Chapter 1011: Chapter 468: The Bodies Prophets Need, the Way to Delay the Spread of Chaos

[You open your eyes and find yourself and Rona already in a laboratory...]

[The laboratory is a hub of activity, exceptionally busy, not only with transplant doctors clad in black coats and wearing bird-beak masks but also with many Knowledge Scholars.]

[What strikes you as odd is that they all have expressionless faces, their gazes devoid of any flicker of emotion. Even your and Rona’s sudden appearance, having just entered the painting and materializing out of nowhere, fails to attract the slightest attention from them.]

[They are solely focused on the work at hand, meticulous as robots. Were it not for the fact that you hold the ’Flesh Authority’ and can sense that they are indeed living, flesh-and-blood humans, you might think they were Refined Copper automatons clad in human skin.]

[The sight of the transplant doctors at work causes your scalp to tingle, and you can’t help but feel angry inside!]

[On the operating tables, there are numerous human children, along with the bodies of high demons and Star Spirits. The transplant doctors deftly dissect the children’s bodies, the organs of the demons, and the eyeballs of the Star Spirits, to extract needed parts and place them on the Refined Copper trays nearby.]

[The Knowledge Scholars are in charge of assisting, handling the menial and arduous tasks. Once an operating table accumulates enough ’material’ in the Refined Copper trays, someone is dispatched, carrying the heavy trays to the next laboratory...]

[The age of these children is not significant, the youngest being only five or six years old, while the eldest likely no more than ten. As the transplant doctors dissect their bodies, you can even witness their twitching, pulsating muscles and sinews...]

[Clearly, these children were alive just before being sent to the laboratory.]

[You wish you could destroy the laboratory this instant, leave the transport painting, grab Multivision’s Chairman by the collar, and ask what exactly his School is up to!]

[Rona too, frowns beside you, knowing that the School has been conducting some secret experiments, but had never imagined the experiments to be so cruel... cruel enough to provoke both heaven’s wrath and human indignation.]

[There are no guards here, nor anyone to prevent or be concerned about your presence.]

[You and Rona move through laboratory after laboratory, and the scenes before you are the same, the ’materials’ becoming more refined and pure through each successive lab...]

[Finally, when you arrive at the last laboratory, you see a familiar figure.]

[Although it is still wearing the face-obscuring bird-beak mask, you recognize it at a glance—it’s ’Bennett’!]

[’Bennett’ stands at the forefront of the five tall platforms at the deepest end of the laboratory, commanding the numerous operating tables along with four other leading doctors, performing the final step of the surgeries, the assembly and stitching.]

[The final step of the surgery entails sewing together various children’s limbs to form a complete body, then stuffing the abdomen with high demon organs embedded with Star Spirit eyeballs. The dense mass of stitching makes the new body look like a rag doll that’s been torn apart and sewn back together.]

[’Bennett’ occasionally scolds the other four lead doctors, showing the demeanor of the highest leader in the laboratory.]

[Your and Rona’s entrance draws ’Bennett’s attention...]

[It follows the sound of the door opening and, upon seeing the familiar face beneath the brim of the Scholar’s cap, it is stunned.]

[It shows an ecstatic expression and immediately leaves behind the other four leading doctors, striding swiftly towards you, excitedly exclaiming, "Rona, you’ve finally come to see it!"]

[Those damned Scholars all said you were a heretic who betrayed the True God, it never believed them!]

[Rona nods and says that it has already cleared the suspicion of heresy, and the ’Learned Chairman’ has agreed to release you. It is here to rescue...]

[Bennett doesn’t wait for it to finish, solemnly shaking its head, saying it cannot leave, as it must continue performing transplant surgeries in the laboratory.]

[Rona is taken aback and then frowns...]

[Despite being quite indignant about the atrocities just witnessed, considering that Bennett was coerced by the School into carrying out these acts, it seems somewhat excusable.]

[Even if Bennett were absent, the School would compel other transplant doctors to commit these abominable deeds.]

[The sin doesn’t lie with the blade, but with the perpetrator who wields the blade.]

[’Bennett’ doesn’t immediately explain but instead says that it’s not convenient to talk here and asks you to follow it...]

[It is about to step forward but suddenly looks at you, asking with confusion, "And who is this?"]

[After a moment’s thought, Rona says, "This person is fighting alongside it."]

[Upon hearing this, ’Bennett’ seems to realize something and just stares at you, its hands and feet trembling with excitement, standing there frozen for a long while...]

[It then snaps out of it, suppressing its excitement, and with a tremulous voice, tells you to follow it quickly...]

[’Bennett’ hastily leads you and Rona through the laboratory to a separate rest room.]

[Turning around, it locks the door tightly and immediately turns to Rona to confirm again, "Rona, is this truly the person it has been longing for?"]

[Before ’Rona’ can speak, you nod and say, "Bennett, it’s been a long time."]

[’Bennett’s lips tremble as it murmurs, "It really is you, Messenger of the True God, Messenger of the True God..."]

[It takes a while to calm down from the overwhelming joy, feeling that today is the luckiest day of its life. Not only did Rona come to visit after being exonerated, but the much-anticipated reunion has also unexpectedly arrived.]

[After a few deep breaths, it slowly begins to tell you about the situation inside the laboratory...]
