Secret Buyer-Chapter 78: Cleansing the Household
o’clock noon.
Zhong Yue cautiously entered the ’home’ she hadn’t returned to for a long time.
Her father Zhong Chengshi, stepmother Qin Guihua, and aunt Zhong Chengyu were all present.
"You still know to come back?"
At the sound of Qin Guihua’s shrill voice, Zhong Yue retorted bluntly:
"Weren’t you the ones who asked me to come back?"
"How are you speaking to your elders?" Qin Guihua slapped the table and glared, about to curse, but Zhong Chengshi stopped her:
"Enough!"
This middle-aged man with a face full of flesh said in a deep voice:
"It’s not easy for Yue to come back, don’t quarrel every day!"
Zhong Yue looked at him in astonishment, her father had never been like this before,
why, has he changed his nature?
"Sit down and eat first," Zhong Chengshi said.
Zhong Yue sat down heavily, glanced at the table full of fish and meat, and just picked up the chopsticks when she heard Qin Guihua say in a shrill voice:
"We called you back today for two things."
She ignored her, picked up a piece of fish for herself, and buried her head in eating.
Qin Guihua restrained her anger, speaking in a piercing tone:
"Your brother is starting middle school in Dragon Boat City in September..."
Zhong Yue raised her head, speaking coldly:
"First, I don’t have a brother. Second, why should I care?"
"How are you speaking to your Aunt Qin?" Zhong Chengshi slapped the table hard.
Beside him, Zhong Chengyu put down her chopsticks and said slowly:
"Enough, I’m tired of watching your family go around in circles. Let’s get straight to it; how are we going to divide that house in Dragon Boat City?"
Zhong Yue was taken aback:
"House? What house?"
Zhong Chengyu laughed coldly, saying:
"The house the old man left behind. We put in a lot of effort to get to Dragon Boat City, and the old man actually set up an electronic will, naming you as the heir!"
Zhong Yue widened her eyes, pointing at herself:
"Me??"
She was momentarily bewildered, then immediately questioned:
"Did you all know there was a house in Dragon Boat City long ago??"
"Of course," replied Qin Guihua sharply, "Now your brother is going to study in Dragon Boat City, give the house to your brother."
"And I should get a share too!" Zhong Chengyu slapped the table.
Zhong Yue said nothing, just felt her head buzzing, filled with heat.
She stared blankly at the bickering stepmother and aunt, lips quivering slightly:
"Then why wasn’t the house sold earlier to pay for Grandpa’s treatment?"
The two arguing were surprised, looking at Zhong Yue as if she were an idiot.
Zhong Yue seemed unaware, clutching her fist tightly, her nails digging into her flesh, drawing blood:
"You all said this house couldn’t be sold; without it, we’d be homeless and deemed vagabonds..."
"So why wasn’t the house in Dragon Boat City sold?"
She trembled slightly, knowing the ’grandfather’ who came back wasn’t truly her grandfather,
but some terrifying creature wearing her grandfather’s face.
Grandfather is still dead.
Zhong Chengshi coughed, forcing a smile:
"Yue, your grandfather himself didn’t intend to sell the house to treat his illness, so why would we interfere with his decision?"
"Be good, tomorrow you and Dad will go to Dragon Boat City, transferring the house to your brother....."
Zhong Yue said nothing, stood up, and was about to leave.
"Have I lost face with you?!"
Zhong Chengshi suddenly erupted in anger, patience spent, grabbed Zhong Yue’s hair and yanked hard!
Zhong Yue cried out in pain, her scalp bleeding. Though guided by that mysterious creature, she had only begun learning the Contemplation Technique,
but a Martial Artist she was not yet—she was still just an ordinary person.
"Little brat!" Qin Guihua cursed as Zhong Chengshi punched and kicked, "Why wait for tomorrow, go to Dragon Boat City this afternoon, and transfer the house first!"
"I’d say this brat shouldn’t even go to Jiang University, waste of money, just marry her off for a bigger dowry..."
Zhong Yue broke free from the middle-aged man’s grip like a vice, rushing toward the door, ready to escape.
’Knock knock knock!’
The sound of knocking emerged.
Zhong Chengshi bounded forward, grabbing Zhong Yue’s hair, cursing:
"Who is it? Why knock? Get lost..."
Before he finished speaking, the door opened by itself.
With tears in her eyes, Zhong Yue instinctively looked, stunned. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Zhong Chengshi, about to curse, was also stunned.
The old man walked into the room slowly.
’Crash!’
The bowl Qin Guihua was holding fell to the ground and shattered, Zhong Chengshi released his grip on his daughter’s hair in fear, retreating to the wall.
"Old... dad?" he murmured, terrified.
The old man remained silent, gently touching Zhong Yue’s cheek, checking the wound on her head, and said calmly:
"In a few days, someone will probably come looking for you, whether from Jiangzhou’s Government or the Anti-Cult Investigation Bureau. Whatever they give you, take it, whatever they ask, answer it."
Zhong Yue nodded dumbly.
"Dad?" nearby, Zhong Chengyu stood, frightened, tentatively saying: "You’re... not dead?"
Suddenly, she slapped her head, acting as if she understood:
"Ankang Hospital was demolished, I heard they were conducting special experiments. I understand now, Dad must have been selected, and his illness cured??"
Zhong Chengshi also realized:
"Jiangzhou’s Government and the Anti-Cult Investigation Bureau are..."
Before he finished, the old man raised his hand, interrupting.
With tranquil composure, Zhang Fusheng glanced at the three in the room and then spoke to the tearful Zhong Yue:
"Close your eyes."
After all, he was her father.
Zhong Yue obeyed, closing her eyes after.
Zhang Fusheng walked to the dining table, picked up a chopstick, Qin Guihua smiled ingratiatingly:
"Looks like Dad wants to eat..."
’Stab!’
The old man, swift as lightning, stabbed, the wooden chopstick piercing the woman’s throat, went through and out, so fast it left only an afterimage.
’Gurgling.....’
Qin Guihua clutched her throat, emitting incomprehensible gurgling noises, blood foaming out between fingers.
Zhong Chengshi and Zhong Chengyu were stunned.
A second later.
Zhong Chengyu’s face distorted, mouth wide open, was about to scream!
’Stab!’
The old man stabbed again.
The chopstick pierced her throat as well.
The scream turned into a splash of gushing blood.
"You! You!" Zhong Chengshi’s face twisted, scalp exploding, heart racing, madly fleeing toward the door!
The aged hand holding the chopstick gently stabbed, embedding in the middle-aged man’s skull, then smacked the chopstick’s end.
Driven in to the base.
Followed by a heavy fall.
"Let’s go." The old man said calmly.
He led the eye-closed Zhong Yue out the door, quietly downstairs.
On the street, a white van parked, door open, with a pale-faced middle-aged man standing beside.
"May I call you..... Senior Zhong?"
Having just completed spiritual healing, freed from those seven murderous words, Liu Zhengbang cautiously asked.
The old man smiled indifferently, gently patting Zhong Yue’s hand:
"You can open your eyes... head back to the Snake Fist Hall where you work."
Zhong Yue was dazed, suddenly detecting something had appeared in her pocket, like... a letter?
She wanted to speak, but found herself unable to, not even control her body,
just stiffly departing, heading toward Snake Fist Hall.
Liu Zhengbang glanced at the departing girl, said nothing, but bowed to the old man:
"Senior Zhong, I’m with the Anti-Cult Investigation Bureau, Vanguard Team leader, Liu Zhengbang."
Zhang Fusheng extended his Divine Thought twenty kilometers, sweeping circularly.
After confirming there were no issues.
The old man nodded slightly:
"Investigation Bureau... I have matters to discuss with you."
He paused, voice calm yet deep:
"Let’s go, let’s talk, about the Western Divine Descent matter."
Liu Zhengbang’s pupils shrank suddenly.
