Secret Buyer-Chapter 312 - 239: The Missing Seventh Seat
The night was deep.
Shen Baobao was gasping heavily, her whole body covered in blood.
She was about to die.
Approaching the land of Chongyang, it was raining violently.
She was traveling by plane to Chongyang, but before she arrived, still halfway, the plane was shot down. Now she was being hunted, the reason unknown, and was desperately fleeing.
Behind her were shadowy figures leaping, sprinting, charging in the darkness!!
These were all ants.
The true assassin, having missed with one attack, had already disappeared.
Shen Baobao was still running frantically, her Dharma Aspect shattered, her Divine Realm pierced through,
even the Grotto Heaven she had rapidly accumulated in Golden University by trading and amassing vast amounts of Spiritual Cultivation, was now cracked!
An outstanding figure among the Innates was hunting her down.
For what reason?
She didn’t know, but just buried her head and fled. Suddenly starlight appeared.
Shen Baobao turned her head in alarm, her immense Spiritual Power transformed into a massive Saints’ Book, suddenly opening, and she shouted:
"Wind! Fire! Thunder!"
Then there was a great wind, raging fire, and heavenly thunder!
The starlight came closer and closer—it was an arrow, passing through and shattering the ground,
the wind couldn’t stop it, the fire couldn’t burn it, the thunder couldn’t destroy it!
She was horrified, the cracked Grotto Heaven manifested again and then was pierced through.
The arrow harshly nailed her to a pitch-black mountain ridge, blood fell like rain.
"The first one."
A shadowy figure approached, holding a Divine Bow, shrouded in darkness.
The figure came closer, walking up to the immobile Shen Baobao nailed to the mountain ridge.
"There are significant signs of time particle oscillation on you."
The shadow spoke calmly, examining the blood-coughing Shen Baobao:
"You come from the High Heaven Association, your identity and status should be very high..... come with me."
Shen Baobao opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but the arrow piercing her chest was constantly eroding her body,
making her unable to speak!
The shadowy figure lifted her, sealing her six senses, then suddenly paused.
He reached into the unconscious Shen Baobao’s arms, rummaged for a while, and took out a small token, engraved with the words High Heaven, exuding immortal Taoist charm.
"Indeed."
Yang Shexing whispered, carefully placing the token into a special wooden box, inscribed with intricate patterns, isolating all internal and external contact.
He lifted the woman, using the Great Transposition Technique.
Both figures blurred together, and when they reappeared, they were already on the Jingpeng Ship.
"Use the Level 6 God-locking Chain to bind her."
Yang Shexing threw the unconscious Shen Baobao onto the floor, asked casually:
"Are there any new anomalies detected by the instruments?"
The attendant spoke softly:
"None—after all, it’s an experimental machine from the Research Institute, not yet precise enough. Even on ourselves, a certain degree of time particle oscillation can be detected."
"Only those who have accepted over a thousand years of time transfer can be accurately identified."
After a pause, the attendant continued:
"The instruments also detected traces of someone who accepted a massive time transfer, but we were unable to further track them. The person seemed to disappear or entered a place that couldn’t be detected."
Yang Shexing nodded calmly:
"It doesn’t matter, even having one is enough. This person must be a high-ranking member of the High Heaven Association. See if we can extract enough information."
The attendant nodded, then asked with some concern:
"The ’True Man’ of the High Heaven Association could very well indeed be a [Taoist True Man], sir, which would mean a Venerate level person..."
Yang Shexing pondered for a moment and shook his head:
"It’s not a big problem."
He raised up the special wooden box containing the High Heaven Token, squinting as he spoke:
"This box comes from the Research Institute, said to absolutely isolate inside and outside, even the Deity cannot perceive it, so even if that so-called True Man is a Deity, temporarily they wouldn’t track us here."
"Besides, even if a Venerate really attacks, can they break the Jingpeng Ship?"
"Additionally..."
Yang Shexing looked out the porthole, at the Chongyang high-ranking officials who had been waiting below all day.
"Has anyone left down there?"
"Reporting to sir, no—however, someone hasn’t come."
"Who?"
"The head of the Public Security Headquarters, or rather, former head Zhang Fusheng. He resigned from his position and didn’t come to greet us, there are reports that he... went on vacation?"
Yang Shexing was momentarily stunned:
"Him? This person must also be a member of the High Heaven Association, possibly a high-ranking one too. Try to find him, but use softer methods."
The attendant mused:
"One for interrogation, one for recruitment?"
"Exactly."
Yang Shexing smiled, giving the unconscious Shen Baobao a light kick:
"Alright, go meet with these Chongyang high officials."
......
High up in the endless sky.
Eight Sceneries Palace.
Figures shrouded in dark mist stepped up the eighty-one steps of white jade, slowly standing at the door of the Taoist Palace.
"Another newcomer has arrived."
A figure, Chen Nuanyu whispered; the other seats turned their heads, eyes scanning up and down the newcomer,
the newcomer was also shrouded in darkness, utterly indistinguishable.
With this layer of darkness,
one could only make out the general shape, distinguish who was who.
"Wait a minute, where is the Seventh Seat?"
The Fourth Seat, Shi Zhengyuan, asked puzzled:
"Why don’t I see the Seventh Seat?"
Apart from the newcomer, all the seats were momentarily stunned, indeed, where was the young lady of the Seventh Seat?
The group was puzzled.
Yuan Tiandao’s heart trembled.
He... could see.
Originally due to a great disrespect, having a [Vision] that peeked into the Emperor’s whereabouts had been permanently sealed, now at this moment, it vanished like smoke!
He was astounded; his eyes scanned around, seeing the eight wondrous ranks of great sceneries floating in all directions, gazing up to the towering and indescribable Taoist Palace,
then looked over, there were seven mysterious figures, all cloaked in obstructive darkness,
the seven stood there quietly, bowing respectfully towards the Taoist Palace, saying:
"Celestial Venerate above!"
Chaotic Qi roiled, and the grand doors of the Taoist Palace thunderously opened.
Yuan Tiandao felt a chill in his heart, cautiously following the procession into the Taoist Palace,
raising his eyes,
to see a mysterious being quietly seated amidst the flowing Chaos Mist, beside whom stood an elderly man in his twilight years.
A Celestial Venerate and a True Man?
Yuan Tiandao’s thoughts churned as his expression grew somber, unable to resist the urge to employ Qi Observation Technique, eager to deduce, to divine,
but as the thought arose, a great sense of terror emerged in his heart, his Spiritual Sense erupted, issuing a dire warning.
Do not peer, do not peer, do not peer!
Yuan Tiandao immediately ceased all intent.
Altogether, there were eight people, who thus made their obeisance to the Great Celestial Venerate.
The Celestial Venerate remained motionless, quietly seated in the chaotic mist, not even the True Man broke the silence,
the assembly exchanged bewildered glances.
Within the mist.
Zhang Fusheng’s brows furrowed.
Where is Shen Baobao?
He could surprisingly no longer sense that wisp of soul he’d entrusted to the High Heaven Order.
Zhang Fusheng frowned, his eyes suddenly flickering with starlight,
using the Meditation Mat for amplification, he attempted to trace back the cause and effect of that wisp of his soul, in a daze, seeing some blurred past scenes.
In the vision, Shen Baobao, nearing Chongyang City, was attacked,
the aerospace ship she was aboard was shattered by a radiant arrow,
she was relentlessly pursued, her Dharma Aspect shattered, her Divine Realm pierced through, even her Grotto Heaven cracked!
In the blurred vision revealed by cause and effect,
Shen Baobao coughed blood while fleeing, finally struck by an arrow, pinned onto a mountain range,
afterwards, a shadowy figure approached, took away the High Heaven Order, and carried away Shen Baobao.
The blurred vision ended there.
Yet, before the vision concluded, through that segment of cause and effect, Zhang Fusheng heard the mysterious person speak to the impaled Shen Baobao.
It became clear.
The adversary came targeting the High Heaven Association, and abducted Shen Baobao because of some "significant time particle disturbance" around her.
Killing intent surged in Zhang Fusheng’s eyes, yet he was not surprised — this day was bound to come sooner or later.
He just didn’t expect it to arrive so quickly.
"So, where is Shen Baobao now?"
Zhang Fusheng sought the cause and effect relationship between himself and Shen Baobao, following it further, his gaze was blocked by some Dao, blurrily seeing only the enormous, whale-like and roc-like gigantic beast carcass.
He understood.
The Jingpeng Ship.
People from the capital.
The Giant Whale Roc was originally a Level 4 Star Beast, likely a hybrid version of the [Roc Peng], this Divine Spirit-level lifeform,
even in death, was extraordinarily powerful, significantly surpassing his own Innate Realm, making it impossible to witness its phenomena through causal connection.
Nor could he discern Shen Baobao’s current circumstances.
But evidently, it would not be good.
Zhang Fusheng squinted, his heart sinking slightly, his relationship with Shen Baobao wasn’t particularly close, but through her, he had gained much cultivation time.
Most crucially, Shen Baobao was the first, but would certainly not be the last.
Time particle disturbances...these people seemingly had some method to track down members of the High Heaven Association.
Thoughts spun endlessly.
Zhang Fusheng had made up his mind.
To inflict pain upon these people.
To scare them into not daring to probe further.
In the whirlwind of thoughts, within the Eight Sceneries Palace.
Amidst a dead silence, Zhong Mountain raised his head, speaking melodiously:
"The seventh seat had their identity revealed, already captured, the attacker came seeking beyond the High Heaven."
The assembly was shocked,
as the silent Yuan Tiandao observed one of the mysterious individuals speak, it was a woman, her voice tinged with a subtle elegance.
"True Man."
Miss Mingyue saluted:
"Which side orchestrated this? Though I am presently in the starry sky, if needed, I can still project a wisp of consciousness, attempting to rescue the seventh seat."
"However, a sacrificial altar must be built, and a ritual conducted for me."
The other seats were already accustomed to this terrifying eighth seat, yet Yuan Tiandao was taken aback.
Sitting amidst the stars?
The sky had now become a deadzone, a forbidden area, apart from Star Beasts, even Celestial Humans found it difficult to traverse the starry sky for long!
Moreover, constructing altars, descending consciousness.....
Undoubtedly, this was a Deity.
Yuan Tiandao, shocked, realized that this so-called realm above the High Heaven, every member was in fact of a Deity level!
The sixth seat, Yuan Feidao, then spoke somberly:
"Though I cannot manifest physically in reality, I also possess some special methods, if the seventh seat had fallen into the hands of some Celestial Human or Venerate, I can assist."
Yuan Tiandao’s eyelid twitched again.
The fifth seat, Buddha Son, also nodded:
"Above the High Heaven, we assist one another, today it’s the seventh seat in peril, tomorrow it could be us — no, it’s inevitable."
After pausing, he spoke slowly:
"Currently, I can muster a small pile of Divine Artifacts, if needed, offering assistance."
Yuan Tiandao felt somewhat numb.
Divine Artifacts.
’Pile’.
Could this be something that can be described as a ’pile’??
Amidst shock and awe, respect began to emerge in his heart.
This realm above the High Heaven...
far exceeded what he had imagined, more terrifying.
These were merely fellow ’members’ similar to him, what of the mysterious Celestial Venerate then?
He looked at the Celestial Venerate, seeing only the flow of chaotic mist, around the Celestial Venerate, dim-lighted and dark, seemingly containing overlapping grand universes, flickering uncertainly.
The True Man spoke:
"Those who come above the High Heaven, are all people of Heavenly Destiny, favored by the Celestial Venerate, but merely favored, not cherished."
"This place is Heaven-Interchangeable Tao, a land of balance of everything, a place by the divine mandate, not a refuge."
"This is a tribulation all of you are destined to endure, all who bear the Heavenly Destiny, ought to be accorded importance."
Glancing around, the True Man, his tone shifted:
"However, if you choose to assist each other and cross the tribulation, it is not impossible— after discussions conclude, I will inform you of the seventh seat’s location."
"Now, let’s proceed with the discussion."
