Chapter 27: Chapter 26: Marina’s Hard Work

Marina, who had spent all day looking for clues, asking around where the side house is. Quickly rushed into her mistress’ room with all the information she had found. She was excited to be praised by her mistress for her hard work.

Without knocking, she dashed into her mistress room and loudly declared her hard work. "I found information, my lady." She declared.

Eleanore left her seat and walked towards her maid. "Calm down, Marina. Lower your voice." She said,

"My lady, she has been kept in a side house, however I couldn’t find where." She ignored her mistress’ words.

"Lower your voice, Marine. There are eyes and ears everywhere." She said in a stern voice, her eyes glaring at her maid to shut up.

"Yes, my lady."

"Good. Now tell me what else you find other than the side house part. For I already know the location." Eleanore shot a smile in the old maid’s way.

Marina, somewhat jealous by this, continued her report. "My lady, I couldn’t find the side house but I heard that there are two different maids who deliver food there. On alternate days."

"You should try going in the evening, my lady." The old maid entered the conversation, leaving her seat. "Disguising as a maid."

"Do you know the time?" Eleanore turned to Marina.

"Eight in the late evening." The old maid answered.

"Why are you interrupting? I know the time as well." Marina felt extremely angry over the old maid, who didn’t let her finish her report, she had worked so hard on.

"It’s fine, Marina. Thank you for your hard work." Eleanore patted her head wearing a gentle smile on her lips, then turned to the old maid.

"Fine. I will take care of other things. Can you take care of the maid who is supposed to deliver food today?" Eleanore asked one last favor.

"Do not worry, my lady. Leave it to me." She agreed confidently.

"Marina, bring me your maid dress."

Marina left the room to her maid quarters, where she rarely visits, for most of the time she sticks around with her lady like a leech.

"What is your name?" Eleanore asked.

"Delythena but I am called Mary here." She revealed her true name.

"It is an honor to meet you Lady Delythena." Eleanore bowed in respect to the elder noble of Zhipher.

"The pleasure was mine." The old maid bowed back.

In the evening, Eleanore wore Marina’s spare maid costume and was ready to deliver the food that Mary had prepared for her. Mary gave some other task to the original maid assigned for the work to be done.

It wasn’t very difficult to convince the young girl, who already hated delivering food there. She found it extremely depressing and disheartening to see that poor woman tied down in shackles.

Eleanore could only imagine Stella’s condition from the web novel she had read. As she walked through the greenhouse, approaching the forbidden yard which had no end till where her eyes could reach. She walked on a well crafted road made out of red volcanic stones.

||Stella remained in the confines for a whole month. At first she refused to eat for a week. That’s when Caelestis went to meet her. But his intention did not include freeing her. His only purpose of visit was to stop her hunger strike.

Caelestis swiftly entered the messed up room, where Stella had laid like a lifeless person but alive. For the whole week, Stella found it difficult to believe that the friend she adored and respected so much was nothing but a complete psychopath. She remained in agony and disbelief until Caelestis finally came to meet her.

He pulled a rusty chair and sat on it, his face lacking the charm and smile that Stella saw every time she met him.

"Stella! How long do you think you can survive this way?" He asked in a rather heavy and husky voice. Completely different from the soft one that always called her lovingly.

"I thought you had big dreams. Do you want to die so early without achieving them?" He asked.

On hearing about her dream. Stella’s eyes twitched with realization that this man was ruining everything for her. He did help her get where she is now but had she known his true colors, she would have rather kept on struggling her way up the ladder.

No! Even if she had rejected his help before, he would have still done all those things. Because he was, is and will always be obsessed with her.

All his kindness was a lie, an act. Nothing was true.

Her ocean blue eyes shone like gems as she found answers to her week-long questions. Stella sat upright to face her best friend who had now turned into her biggest enemy and the only way to get out of here was to act like a dog. A loyal dog, who obeys his master.

"Good. You shall eat well from now on. If you do, I will send a few maids to help you take a nice bath and groom you. The more you obey me, the more freedom you get and once you have learned to stop being stubborn, we will get married." Caelestis’ cold smile that followed his absurd words, acted like a fuel to Stella’s burning fire of rage and revenge.||

Things went well and those two got married to and from then on started Caelestis’ downfall.

"I must stop that. I can’t let Seraphine face the loss due to this civil war. If I want to live a healthy and carefree life here." Eleanore said to herself as she got closer to the side house that was heavily guarded.
