Saving the World in an Apocalypse-Style Text Game-Chapter 1039 - 479: Special Endpoint Event ’Eternal Knowledge Illusion Book for Escaping the World’, Chaos Ability
Lin Xun’s spirit was jolted.
"So that means, the Servant of God had always been putting on an act?"
"Its purpose is to resurrect the Abyss and Stars and induce the Main Deities to occupy its body, turning the new Main God into a stepping stone for Omniscience."
"No, it’s not exactly accurate to say the Servant of God was putting on an act; it acted only when it was assimilated by the Abyss to a certain extent and saw no way to turn back."
Before the Servant of God truly degenerated into a ’Child of the Abyss,’ it segmented a part of its pure consciousness and hid it in the ’Beast of Chaotic Knowledge,’ leaving its main body to become the ’Child of the Abyss’ that the Abyss and Stars needed.
Even though the ’Child of the Abyss’ kept seizing the authority of Omniscience, because of its own potential limitations, it couldn’t take all of Omniscience’s authority for itself.
The Servant of God had gone through numerous deductions and analyses, concluding definitively that the Abyss and Stars would never be satisfied with just that portion of authority from the ’Child of the Abyss.’
They would certainly plunder the authority of Omniscience in an attempt to become the real ’Trinitarian Main Deities.’
The ’Child of the Abyss’ is the ultimate trump card of the Stars and Abyss and also the critical turning point in the plan of the Servant of God.
By pulling the resurrection of the Abyss and Stars into the final battle prematurely in Chapter Eight or even Nine, Lin Xun surely would have some impact on the outcome.
It’s highly likely that because of his premature initiation of the final battle, the Omniscience that was teetering on the brink of collapse and loss could more easily take over the dominant consciousness of the new Main God.
If all goes well, following the ’voluntary’ assimilation by the Stars and Abyss, this Trinitarian new Main God could, due to its own ’expansion,’ withstand more Chaos.
Even, after Omniscience truly controls the authority of assimilation – not just a copy incapable of advancement – Omniscience might be able to continually enhance the authority of assimilation, attempting to coexist with Chaos using a more formidable Chaos Ability.
Regardless of whether it’s possible to coexist with Chaos in the end, just by merging with the Stars and Abyss, due to its own ’expansion,’ it could postpone the moment when Chaos completely corrodes everything.
"If that’s the case, why is the name of the endgame event ’Trinitarian God of World Destruction’?"
"It should be ’Trinitarian New Main God’ or simply ’Trinitarian God of Omniscience.’"
Lin Xun furrowed his brow.
The name of the endgame event stuck in his throat like a fishbone; this point of doubt had always given him a bad premonition.
After careful thought, he came up with two somewhat reasonable explanations.
One is that, in the future timeline, because the Stars and Abyss were completely prepared and resurrected at the most key and correct time, Omniscience had already been eroded by Chaos to the critical point and lost all autonomous consciousness.
Under such circumstances, even if the Servant of God was fully prepared, since Omniscience had lost any conscious control, it was unable to become the dominant consciousness of the new Main God, and the outcome naturally would become the ’Trinitarian God of World Destruction.’
Although he had prematurely started the final battle, the preponement was still too late, leading to Omniscience’s defeat in the battle for control against the Abyss and Stars, hence the outcome remained as the ’Trinitarian God of World Destruction.’
The second is, because he initiated the final battle prematurely, allowing Omniscience to become the dominant consciousness of the new Main God, but the assimilation of the Stars and Abyss didn’t ’expand’ Omniscience much at all, even to say that they brought negligible Chaos tolerance to Omniscience.
Even if Almighty True Knowledge became the Trinitarian new Main God, there was simply not enough time to counter the spread of Chaos, and in the end, it would still be completely eroded by Chaos, degrading into the ’Trinitarian God of World Destruction.’
Lin Xun felt the second explanation was more plausible.
Because if the first explanation were valid, then no matter how much effort the Apostle put forth in the Chapters, he couldn’t change the fixed outcome, and while the Underworld Game’s Hell Difficulty is maddeningly abhorrent, it always leaves a saving opportunity for the Apostle.
If the first explanation were valid, then Lin Xun wouldn’t see where the opportunity to Save the World lay.
Whereas the second explanation, would offer a sliver of an opportunity to Save the World, which is also most in line with the style of the Underworld Game.
Although the Chaos tolerance brought by the Abyss and Stars to Omniscience is negligible, and Omniscience, after awakening, couldn’t remain lucid for long enough to counter the spread of Chaos, there was at least some buffer time.
This buffer period could be a few decades or even over a hundred years, or it might be as brief as a few years or several months.
It is exactly this buffer period that allows the Apostle players to step into subsequent Chapters and change the terrible outcome of Omniscience being completely eroded by Chaos, falling into the role of God of World Destruction.
Though Lin Xun didn’t accomplish the true salvation in this Chapter, he still found a glimmer of an opportunity to Save the World, and it is precisely because of this sliver of an opportunity that his efforts in this Chapter were not in vain, ultimately achieving an SSS rating in interpretation.
With this thought, he took a deep breath, finally having cleared up the entire train of thought.
Having understood everything, he could now roughly grasp how the subsequent plot would unfold, also able to overlook the entire situation as an outsider.
The Stars and Abyss, being Main Deities, definitely wouldn’t be so foolish as to be completely unaware of the Servant of God’s plan. They used a straightforward and openly scheming strategy against the Servant of God, and the Servant of God did the same to them.
They were gambling once again, betting that Almighty True Knowledge had already been eroded by Chaos to a certain extent, and even if the final battle commenced prematurely, they still had a decent chance of winning the ensuing battle of consciousness.
The allure of the Omniscient Authority was undoubtedly vast, so much so that the Abyss and Stars were willing to risk it all despite knowing the significant chance that they could lose the gamble.
