Chapter 800: Chapter 385: The Rules of Disciples’ War, Invitation from the Messiah_1

Hang City, beside West Lake.

The estate was quaint and elegant, with winding corridors and painted bridges, gurgling streams, resembling a small garden.

In the courtyard, a middle-aged man sat on the master’s chair. He questioned the subordinate who was slightly bowing beside him, "Where is Cain?"

Immediately, Amos, clad in a black robe, replied: "My lord, Cain has reached Hang City and will be here within ten minutes at most."

The Third Disciple, Vesinu, nodded and continued, "Both you and Cain are participating in the Disciple War for the first time. I asked him for three follower slots and one from you. Do you understand my intention?"

Amos knew that Lord Vesinu had far-reaching influences. Even before the Disciple War had begun, he had received specific information. In this Disciple War, each disciple could bring three followers to participate in the war.

Amos lowered his head, "The subordinate does not know, but if my lord does so, he must have his reason. My duty is to obey."

Vesinu chuckled.

"You are just too cautious."

"In fact, it was Cain who took the initiative to hand over the three follower slots to me, and then turned around and asked me for five million spirit essences."

Amos was visibly stunned, not expecting such a rogue tactic.

However, this move was very much in Cain’s style—it was exactly the kind of thing he would do.

Upon hearing that the Disciple War hadn’t started, Cain confidently announced to his lambs that his territory would soon expand. He was so sure of his victory that he even used the temptation of a new territory agency to get a bunch of lambs to empty their coffers and donate Spirit Essences...

Choosing ’Cain’ as his holy name was indeed accurate!

Vesinu continued, "It’s been a long time since the Lord has held a coronation ceremony for a newly promoted disciple. Cain being the exception clearly implies that he has won the Lord’s favor. His future is incalculable."

Amos had long known that Cain had powerful support, hence his special consideration for him.

Initially, he thought that Lord Vesinu wanted to cultivate Cain. But after the disciple coronation ceremony, he found out how terrifying Cain’s backing was.

The person standing behind Cain was none other than the leader of the New World, no, he should be called the Emperor of the New World—the Lord!

Amos felt fortunate that he had always treated Cain well, as he had a promising future.

"I asked you for follower slots because the struggle between the high-ranking disciples is too intense. Without some extra people to take a hit when needed, even I am unsure if I could survive again..."

"My Lord! You will surely defeat the other high-ranking disciples and emerge as the final victor." Amos instantly responded. He was nurtured by Vesinu. No matter how much loyalty he had, his interests were firmly tied to Vesinu’s. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

If Vesinu were to die, it would only bring harms, not benefits to him.

Vesinu shook his head and continued, "You still don’t understand, the Lord’s hidden intentions. You have been in the seventh difficulty for quite a while, haven’t you? Have you been promoted to Nightmare Chapter?"

"My Lord, I have been in the Nightmare Chapter for some time. If the Disciple War was not held in advance, I would able to pass the Nightmare Chapter for the first time in a month. However, the evaluation of the interpretation may be on the lower side..."

"Once you have conquered the Nightmare difficulty a few times and if you’re not too unlucky, you should be able to reach the Demigod realm. By then, you’ll understand the true intentions of the Lord," continued Vesinu.

Amos was taken aback. The True Intentions of the Lord?

Did Lord Vesinu refer to those first disciples who survived numerous Disciple Wars, but who have now disappeared without a trace?

Vesinu heaved a long sigh, "In this round of lower-ranking disciples, besides you and Cain, there’s the newly promoted tenth disciple Jeremiah, none of whom have stepped into the Demigod realm."

"While the ninth disciple Agabus, who survived the previous Disciple War, should have already reached the Demigod realm."

Hearing this, Amos wore a solemn expression.

The Disciple War was not just a free-for-all amongst the disciples in a specified area. Instead, it followed some sort of unspoken rules.

In the Disciple War, lower-ranking disciples would be in one area, while middle-ranking disciples and higher would be in their respective regions.

Normally, high-ranking disciples were restricted from entering the territories of lower-ranking disciples.

Hence, unless a lower-ranking disciple actively committed suicide by crossing regions, they wouldn’t encounter a higher-ranking disciple they couldn’t match.

Even so, if the ninth disciple, Agabus, had indeed become a demigod, whether Cain could survive the Disciple War remained a mystery.

Because, the power gap between Mythical and Legendary levels was too vast!

Inwardly, Amos prayed that this round of Disciple War would be like the previous one, where only one disciple will need to be eliminated in each region to successfully pass the war...

"As for the struggles between the lower-ranking disciples, I cannot interfere. I can only assign two relatively strong followers for you. If by any chance you encounter Agabus, don’t pity my resources, let those two be your rearguards and die for you," Vesinu said.

"The Lord has always despised high-ranking disciples covertly assisting lower-ranking disciples, disrupting the normal order of the Disciple War. If it weren’t for Cain’s special status in the Lord’s heart, I wouldn’t make such a plan."

Amos was dumbfounded. He thought Vesinu had simply wanted follower slots from him and Cain because he lacked strength.

Other high-ranking disciples did the same thing to their affiliated lower-ranking disciples. However, it’s just to exploit the subordinates and increase their own chances of winning the war.
