on the conference table.
Click!
The entire conference room was locked.
Next, the wall behind them cracked open, revealing a staircase leading to a hidden passage.
"Let's go!"
Mokduo said expressionlessly to the Tai Falu pair.
"Hmm!"
The two of Tai Falu nodded.
All three entered the passage, and the wall closed up behind them.
...
Second Level of Saint Joex: Plantation.
The Mokduo trio emerged from an inconspicuous wooden rest cabin, surrounded by lush trees.
This plantation is a property of the Morris Family, designed to simulate the evolution of a natural ecological environment, thus staff intervention is limited. Consequently, staff are rarely seen within the park, only the occasional squirrel darting by.
The Mokduo trio walked with their hands behind their back towards the plantation's depths.
Soon, they arrived at the plantation's depths where there was a clear pond.
At this time, Mokduo touched a special black ring on his hand, the entire ring emitting a faint halo.
