Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 30 - 29: The Lying Maid
When she was done with her soup, she turned to Eleanore, opening her mouth for the vegetables. Eleanore simply smiled and then started feeding the poor woman. To Stella, Eleanore Sinclair had turned into a generous and kind woman. Even her smile only showered care and worry over her.
Stella loved this new Eleanore.
"Do you want some water? Perhaps, some juice?" Eleanore asked, placing the empty plate and bowl in the trolly.
"Juice. Is it watermelon today?" Stella asked.
"Yes, you asked for it yesterday." Eleanore poured the orange juice into a glass and gave it to stella. Stella took a sip and felt like heaven feeling the taste of her favorite drink touching her tongue, returning her taste buds back to her.
"I love watermelon!" She exclaimed.
"Me too." Eleanore smiled.
"Really?" Stella was surprised to find out that her preferences matched with a noble woman. Just as she felt happy about this coincidence, she remembered. " But you threw it away when I offered it to you?" She complained.
Eleanore was stunned, she had no idea what she was saying.
"When?" Eleanore blinked in astonishment.
"When you first arrived at my boutique. That was our first meeting." Stella answered, then gulped up the whole glass of watermelon juice in one go. She returned the glass to Eleanore whipping her wet lips at the same time.
"Ah! That time." To tell the truth, Eleanore remembered nothing of that day and even though Stella mentioned that incident, she didn’t get any flashbacks for it. "I was a jerk then. I want to change."
"Then do you still-" Stella stopped midway, she wanted to ask if she still loved Caelestis, but she feared that the answer to it might be yes. Eleanore’s affirmation would have annoyed Stella, perhaps would make her want to fight for her to help her out of the obsession for that man.
But then wouldn’t this break this friendship? Eleanore is stubborn. She knew. So she didn’t ask and remained quiet.
"What?" But Eleanore was curious about the question that made Stella want to shut up. A woman like Stella, who has her own opinions unlike other noble women, would never hesitate to ask her concerns. Then what was she about to ask that made her stop midway?
"Nothing." She said turning away,
Eleanore sat there for a while contemplating Stella’s strange behaviour. Then when Stella remained quiet, she got up and started pulling the trolly out.
Stella’s eyes widened at the sound of moving wheels. She turned around and stopped Eleanore, "If you still have time can you tell me what’s going on outside?" She asked.
Eleanore’s worried eyes softened, she smiled, "My brother is on a mission right now." was the first thing that came to Eleanore’s mind. Deep inside she honestly missed her brother.
"Sir Hael Sinclair?" Stella asked for confirmation.
"Yes, honestly I miss him." She said Eleanore took a pause then tried to come up with some other news. "And— yes, Caelestis is happy to hear you have started eating."
Stella’s bright face turned dark, instantly making Eleanore regret her reckless words. "Stella, don’t worry I will help you out of here, I promise."
Before she could say anything more, the old wooden door of the room swung open behind Eleanore, startling both the girls present in that room..

Marina was busy covering up for Eleanore. Every evening, she would lay some pellow on the bed and cover them with the blanket, presenting as if Eleanore was lying under the blanket. The butler would come with a dinner invitation from the last two days.
When the butler arrives at the door, she would open the door wide to show that she wasn’t hiding anything and then would calmly listen to the invitation, after which she would close the door like always and act as if she was asking her mistress about what to do with the invitation. The fake mistress, that is the pillows, would refuse the invitation and Marina would gently shake her head to relay the news to the butler.
Today as well she was going to do the same thing when a knock landed on her door. This knock was different. It wasn’t a single knock like always, but instead three light knocks, landing consequently on the door. She found it strange, but assumed that the butler might have sent a maid this time, tired of the continuous refusals.
She calmly walked towards the door. However before pushing the knob of the door, she once again scanned the room, making sure that everything was in place and nothing was suspicious. When the door swung open wide like always, there was no maid.
The frail figure that usually appeared in front of her for the past two days was also not present. Instead, it was a tall silhouette.
A handsome face popped in front of her. His sharp jaw ready to pierce through whatever was going on in that room.
Without a word, Caelestis entered the room, moving Marina to the side. When his eyes landed on the bulge in the bed, covered under a blanket, his forwarding feet stopped.
He stood there, lost in thought as if he was arranging his words in a way that would not sound rude or obnoxious.
"Lady Eleanore, for how long are you going to refuse to show up?" He asked, sounding rude and annoyed either way.
"My lady is asleep." Marina replied, hesitantly.
Caelestis turned to her, eyed her for a while then moved his gaze back to the bed. "Lady Eleanore. I was at fault. Forgive me. Please get out of bed now." He continued.
His apology sounded bland. It was not genuine. He said it only to end this cold war that was going on between them for the past two days.
"My lady is not angry with you, grand duke. She is only tired and asleep." Marina, unwillingly opens her damn mouth again.
When Caelestis turned his head again to face her, she knew she should have remained quiet. She almost cursed her mouth internally after that.
"Does your lady not have a tongue? Why are you answering on her behalf?" He asks, already annoyed by that behaviour.
