Saving the World in an Apocalypse-Style Text Game-Chapter 1026 - 474: Primitive Ancient Dragon, The Endpoint Event — Trinity of the God of World Destruction
Soon, Lin Xun began the second skill refresh... no, it was the second transplantation surgery.
Bennett removed the eyeballs, clearing the original attributes of the eyeballs. The bloodline skills that Little Dragon originally grasped, except for the Hermit’s skills, all disappeared.
Not until the surgery was completed did the bloodline skills get re-grasped.
[...]
[You have transplanted the ’Eye of the Six Ancient Dragons’!]
[You have grasped the bloodline skill ’Thunder Dragon Spear/Silent Thunder Prison’ (Mythical+ Level)!]
[You have grasped the bloodline skill ’Inverted Mirage City/Illusory Kingdom’ (Mythical+ Level)!]
[You have grasped ’Oath of the Ancient Dragon’ (Special Skill)!]
Lin Xun was speechless, the result of the second surgery was not as good as the first, having only grasped two bloodline skills.
[You and Bennett exchanged looks, and he read the answer from your eyes. Bennett didn’t even take off the surgical gloves before signaling for you to continue...]
[You lay down on the operating table again, beginning the third transplantation surgery...]
[...]
Following this, Lin Xun began a long journey of skill refreshing.
In more than ten transplantation surgeries, the results varied each time, with the worst instance being that Little Dragon didn’t grasp any bloodline skill at all.
In one instance, when his luck exploded, he nearly grasped all the bloodline skills except for the Saint’s.
But Lin Xun’s compulsiveness kicked in, refusing to rest until he had fully grasped all the bloodline skills, especially since Bennett was able to repeatedly transplant without damaging the quality of the eyeballs.
This exhausted Bennett tremendously, as the quality of the Eye of the Six Ancient Dragons was exceptionally high, and even for top transplant surgeons like Bennett, each surgery required full concentration and meticulous work for over an hour to complete.
After more than ten surgeries, Bennett was nearly exhausted.
Seeing Bennett with bloodshot eyes still persisting, Lin Xun felt somewhat guilty, so he sent his old friend to rest, indicating that continuing the surgeries tomorrow would not be delayed.
Both Knowledge Schools were fully committed to decoding the Star God Coordinate, and according to Rona’s estimation, it would take just over ten more days to decode all the remaining Star God Coordinates.
When the time came, it would be time to awaken the two sleeping Great Prophets, slay a group of Star Gods, and then engage in the final battle at the Temple of Knowledge.
Lin Xun took advantage of this free time, letting Bennett help him with surgeries to refresh skills at night while exploring other areas of the Imperial City during the day.
He returned the Demon King Legion depicted in one of the teleportation paintings back to the Abyss Underground, and found a suitable habitat for the many Dragon Clans depicted in another painting.
Lin Xun was just one Legendary Grade Divinity item short of raising his Soul Talent to a +7 level.
He meticulously explored the Imperial City region, unwilling to overlook any corner, determined to find a Divinity Prop.
Unfortunately, heaven did not comply with human wishes, as the primary means of acquiring Divinity items involved encounters like god statues, opening treasure chests, and such; the probability of dropping from monsters was extremely low. He scoured the Imperial City region back and forth twice, yet failed to find a Divinity item.
Eventually, it was from Rona that he obtained additional clues about Divinity items.
There was a type of creature with an extremely high probability of dropping Divinity items—Mist Barrier Monsters.
Initially, one of Lin Xun’s reasons for choosing the Omniscient World was due to the Mist Barrier Monsters, but unfortunately, all the areas in this Chapter were under the strict control of the School’s headquarters, which had long since cleared the nearby Mist Barrier Monsters.
Only in remote towns, those areas far from the School’s jurisdiction, would the School allow the Mist Barrier Monsters to devour each other until a Mist Barrier Monster Lord was born, before sending Scholars to harvest them.
The harvested Divinity would then be supplied to the high-level members of the School, the Great Sages, to enhance their ’Analysis Power’ and advance towards becoming Prophets, to become the next successors.
However, the birth rate of Mist Barrier Monster Lords was very low, and even allowing many remote towns to raise them, very few Divinity items had been produced over the years.
Knowing he was looking for Divinity items, Rona instructed the president of the Polyvision School to keep any Divinity items harvested from newly born Mist Barrier Monster Lords in the breeding areas.
Such orders made the president think that he was a ’kept man’ by Prophet Rona.
However, with the Star God Coordinate nearing its complete decoding, there was no longer a need to use Divinity items to help the Great Sages enhance their own Analysis Power to advance to Prophets and become the next successors.
After all, advancing to Prophet involved a huge risk of being eroded by Chaos, breaking the Human and God Limit is a road of no return and requires sacrifice.
Perhaps Lin Xun was lucky; the School indeed discovered a newly born Mist Barrier Monster Lord not long ago that had not yet been harvested.
The game prompt named the remote town ’Lupeni’ as a ’Five Difficulty Zone’, and because he couldn’t travel to that area due to the difficulty gap of two levels and the non-conforming timeline.
Lin Xun could only ask Rona to send a few Scholars to complete the harvesting task.
For the School, sending an ordinary Sage could quickly kill the Mist Barrier Monster Lord and the harvest would not take much time, but the round trip was extremely long due to the distance involved.
Round trip, if fast, might barely make it back before the final battle.
If there were any unforeseen incidents along the way, that would be problematic.
Concerned that the Underworld Game might cause trouble again, he continually influenced Rona with ’pillow talk’, resulting in the Polyvision School dispatching an ultra-luxurious lineup of three Great Sages leading ten Sages to ’Lupeni’ to harvest the Lord.
