Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!-Chapter 880: Nervous Yet Expectant Feelings
Summer Sutton lay by the edge of the bathtub, sound asleep, completely unaware.
In the room, there seemed to be the sound of wheelchair wheels moving, heading in the direction of the bathroom where she was.
Summer Sutton was already asleep, with no awareness at all.
The sound of the wheels continued, but when they reached the doorway, it suddenly stopped.
Summer Sutton had already considered this place as her Morning Garden with Adrian Walyon, not even bothering to close the door properly while bathing.
Through the gap in the open door, everything inside was clearly visible to the person at the doorway.
The man in the wheelchair stared into the room for quite a while, waiting for her to wake up on her own.
Perhaps it was the heavy burden after Adrian Walyon left that tired her out; after falling asleep by the bathtub, there was no sign of her waking.
The steam in the bathroom, once a hazy cloud, had now become transparent.
The mist on the mirror had also disappeared.
The water in the bathtub should have gone cold, yet Summer Sutton showed no sign of waking.
In the late spring, the temperature wasn’t low, but not particularly high either.
The man at the door watched her for over ten minutes, seemingly wrestling internally, before finally pushing his wheelchair slowly towards her.
Picking up a towel from the side, he bent over and lifted the woman from the water.
With the towel wrapped around her, he carried her expressionlessly towards the bedroom.
Summer Sutton had been soaking in the water for so long, sleeping deeply, but somehow, in his arms, she suddenly woke up.
Narrowing her eyes, she glanced at his chest, stunned for a few seconds before feeling a secret joy.
With a sly curve at the corner of her lips, Summer Sutton pretended to turn over in her sleep, shifted slightly, and snuggled into his arms, naturally wrapping her slender arms around his waist.
Nudging her head against him, she held him tightly.
Narrowing her eyes, she furtively observed his reaction from the corner of her eye.
Watt Bennet’s body seemed to stiffen for a moment, his steps slowed.
Summer Sutton’s lips curled into a shallow smile as she fully nestled against him.
Watt Bennet continued carrying her forward, his breath gradually growing heavy, perhaps because Summer Sutton was too heavy to carry for long.
Bringing her to the bed, he placed her down, and Summer Sutton rolled once on the bed, the towel wrapped around her naturally coming undone.
A dim light was on in the room, and under the warm orange glow, nothing could outshine her brilliance.
Her skin, white with a hint of red, almost translucent, resembling peach blossom petals floating on water.
The man’s gaze seemed to linger for a moment.
Though Summer Sutton pretended to sleep with her eyes closed, unable to see his expression, she could still distinctly feel his gaze on her.
Her heart began to race.
What intimate moments had she not shared with Adrian Walyon?
Yet now, just being watched by him made her as nervous as a young girl experiencing first love.
Would he do anything to her?
Besides nervousness, Summer Sutton felt a hint of anticipation.
And a bit of unease.
Her unease came from the thought that if he once again treated her as air, what would she do?
Feeling utterly unattractive to her own man, Summer Sutton felt somewhat defeated.
Her heart pounded as she secretly listened for any sound from him.
