Chapter 150: Chapter 150: From Now On, We Are Together Every Year

Adrian stared silently at the name on the caller ID, his heart slightly fluttering.

The call connected, and Summer Sutton’s voice came from the other end, sounding a bit disordered, "Adrian, I’m at the train station, can you come pick me up?"

It’s been continuous holiday peak season lately, and Summer Sutton has never been on a train for such a long time.

Standing for over ten hours from the start to the end station was exhausting enough, and the train was always so crowded she barely had a place to stand, she was almost squeezed flat.

Once she got off the train, the crowd was even thicker, dragging her suitcase through it was a struggle.

In the barely minute-long time it took her to call Adrian, Summer Sutton had already been bumped into several times.

Adrian was absent for a moment at her words, then casually tossed her a line, "Wait there!"

Holding his phone tightly, he sprinted outside the villa.

Pulling open the car door and jumping in, even though it was already late at night as he drove out, his mood seemed inexplicably good.

Driving to the train station, he spotted the disheveled Summer Sutton in the crowd with one glance, a barely noticeable arc formed at the corner of his lips.

He got out of the car and strode towards her.

The scene was too crowded, even in the dead of night people were packed tight together.

Summer Sutton dragged her suitcase with difficulty heading towards the parking area, getting bumped every short distance she managed to walk.

Adrian quickened his pace, approached her, and, squinting, looked her up and down consideringly.

"Why take the train?" He asked, his face revealing no emotion.

"No more flights left, couldn’t book one." Summer Sutton explained.

Adrian seemed to pause for a moment, the dark pupils of his eyes gently rippling.

"Why not call me?" He asked, his eyes fixated on her.

If she had told him she wanted to come back, he could have arranged a private plane for her!

"Too much trouble." Summer Sutton had been standing for too long, her legs were cramping painfully.

Avoiding his gaze, she kept massaging her sore legs.

Adrian stared at her for a while, a deeper hue settling in his eyes.

Knowing the reasons well, he asked no more questions and took over the suitcase from her, leading the way towards the parking area.

Once they were in the car, arriving back at the villa it was already past midnight.

Summer Sutton was utterly exhausted, but upon realizing it was the holiday, she headed to the kitchen.

"Did you have dinner yet?" She glanced sideways at him and asked.

"Not yet." Adrian replied indifferently.

Summer Sutton seemed to pause, a bit surprised by his response.

"Why not order takeaway? Or eat at home?" She wondered aloud as she turned to the kitchen.

Adrian followed her in, watching her busy herself around.

"Our tradition in River City is, during such festive times, we must eat tangyuan, which symbolizes unity."

Summer Sutton, with her back to him, rummaged through the kitchen cabinets as she chatted, "When Dad and Grandpa were around, every year we’d have plenty prepared at home. After they both passed, no one made them anymore."

In truth, it wasn’t that no one made them, but with family gone, Summer Sutton had no one to celebrate the holidays with.

Adrian listened quietly to her words, upon hearing about her late grandfather and father, he unexpectedly interjected, "From now on, we’ll make them at home every year."

Summer Sutton froze for a moment, lifting her face in surprise at his gaze.

Every year from now on...

Would they be able to spend every year together from now on?
