Seven Deadly Sins System-Chapter 250: Ferocious Ant King
Only half a day after the Web Queen intercepted the message sent by the Peacock Tribe's spy back to the Peacock Tribe, a strange visitor arrived in the Fox Tribe.
This visitor was a humanoid creature that was three meters high and had a layer of strong carapace covering its two legs and four arms, while an antenna existed on both sides of his head and a pair of sharp teeth protruded out of its mouth.
Not surprisingly, this person was the Ferocious Ant King, one of the five most famous Level 3 Monsters in the surrounding area, and the King of the Ant Tribe.
Despite his identity though, the Ferocious Ant King didn't actually show up but hid his figure and examined the Fox Tribe below with a serious expression.
Soon, he arrived to a conclusion:
"What the Web Queen said is indeed true!", he couldn't help but think, looking at the strange statues and the worshipping Tailed Foxes with curiosity in his eyes.
"There is indeed a hidden monster that has unknowingly controlled the Fox Tribe...", the Ferocious Ant King analyzed, and the more he thought about it, the more excited he became.
Unlike the Web Queen, when he learned that there was a monster that was able to silently control the Fox Tribe, the Ferocious Ant King didn't feel nervous at all but instead became excited.
Different from the Fox Queen, the Web Queen, the Green Peacock King, and the Purple-Scaled Serpent, who were all members of powerful races, the Ferocious Ant King was one of the few Level 3 Monsters that didn't belong to a powerful race.
In fact, the Ferocious Ant King used to be just an ordinary, mindless ant but was later lucky enough to swallow a precious grass and awaken his spirituality.
Even so, his talent was the worst out of all of the five Kings and because of this, he should have been the weakest.
Yet, in reality, the opposite was true.
The Ferocious Ant King was the strongest of the five Kings, and if it were not for the fact that the other Kings worked together to suppress him, he would have been able to unify this land long ago.
The reason why the Ferocious Ant King was able to possess such strength was quite simple, and because he was constantly fighting.
No matter how strong his enemy was and how risky it would be, the Ferocious Ant King always rushed forward fearlessly regardless of the circumstances, willing to bet his own life just for a slight chance of making some progress.
Even though this was extremely risky and most people would die if they were to act like this, those who managed to survive would surely make rapid progress, evidenced by how strong the Ferocious Ant King was.
Of course, this way of acting also won him many titles, such as "battle maniac", "reckless", and "brainless" by his peers.
"Based on how she likes to plot against others, the Web Queen should want to use me to find the mastermind that caused these changes.", the Ferocious Ant King analyzed but despite realizing that this was a conspiracy, he didn't think about retreating.
Especially when he thought of how strong a monster that was able to silently deal with the Fox Queen would be, his black eyes flashed with excitement and he was unable to suppress his fighting intent any longer.
Still standing in the sky above the Fox Tribe, the Ferocious Ant King no longer hid his figure and chose to show up, urging his aura to spread everywhere around him.
"Boom!"
The appearance of an unknown person was enough to attract the attention of the most powerful Tailed Foxes, while those who were weaker and didn't immediately sense them soon became aware of them as a result of the powerful aura oppressing them.
"Who is it?!"
"Who dares to invade my Fox Tribe? Are they not afraid of the Fox Queen's wrath?!"
The Tailed Foxes couldn't help but think and despite the instinctive fear they felt when faced with the powerful aura of the Ferocious Ant King, they didn't show any panic.
This was partly because most of them had always stayed at the tribe and didn't recognize the Ferocious Ant King and partly because they knew that the Fox Queen was still at the Fox Tribe.
In the minds of the Tailed Foxes, no one could hurt the Fox Tribe as long as the Fox Queen was here.
This was not an opinion, but a belief that was cultivated through decades of experience.
Thinking of this, the Tailed Foxes ignored the aura oppressing them and stared at the black figure in the sky, wanting to see how the Fox Queen would kill it.
On the other hand, although the Ferocious Ant King was faintly aware of their thoughts, he would of course not care about the thoughts of such weaklings.
His purpose when coming here was not to exterminate the Fox Tribe but to find an opponent that could put him in danger and allow him to squeeze out his potential and make progress.
With that in mind, the Ferocious Ant King turned his head toward the palace at the center of the Fox Tribe, where the Fox Queen and the elders of the Fox Tribe lived.
As the final defense of the Fox Tribe and a building responsible for carrying the tribe's hopes, this palace was quite extraordinary, and as such, the Ferocious Ant King was unable to penetrate it with his thoughts and see what was going on inside.
Despite this, he knew very well that whatever he was looking for should be inside.
"Fox Queen, why don't you come out to meet me?", the Ferocious Ant King opened his mouth and spoke, using his power to spread his voice throughout the Fox Tribe.
Hearing his "impudent" and "blasphemous" words that were addressed to their Queen, the Tailed Foxes immediately became furious.
"How dare he talk to the Queen like that?! Is he seeking death?"
"He's dead! He's dead!"
Many angry voices sounded and various curses spread, and judging from their tone, if they were not held back by the Ferocious Ant King's aura and were unable to move, they would have rushed forward and fought him regardless of whether they would die.
Fortunately, before could do anything stupid, an old voice echoed directly in their minds:
"Don't worry everyone! The Fox Queen will take action and kill that invader!"
Surprisingly, the owner of this voice was the Sage, who chose to step forward to calm down the crowd.
His words seemed to work and the voices of the Tailed Foxes soon became lower and lower, until they finally disappeared completely.
This was not only because of the Sage's status but also because the Tailed Foxes trusted in their Queen.
In their opinion, the Fox Queen would surely take action any time now and avenge this humiliation!
But what no one in the Fox Tribe knew was that at this time, the person they trusted the most, Three-Tails, was actually quite nervous.
Sitting in the deepest end of the palace, she stared silently at the Ferocious Ant King, with a solemn expression on her face.
"Why did he come here at this time? Has he discovered my weakness and wants to take advantage of me?", Three-Tails couldn't help but make a guess, but she quickly shook her head.
She might have believed this if the visitor was that treacherous woman, the Web Queen, but she dismissed that idea when she thought of the Ferocious Ant King's character.
"It's impossible for this guy to want to take advantage of me. It should be a coincidence.", Three-Tails tried to convince herself, but no matter what, she had to make a choice.
Should she go out and risk the Ferocious Ant King finding her weakness, or should she stay hiding and hope that he would leave when he found that she was missing?
Many thoughts went through Three-Tails' mind and she weighed the pros and cons, finding it difficult to find the best course of action.
Fortunately, or unfortunately for Three-Tails, she soon didn't have to make a decision at all.
Perhaps because he became impatient since he didn't receive an answer or perhaps because the purpose of the Ferocious Ant King was to fight, after he spoke, he only waited for a few mere seconds before he directly took action.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
A continuous booming sound came out of his carapace-covered body and his aura became even more majestic, as he clenched his four hands, turning them into fists, and punched with all his strength.
Although the Ferocious Ant King didn't use any ability, the strength of his body, coupled with the fact that his four attacks were superposed made the final attack extremely powerful.
The wind around him screamed and the land below his body trembled, as his punch looked ready to land on the palace below.
"Not good!", Three-Tails immediately thought, understanding that it was impossible for her to not show up.
After all, even though the Ferocious Ant King's attack should not cause any damage to the palace, just its aftermath was enough to affect the whole Fox Tribe, bringing boundless destruction.
Realizing this, although the Fox Queen was reluctant, she no longer hesitated and stood up from the floor, her figure flashing out and appearing in the sky above the Fox Tribe.
Then, with a move of her mind, she was engulfed by a golden light, and by the time this light had disappeared, her humanoid figure had been replaced by a small fox.
The fox's appearance revealed its extraordinary nature, while its golden eyes shone with a hint of majesty that only powerful monsters and cultivators possessed.
Unfortunately, Three-Tails didn't have the time to admire her appearance, as the attack of the Ferocious Ant King was still flying toward her.
Seeing this, Three-Tails controlled her three tails to bend and stand in front of her, turning them into a shield made out of golden fur.
Her quick reaction and movements seemed to be the right decision, as the moment after this shield appeared, the Ferocious Ant King's punch landed on it.
"Clang!"
A loud noise spread in the Fox Tribe, and surprisingly, Three-Tails was able to survive the Ferocious Ant King's attack completely unscathed.
In fact, not only did she manage to survive the attack, but her aura became even more powerful, rushing toward the Ferocious Ant King and confronting the aura he consciously exuded.
"Ferocious Ant King! How dare you invade my tribe and attack me?", a cold expression flashed across Three-Tails' face and her eyes shone with boundless murderous intention, showing the extent of her anger.
Feeling that his attack was neutralized and seeing that the person who managed to block his attack was Three-Tails, the Ferocious Ant King couldn't help but feel surprised.
According to the information given to him by the Web Queen, the Fox Queen should have been either gravely injured and focused on recuperating, or completely dead.
Yet, right now, the Fox Queen was standing in front of him without any sign of injury.
"Did the Web Queen lie to me?", the Ferocious Ant King thought, wondering whether his previous guess was incorrect and he had unknowingly fallen into the Web Queen's trap.
Especially when he heard Three-Tails' cold words and noticed the clear murderous intent in her eyes, his doubts increased even further.
Soon, however, he finally noticed something, and his eyes that were looking at the Fox Queen changed.
"No! The Web Queen is right! You've indeed been injured!", the Ferocious Ant King spoke, his voice filled with certainty.
Hearing his words, Three-Tails couldn't help but feel nervous inwardly, but on the surface, her expression remained unchanged.
"I don't know what you're talking about- cough! Cough!"
She shook her head and opened her mouth to speak, but while she was still mid-sentence, her body suddenly began trembling violently and her face became abnormally pale before she coughed out a mouthful of blood.
